Hey everyone, Due to a rising issue that has been brought up by the rest of the community regarding people with disabilities being denied from roleplaying and enjoying in factions they are wishing to join, Legal Faction Management has decided to implement the following policy changes in order to facilitate the ability for people with audio/visual impairments and other disabilities that affect their ability to join factions with mandatory microphone/audio communication (e.g. PD/SD). These changes were implemented to increase inclusivity within the affected factions and come into place immediately. No-mic permissions will be directly handled by Legal Faction Management moving forward. While there's no particular format for this as we understand that everyone has different circumstances and ways to communicate, we encourage you to request no-mic permissions in a way that makes you comfortable. These can be made directly on the UCP for @Sharvit to review. After permission will be granted you will be able to apply for said factions and attempt to join them through their recruitment process just like everyone else. Legal Faction Management promises full anonymity for those who applied and won't reveal their reasons to anyone outside of LFM. Moving forward, people with no-mic permissions will be able to patrol, get promoted, and join sub-divisions, with likely restrictions being in regards to patrolling with a partner or avoiding voice-heavy sub-divisions. Legal factions will be instructed to alter their recruitment process in order to allow people with disabilities a fair recruitment process (e.g voice interviews being done on chat, altering formats to include said permission from LFM in it, etc). LFM is wholely committed to inclusivity and we believe that everyone has the right to enjoy everything that our server has to offer, regardless of disability. Short description: Make /damages persistent and in need of a doctor/EMT to fix. Have applications similar to supplier apps for "street docs" for under the table doctoring. Make doctors/medical professionals important. Also record melee injuries. Detailed description: So right now if you /changechar or relog or crash or anything all those nice GSW's you rack up on /damages magically vanish. This shouldn't be the case. These things should stay and should remain until appropriate RP is done by someone who can treat them and only then do they vanish. That means no magically clearing your damages list via a relog so you can avoid having to go to a hospital, no "self-treating" a GSW to the torso and avoiding the hospital inexplicably and so forth. To combat this make access to these commands a supplier style access job managed by IFM and LFM, so that people running clinics can get the commands, people working in hospitals/FD get them by default and people RP'ing "mob/street doc's" get them with some restrictions (No doing a damn bullet removal from the spinal column in your dining room, maybe make it so they can only treat x injury types/x location injury types, thus restricting truly damning injuries to people in hospitals). You can also go further and add in consequences for them not being removed, such as a lowered max health cap initially followed by slow and steady health drop if left unattended for more than an hour. Commands to add: /cleardamages /cleardamages [ID] for specific damages. Items to add: You could add medical items that can be applied to temporarily bring up the max health cap, and also slow down the health drop, so on. How would your suggestion improve the server? Well for one you'd make being a doctor a valuable asset on a script level, someone who can actually remove and heal things and force people to actually go to the people providing these services. You'd also create a whole subset of illegal RP around being an underground/ "mob" doctor. You'd also completely prevent the issue of people powergaming and breaking server rules by vanishing up into thin air and magically healing somehow after just bandaging their arm like that would actually fix a GSW. Additional information: I see this as an absolute win.

Violent LSSD crackdown on "Cancel 6" Protest leaves multiple injured. BY RANA KHATI On January 26th, 2021, at 6:00 PM a protest against Gruppe Six Corporate Security kicked off in Davis at their city location and what began as a peaceful protest with strong language ended in a violent crackdown by the Los Santos Sheriff's Department when protesters moved to demonstrate at the G6 Sandy Shores based headquarters. The protest began in response to the Fantasia Event Hall shooting of an unarmed African-American man by a guard from the Gruppe 6 Corporate Security company. After CCTV footage was released, there was a public outcry online. Protest organizer Noah Gashi, 18, before the protest began. The protest leader, Mr. Noah Gashi, an eighteen-year old student at ULSA, shared with LSNN his reasons for calling for the demonstration and his expectations for the event. He told LSNN he expected the demonstration to be peaceful but feared violence might come from any G6 guards who might be on site. Further, he told LSNN that the reason for the protest was because he felt tired of inaction and wanted to demonstrate strongly against systemic racism. The protest in Davis gathered a crowd of up to fifty people, some onlooking, most protesting. As the protest developed, protesters began to question whether G6 was on site. This frustration lead Mr. Gashi to call for the protest to relocate to the Sandy Shores based G6 Headquarters a stone's throw from Sandy Shores. Dr. Daneille Shaw watching as the protest in Sandy Shores grew. On relocation the crowd size at first seemed to wane with the move, but soon grew to comparable numbers, at minimum 30-50 Los Santos citizens were on scene the entire time. On the scene were even some city-based notables such as Dr. Danielle Shaw who but days ago testified in an senate hearing on marijuana decriminalization. She told LSNN she was on scene because she was disgusted with that happened and called for the CEO of G6 to resign from position in the aftermath. Protesters using various civil disobedience techniques, showing their hands to show they are unarmed. Protesters used a variety of tactics, including whistling, handwaving, and at times trying to push the secure perimeter created by the LSSD. The protest leader, Noah Gashi, breached the perimeter and was dragged to the ground before being detained and placed into a van. This caused the protesters to chant with renewed vigor Eventually, a LSSD deputy spoke through a megaphone and declared the assembly unlawful- ordering all protestors to disperse. Protesters erupted in chants of "They want us to be quiet" and "Free Noah!" echoed throughout the desert at sunset. The protesters did not move but stood in civil disobedience until the Sheriff's department deployed tear gas and began to advance on protesters in a line formation. Gunshots rang out in the desert air and the unarmed protesters claim it came from the department's forces. LSNN has not confirmed at this time whether live ammunition was used on protesters or not, but does confirm that many left injured or otherwise harmed by the LSSD's crowd control techniques. The advancing deputies tried to kettle protesters into a manageable crowd. Some deputies began screaming vulgarities a protesters, losing patience quickly. A pair of the armored police went as far as to approach the on-scene LSNN reporter, pushed her with a baton, held a gun to her, and commanded her to form up with the protesters. The reporter then directly witnessed a Sheriff's Deputy pushing a woman to the brink of the river, tearing her mask off, calling her a "f*cking bitch," and proceeded to throw her directly into the Zancudo River where she remained submerged for a concerning amount of time. The photo below (right) taken by LSNN junior support staff member Jarane Cobra shows the aftermath of this particularly harrowing scene. As protesters scattered, some leaving in emergency vehicles for treatment, others trying to find their way past the traffic blockade seeking to go home, the struggle against the perceived brutality of a private security company was tangibly replaced by the taste of police violence. Many in the scattering crowd called for another wave of protests to emerge, this time with their sights set on City Hall in the coming days. LSNN reached out to the LSSD have not shared with LSNN how many were arrested, whether live ammunition was used, or whether they stand by the actions of their deputies during this violent crackdown.. UPDATED 10:39 PM 1/26/2021 The protest leader, Noah Gashi, shared a public statement to his Face Browser page today, confirming his whereabouts and wellbeing: Mr. Gashi was not charged with any crime by the LSSD and was released to Pillbox Hill Medical Center where is currently lying in recovery. Oleg the owner of Trоika rеstaurant told us about how he is offering everyone a taste of a culinary mystery. When we asked why he opened his restaurant in Los Santos, he told us: "I always wanted to make a place for Russian people and those who are interested to find out more about our culture, where people can erase their cultural boundaries and differences to enjoy the taste of food we make with love." Like all great empires, Russians had a great cuisine, influenced by many cultures, like French, Chinese, Turkish, Finnish, and many other. Therefore once we talk about Russian cuisine we are talking about the cuisine of the largest country in the world and many nations in it. But not everyone is interested in sharing their culture and opening their hearts for a new experience. That's what Oleg, the owner told us: "I am deeply outraged with recent Russophobic trends, I have been always hospitable to anyone who visits my restaurant, but recently I have felt the growth of negativeness towards men and women of my culture, so I went to make a research. I found out that there were bot farms that spread hatred through the internet. They want us to be busy fighting while they push any agenda they want. (( For a long time, I have been looking into the various different businesses that are on the server, trying to decide on a business idea of my own. From the usual money-making businesses such as mechanical garages and used car dealerships over your everyday café and bar down to unique ideas such as an electronics store, furniture shop, theme café/bar. Ultimately, thanks to a good friend, I came across the idea of a pharmacy. At that time, the Pillbox Hill Medical Center has still been in the works with mapping halfway done and most of the community, including myself, unaware of its presence. Going through the various steps necessary to create your business, from asset transfer request (yes, I made a new character because none of my exisiting ones had a convenient doctor title with them) over property request, mapping and business script... I find myself here today, the Pharmacy ready to go. Conveniently, as of of early January 2021, the Pillbox Hill Medical Center opened its doors serving a usual rather nieche part of medical roleplay receiving great response from the community and effectively created a whole new roleplay hub between each 'section' of the community. So what better time than now to pursue the idea of a standalone pharmacy in Los Santos? Unlike your everyday café, bar and other common businesses, a standalone pharmacy has only been touched upon twice in the past – Eclipse Clinic & Pharmacy and Dollar Pills Pharmacy in Mirror Park. With lots of potential and the motion to set a course for more medical roleplay outside of hospital and EMS, Pop’s Pills will be opening its doors in the upcoming days in Downtown Vinewood. By portraying a traditional American pharmacy in the state of San Andreas, players are welcome to stop by and engage with the community, from simply picking out your everday items or prescription medicine down to building new bonds and connections. Realism over fun, in my opinion. I roleplay things that I don't particularly enjoy irl or agree with, mainly because I'm here to roleplay a character, not an extension of myself. I get enjoyment out of portraying a realistic, true to real life character, whether or not I like the type of person that I'm portraying. I've portrayed rapists, racists, junkies, murderers, all kinds of scumbags. I enjoyed the roleplay that took place on each of those characters, even though in real life I despise junkies, racists and rapists. You don't have to OOCly enjoy, agree with or like something to be able to have fun portraying it. The best roleplayers on this server are the ones who have fun when fucked up shit happens to their character or their character is put into a non-desirable situation.
