  2. Short description: I believe that inmates should be able to access phone commands in jail, such as texting, making calls ect. Detailed description: I believe that inmates should be able to access phone commands in jail, such as texting, making calls ect, if smuggled in properly. The reason I believe this is because in jail believe it or not, phones have a big part to play in doing business inside and between cars. For an example, I'll give you a command we can already access with phones. The /banktransfer command. We use this command to put outside money into inmates bank accounts, ect. However, if we were able to properly utilize the phones other abilities; I believe more rp/business could be done inside of jail. For instance, if I was able to use the /sms command on my phone (an ability I am not able to do right now) I would be able to contact people on the outside, in case if I needed something done. Another command I am not able to use right now, the /addcontact command can also be pretty useful as well. Inmates would be able to make contacts/connections in jail that can and will help them later on the outside. I believe if adding this will introduce a boost to criminal rp inside and outside of jail, especially in the bigger factions in jail, aka La eme and the White car. Commands to add: I believe if adding this will introduce a boost to criminal rp inside and outside of jail, especially in the bigger factions in jail, aka La eme and the White car. Items to add: When this suggestion is implemented, I believe it should also be implemented with some sort of command or way that deputies can take the phones off of inmates without confiscating/seizing them. How would your suggestion improve the server? It would boost the criminal roleplay aspect of the server. Additional information: None.

  3. Short description: Bring more players, and therefore more RP to the rural areas of LS such as Grapeseed, Sandy Shores and Paleto Bay. Detailed description: We all know that probably 75% of RP currently occurs in LS, through the form of nightclubs and other events like car meets and such. Whilst Blaine County is experiencing a massive growth in players over the past couple of months (due to some factions being shut down, not throwing any names out there), I think this can be further progressed through the addition of some very small changes. Blaine County, and the characters within it, hold massive RP value on this server due to the complete contrast from, and I hate to use the term, mallrats. I think the main issue with Blaine County is how remote it is, and therefore how little services are available. For example, two very small stores that do however hold a massive weight, are phone stores and plastic surgery stores. There are two/three of each in LS but not a single one north of the border. Adding one or two of these to Sandy Shores/Grapeseed would not only be a massive convenience to the player base already situated there, but also make it more appealing to people who don't want to have to keep making trips (I'm assuming Grapeseed out-of-state and therefore a hefty drive in RP sense. One someone might not make just to purchase a phone IRL). I understand there may not be any lore-friendly stores to use as such, like there are for phone stores in LS - however I think the whole player-base would agree that we can over-look what it might say above a store if it means we don't have to travel all the way down to LS for a phone/nose-job. My second part to this suggestion, would be to add a new spawnpoint, licencing agency and rental car company in Paleto Bay. This is the complete polar opposite of the map, and people joining the server shouldn't have to be forced to spawn in south LS. The licencing agency could probably be within the Sheriff's office currently at Paleto bay, and the spawn points/rental car places could be up to admin discretion. This part of the suggestion is not my main focus, however I do think it would help in bringing a lot of new players to the other side of town. More housing would also be good, but I assume PM are already working on that. I believe with the rise in players in Blaine County, this would also give the Sheriff's department more to do to discourage them from travelling down to LS to support the LSPD. Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? It would discourage the standard 'mallrat' bar scene RP, and encourage more players to partake in the rural type of RP that a lot of people are missing out on. It would also make it a hell of a lot easier for people already residing in Blaine County. Additional information: With regards to housing, spawn points, phone and plastic surgery stores, rental companies and licencing agencies - I have not put in the necessary work to locate available locations for these but if the admins deem this suggestion worthy, then I will happily do my best to source these for you. Come on people, and together, let's... (I encourage constructive criticism on this post, so if you disagree please let me know in case there's a way I can edit it ? )

  5. Short description: Toggle the Rockstar Editor on for better character screenshots and videos. Detailed description: For a long time, the Rockstar Editor wasn't usable on RageMP because it caused crashes. It's disabled by default. However, as of november last year, that's been fixed: https://rage.mp/forums/topic/6575-rage-multiplayer-10-developer-preview-1-release/ (ctrl+F rockstar editor) So, there's a little flag that has to be enabled, which is seen here https://wiki.rage.mp/index.php?title=Recorder::start I'm not a developer, I don't know how this works. According to this post https://rage.mp/forums/topic/2220-rockstar-editor-support/ you need to make the server use client side API to enable it. Frankly, I have no idea what that means, but that's what we have devs for! Commands to add: None. mp.game.recorder.start(mode); mode=1 or 0, maybe. Items to add: None. How would your suggestion improve the server? It'll allow anyone to make awesome screenshots using the Rockstar Editor. It basically works like this: you press a button, record a scene, then save that, then later start up the Rockstar Editor, and you can freecam around and add in some cool effects and stuff. That's something! The thing is, anyone can do this. You don't need the skills or patience you do for Menyoo or something, it's as easy as just moving the camera around, adjusting a very simple ui and bam, got a nice lil' screenshot! But this will just lead to everyone making unrealistic FB photos! No, it won't, because the Rockstar Editor doesn't allow you to add in any new objects, unlike Menyoo, which is already allowed and frequently used. What it will allow is making nice looking screenshots and videos inside interiors, which would be a great help for many things. Remaking interiors in Menyoo is very difficult, as you need to import the objects from interior designer into the propslist.xml which I've found is a really tiring process and God, I just can't get it to work. Additional information: I'm not a dev, I don't know how this all works. But according to these forum posts I found, it is possible.

  10. Scavenger Hunt What does the story captured above mean? Does it mean nothing or does it mean everything? That's for the eye of the beholder to decide. The street culture of Los Santos is tinctured with similar demonstrations of creative expression. Words displayed for eternity on asphalt, granite, brick. Marking of territory or a call for the people to wake up. The streets of Los Santos hold wisdom in abundance, and it would be remiss of the people of Los Santos to not stop for a second and ponder. Diving deep into the meaning of these displays of insight and reading between the lines to understand why the artist wanted to disseminate the message. What does the message mean? How do you interpret it? The Government's Department of Cultural Affairs wishes to know, and wants You to help in understanding this art. There is no right or wrong answer for participating in this project titled Wisdom from LS Streets. We are urging you to go look around town looking for street art like the one featured above. Take a picture of your findings, and post its location alongside your personal interpretation of the message using the hashtag #scavengerhunt. Hunters will be rewarded with cash prizes, and the most prolific scavenger will get an internship with the Government's Department of Cultural Affairs! All submitted entries are going to be considered to be featured in a showing for Ouevre Gallery. The culture of Los Santos is all-embracing. From high art to street art, there is no wrong art. Whether you're actively looking for the street art, or you happen to come across it while going about your day; post it under #scavengerhunt or tag the official City of Los Santos Facebrowser account in your post. What do the streets tell you? Let us know!

  12. I am in agreement with this suggestion and want to highlight a few things. Currently, you can select to spawn at your last location or the airport at Los Santos and when you create a new character, it will also spawn there. How cool and stimulating for roleplay would it be to have another spawn location at Sandy Shores. This will encourage people who are more in the county type of RP to use those options and it would bring back more activity. Instead of coming via a plane, they will come via a boat. Having shops like surgery a phone store in both Sandy Shores and Paleto Bay will stop people from having to go to the city for such a small thing. In real life, those shops would be in their village. Being able to rent a car or even do your driver license test there would also be a huge plus for the community there. All but all, I can only see this as a positive suggestion. It will stop people who want to keep RPing in the county to have to go to the city for small things. It would keep more activity in the county and I'm afraid that with the upcoming update, we will see a lot of tractors drive by, but barely any citizen.

  17. Let's discuss inflation! In economics (in real-life and in games too), if you consistently pump money in the system you will eventually inflate the value of the currency. The amount of the currency circulating in the system will grow, everybody will hold a bigger amount of assets and a single piece of currency will slowly start to lose its value. This can lead to a bigger cap between old and new players, which can make people unmotivated about working, which can lead to asset stacking rather than caring about the quality of their roleplay. There are several factors in game-economics but if we want to simplify it down, we can say imagine this process as a scale. The scale: assets vs. liabilities To make it easily understandable I will insert a relatively simple illustration to make it easier to understand the difference between assets and liabilities. Assets: everything you own; Liabilities: everything you owe. Equity: we don't care about this now. The current problem with our economy Right now the biggest problem with our in-game economy is the unbalanced scale between assets and liabilities, meaning you can gather an ungodly amount of assets without also gaining liabilities. This is not just highly unrealistic but also leads to an unbalanced, unsustainable economy. In a good, sustainable economy if you can earn money extremely fast then the money will inflate eventually. To solve this, we need to create ways to force people into spending money to slow down the increase of the overall assets on the server. This can and will lead to a more stable economy which will benefit everybody. The solution: money sinks Right now our goal should be to create ways to drain money out from the system. If you earn money, you should be forced to spend a certain amount to pay the expenses of your assets. A few ideas: utility bills for homes (the higher the property + furniture value, the higher the bill), replaceable parts on cars (tires, oil, et cetera, the car guys can probably say a thousand more), and so on. What is a good money sink? Consistent -- you need to pay it weekly/monthly/yearly. Scalable -- you need to pay more if you hold higher value assets. Affects everyone -- you need to pay it regardless of your job or status. Realistic -- you need to keep your idea in realistic frames. Comment your best money sink ideas and I will create a mega suggestion ("economy update") from the most upvoted ideas! 21. Straight NVR. I feel as if it gives off the most realistic looking vibe - and is very... neutrally colored? That allows me to have a lot of playing room when it comes to editing the screenshots. With that said, they are all heavily edited and don’t really represent the original quality of the initial picture. Any color correction, dust clouds, particle effects, blur, bokeh, etc are more than likely added by me in post.

  28. NOTE: this is was a guide that was recovered following the forum rollback in December. If this was created by you, please contact me so it can be assigned to your forum account. The Entrepreneur's Handbook(Under Construction - Created by me in 2013)IntroI had the idea of creating this small guide a while back, when I first initiated myself into the unknown and underestimated world of Legal Roleplaying, after a few failed experiences in the Illegal sector. I was stunned (to say the least) on noticing some of the behaviors of most of the people in the medium, and in a way it made me realize why people tend to shy away from Legal Roleplay. From real state developers that use radios to communiacte with themselves, to the amazing amount of people whose wealth tends to appear from nothing to those wonderful guys that drive around in luxury cars and claim to be "millionaires", there's an awful lot that the most strict roleplayer could point his finger and laugh at. And most of the time, the most used excuse is "I didn't knew", and this guide is an attempt to teach people how to properly Roleplay people associated with the Business branch.Part 1- Developing your CharacterPeople often tend to forget about this particular important aspect. As in all branches of Roleplaying, steryoptical characters and general perfect personas are things to avoid, specialy in what comes to wealth. In order to have a sucessful future in the area, your character must be a perseverant and hardworking man, willing to sacrifice his personal well being and leisure time to improve his business and his skills at it.In my opinion, there are three main types of businessmen, which are very different between themselves:Blue Collar- Often without higher education than a Highschool Diploma or even drop-outs from College, which either found sucess and recognition without a college degree.Ex: Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve JobsWhite Collar- Often have a higher eduaction, being top of their class in College and than being invited at their graduation to work as interns in major corporations, climbing through the corporate hierarchy to sucess and recognition.Ex: Warren BuffetGoogle the names of these men, and find out more about their path to sucess. You'll often find the common characteristic of having to face imense setbacks and hardtimes, things that will make your character more interesting and deep. The most common type of "millionaire" that we see in the ** servers follows this skeleton:- Adquired his fortune either by stat-transfers, farming scripted jobs, recieving OOC donations from friends.- Has a shallow and often heavily unrealistic story on how he adquired the wealth (Won the lottery, worked for many years as a Delivery Man, has a rich father.)- Often spends his money on expensive stats like luxury vehicles or properties, for the purposes of wanting to appear a sucessful millionaire.- Has poorly planned unrealistic business factions, which are only profitable by feeding of donations or intrest rates. You'll want to stay away from the ^ skeleton as far as possible, or you'll simply be considered a statwhore. I've gathered some arguments from players who Roleplay personas with the behavior displayed above, and I found an easy way to refute their claims."My character was a associated with a street gang, but then left the life and became a sucessful entrepreneur"Impossible, as your character would never be hired by any reliable firm/corporation with that kind of past, and considering that most modern corporations do background checks on their applicants, you'd never be more than a window washer or a janitor.Even if you established your own business, you'd never be able to earn the respect of the remaining entrepreneurs, as you would always be judged by your past actions, rendering this backstory useless."I worked many years as a deliveryman/fisherman and I earned that money fair and square"Considering the average salery of a delivery man, and adding taxes and all of that, you would hardly reach an acceptable ammount of wealth before the age of 60.Part II- Financing and Starting CapitalAs we saw earlier, most people tend to abuse OOC activities and privileges to give themselves a more easier start to their company, either by asking their friends to donate them money, or stat-transfering from other Alts. Both are heavily frowned upon by people who take their Roleplay seriously. The right ways to this would be the following:- Searching for a IC Loan, either to the bank or to a single person.- Adverstising your idea and search for investers for it, either by performing ads or sending letters to known philantropists or entrepreneurs. If you follow the above instructions, you'll surely be in the correct way to properly start working on your empire.Part III- Chosing your field of investmentAfter you gather a respectable ammount of capital to begin a small business, you should start thinking about what your future plans and ideas for a business would be. In fact, most people tend to put this chapter ahead of the previous one, in order to plan what they need for their idea with more accuracy. You should go for something that your character has knowledge/experience on, either gained by working in the said field or taking education courses on the matter. You'll rarely find a real estate de****per opening a nightclub on a IRL scenario or even the opposite. All fields have their particular quirks and little details, and you should take some time to research in your desired field, and to harness enough information to allow you to carry out realistic roleplay in what you desire.

  29. This server has worked its way towards a more realistic standard after having community discussions about CK wars. Although I wasn't for the CK war idea, it's still a pleasure to see this server moving in a direction that caters to hardcore realism. I guess I'm satisfied with the end result, because change in the end, where it may not be favored, is actually good. But since we're moving it in that direction, why don't we consider this next piece of realism? Nametags are pointless. Why? Because every character gets to construct their own face and their own clothes. There is no need to have it. To make metagaming less possible and to push for a higher level of alertness and consciousness while in game, we should see to remove these. I think that while some people may be for or against it, this will level the playing field for a number of roleplayers on this server. After all, are we are a heavy RP server. It's sad to know that some roleplayers still identify you by your nametag, instead of physically seeing you. What I hope to accomplish if this suggestion gets passed is, nametags will no longer be a worry when you're being hunted down by people or cops. I'm not saying hide everyone's identity, because as a person talks or yells, he has his (or she has her) own voice. Names in context will remain the same, because a person's voice can be recognized. Especially if someone yells, or talks. Now robbers will have to change their voices and the robbery will shoot right down. (But it won't limit players from still doing it.) It'd also eliminate clutter in screenshots, I believe. Healthbars are also pointless. Because sometimes, when a player sees that you may be at low health, they will use this as an opportunity to get an advantage over you. It's an OOC factor that can potentially cause someone to do something they wouldn't initially do without thinking about it. Removing health bars would eliminate powergaming, because if you can't SEE what chance the other player has, and they can't SEE what chance you have , they can't treat you unfairly or deny you a fair chance to roleplay in a phsyical situation that would involve the health bars. Because it's the same for everyone. In a compromise to any staff members who may disagree with this: I think only the staff should have access to health bars and nametags. And they should be forced to toggle it if they're in character. This way, spectating a situation makes it easier for them when they're in admin-mode. And they're still required to do what everyone else does when they're in character. So; TLDR: - Remove nametags & health bars. - We'd still keep names of people in context. If they yell, they're more likely to give up their position. If they talk, same thing. Voices can be recognized. - We'll take nametags and health bars out of the visual aspect of this game. It'll require people to actually roleplay more (Or simply think more) to identify someone. ____________________ PROS: People can no longer metagame your name tag as you drive by or walk by. You don't have to worry so much about driving around. It'll immediately kill any metagame. People also have to actually witness crimes now to call them in, get a face, a description, all of that. Text based roleplay will become more immersive. Criminals or killers can now start to plan and consider the right times to strike. With this suggestion, people can no longer /me describes, because you have to ACTUALLY describe the features of a person. It will eliminate OOC clutter from screenshots. It will get people's brains focused while they're in game, because they have to actually identify the person their roleplaying with themselves. It will level the playing field, it seems like there can be so much good to come out of this, and the only people it'll hurt are the metagamers and the nonRPers. Won't hurt nobody else. CONS: The ONLY problem I want to bring up with this change is, reporting players would be hard if they don't roleplay at all, like some do. You know the type. Roll up and shoot, no RP. SO MAYBE we can come up with a command that informs the player who killed them or maimed them without roleplay, like a /whokilledme sort of deal. It'd be against the rules to metagame it or revenge kill anyway, so why not trust the player with the information? Otherwise, if the offender/rulebreaker does manage to roleplay, thanks to the names staying in the context, reports will not become any more than slightly less difficult, because they can still be screenshotted. I don't really see this suggestion hurting anybody. But it certainly would be a reputable change in the way we conduct our roleplay. I want this to remain a brain healthy discussion for a brain healthy server, please. Hopefully I worded this right, I apologize in advance if my point was confusing. I'd also like to see some feedback and constructive, non-insulting discussion. (Maybe a poll.) STAFF EDIT: Please focus the discussion on nametags - Health bar removal has been forwarded and agreed upon.
