[Guide] How to survive the Davis LTD
SweetDaffodil replied to SlideOnTay's topic in Unofficial Guides
Or helpful in making some new ones 😊 -
Wait until you find out some players use /changechar to spawn at their properties instead of driving back. In my opinion, sprinting is such a non-issue compared to some of the heinous things I've seen a handful of players do on this server. If you catch someone doing it, I think you are well within your right to take it IC. Simply role-play questioning why they are running to their car if it bothers you.

PUGB was one of the first computer games I bought on my Steam account. I still play to this day since it is so fun to get together a squad and win lots of chicken dinners!

1. Yes, a lot of my beliefs, values and views align with the political party I roleplay with. Though some of the life choices I have made in the past may not be looked at favourably with said party, both in game and in real life. 2. I picked this party to roleplay with after consulting with a few of the party's faction leaders. I thought I were going to be shunned away due to my lack of experience as I were unfamiliar with bills, senate hearings, policies/procedures, election campaigning and media training. However, I was welcome with open arms. Each and every person in this party helped me learn what I needed to know without hesitation; they selflessly guided me into roleplaying effectively within the political scene. Since being involved, my character is now married to a prominent figure within this party. 3. No, IC scenarios do not affect me in real life. It's just a video game.

Absolutely adore this game, especially since I grew up playing DnD and World of Warcraft. I feel a sense of nostalgia playing BG3 and have never been so deeply invested in all the characters along the journey. You don't need a regular subscription to play as it is a one-off-payment. Highly recommend this game!

How do you go about establishing the character you want to roleplay?
SweetDaffodil replied to migo444's topic in Archive
If I want to roleplay within an established faction, I think it is common courtesy to do a little research and preparation for the portrayal of the character. I will briefly write up a backstory and work out logistics on how my character became involved with the faction ICly. The illegal factions I have joined have organised channels within their Discords providing all the relevant information on character portrayal which I ensure I read accordingly. One thing I paid particular attention to was the lingo/slang characters in the faction regularly used. An example that comes to mind are the Hispanic criminal faction members using a variety of Spanish words/phrases mixed within English sentences. It was a bit hard to pick up but practice makes perfect. Conversely, I will sometimes create a character to experiment with a vague concept in mind. With this, I find that I can be a little more lax in the portrayal. I do not even bother writing a backstory for this sort of character and focus more on "going with the flow" in interactions with other players. I think these sort of characters have less restrictions meaning they are open to vaster roleplay opportunities whereas a faction specific character is limited to what the faction needs. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, I just believe that is the big difference between establishing your character for different types of portrayals. -
Why remove it? Just RPQM people who wear it to troll. I've know plenty of Muslim characters use it properly to roleplay. -1

What did your characters teach you?

I learned that you are not your character meaning you should stop taking everything that happens to them personally. It's just a game at the end of the day. -

How do I change it back to the original style?
