  4. "Suh, dudes!" Kristen Gary, also known as the local 'Vespucci Witch'. Is a strange individual. Raised by catholic parents in Vespucci Beach, being taught how to read the bible and go to sunday school was not the thing for her. She instead got the influence from the streets of Dogtown and Goma during the mid-2010's. Stealing liquor, cigarettes and bikes was her way of 'fun'. Not reading a book and listening to Christian rock. Being able to smuggle in Hardcore Punk albums from the various music stores around Los Santos, she developed a full on persona for the punk lifestyle. Leaving her home at the age of 17 to live on her own around the city, until she found her way back into Vespucci Beach once more, only without her parents support or love. To her, the street punk lifestyle was everything worth living for. Taking down the corruption and the jerks ruining her neighborhood was her true calling in life. She became homeless at the age of 18. Living in various dumpsters and containers she felt comfortable around was more than enough for her. She only needed her cigarettes, her bike and her music. Being around the various gangs on VB also took a huge hit on Kristen. Especially the Dogtown punks and the Goma Street gangsters. She could literally hang around anyone and be comfortable, except obvious outsiders, or as they call them, "Tourists". 19 years of age, Kristen felt more and more lonely. She didn't feel worthy enough of being around such an area like Vespucci. She figured, "Hell, I'm getting a damn dog!". And so, she went to the local shelter and adopted her trusty pooch 'Fat-Bastard". They've been together ever since. So what does Kristen do, exactly? She just lives there. Vespucci is her home, and she knows it. She loves every local in there, criminal or not. To her, Vespucci is life. Stay Punk, Kristen Gary. (This will follow the life of the Gutter Punk known as Kristen Gary! Follow her while she drinks, bikes and mischiefs around Vespucci! Get to meet her local friends, and the pesky outsiders! There will be screenshots everyday of her adventures! Let's rock!)

  5. GOMA BOYS, founded in the early 1980s, originally stems from punk rock cliques and bands. While massively racially white, a few Latinos and blacks participated in the scene, with gangs like LADS, FFF, Circle One, LMP and Suicidal, using drugs and descending on Vespucci, Vinewood and Long Beach punk venues and concerts to fight and engage in live music. It was in this clash of suburban white kids, working class kids, Chicano and Cholo culture that the Goma Street Boys were formed. Abraham Moya, and his gang of Vespucci-based friends were intoxicated by the violence and bizarreness of bands like Black Flag and other SoSan punk bands. The group was heavily involved in the drug scene and were frequent users of marijuana, LSD and other party drugs. It was the introduction of tagging into the group, by Moya and his older group of friends, that turned it into a proper street level criminal organisation. The participation of the group in the tag-banging scene gained it notoriety and respect on the streets. Eventually, by the late 1980s, the crew was inducted into the Sureño movement and the Mexican Mafia’s control through imprisoned crew members. Goma Boys, now Goma 13, was transformed into a violent, criminal street gang completely removed from its punk rock origins. GOMA 13 began flooding the streets with drugs shortly after it’s inception as a Sureño gang. While late to the crack epidemic, Goma participated largely in the complex Mexican Mafia distribution networks of the drug in the area and was used as muscle to tax small drug crews operating in the Vespucci area. Being a smaller gang, beefs were usually contained and between gangs of similar sizes. Their distance from larger gangs kept them safe from being absorbed. The only extremely bloody war that Goma 13 has participated in was with the neighbouring 9th Blocc Crips. Called into action by imprisoned gang leaders following the robbery of a notable Goma O.G by 9th Blocc members, Goma and 9th Blocc exchanged bodies from 1998 to 2002, with fifteen lives being exchanged between the two. In 2005, the Los Santos Police Department, in liaison with the FBI, ATF and other federal and local agencies carried out a series of raids on both gangs. 9th Blocc was essentially dismantled, with a lack of younger members being able to continue the legacy and older members serving long bids in prison. Goma 13 nearly met the same fate, but rapidly changing demographics were in their favour, and the gang was continued by youngsters. By the 2010s, Goma 13 was an established, small gang in Los Santos’ West Side. Notorious for the trafficking and sale of heroin and other street drugs, the gang almost operates solely as a “money-making” gang, with conflict between other local gangs being rare. In prison, members find themselves turning to heroin to cope, and often make unreliable Sureño soldiers due to a lack of violent gang culture. This being said, Goma members carry weapons and many members are still killers with a history of violence.

  6. I agree with what you're saying except for this portion. Realistically, you disrespect someone's dead homies or make constant death threats/acts of violence towards a group of gang bangers, there is a huge possibility that it's going to be met with violence. When dealing with gang bangers, you're dealing with people who more than likely have Narcissistic Personality Disorder tie that in to their violent background... situations like this can get really sticky. On the other hand, I personally do believe that some situations on the server escalate too quickly. It all depends on the people you surround yourself with. If you hang around with rule breakers, people with a DM mentality, or a play to win mentality chances are... the roleplay that you were expecting to get from certain situations won't be there because of this.

  9. Owen is a Vespucci local and self proclaimed artist from Tug Street, raised by a single father who is rarely around. He expresses himself via his graffiti, boasting that many of the newer tags are of his own making. Still riding on the teenage rebel wave which lead him into committing petty crimes with the locals for fun and to get his money up, fit in with his peers and to gain their respect. Avid marijuana enjoyer and a fan of horror films and video games.

  11. Robert "Ginger" Lawless is a latchkey kid with a fixation on appearing tough. Having played as a linebacker for Vespucci High until he was kicked off the team for bad behaviour, Robert preferred to hang out with the school's punks until he dropped out at the age of 16 due to a lack of enthusiasm on his part and any sort of attentive care from his single mother. Trying to secure some sort of future and for once having his mother urging him to do something, Robert attempted to join the military at the age of 17, but once again washed out due to his behaviour. Convinced that his life was bound to Dogtown, Robert began dealing drugs at a small-time level and committing petty crimes. After being on the receiving end of a near-fatal shooting over a deal gone wrong, Robert copes with his paranoia through petty crime, a healthy dose of meth, and the urge to see Dogtown safe and for "Locals only."

  12. I think the point of the statistics is to show that there are less homicides than there are robberies, brawls, fights etc. It obviously doesn't give off an accurate representation as the homicide rate on the server will be much higher just by default, but people need to focus more on other types of inter-gang violence rather than just aiming for catching bodies 24/7. Vandalism, robberies, brawls/fights, just straight up shit-talking each other and well RPed drivebys/hits bring so much more RP to the table than riding out on another block with the sole purpose to kill anyone in sight.

  16. Just wanted to say I really love the RP between SD and others. People like Blowin' Hollows, ShawnM and AceS| really keep the faction interesting. Thought I would provide some positive opinion from an outsider looking in - these guys are a great representation of what you guys stand for in your faction. Excellent job boys.

  17. To try and provide some clarity/context since you're not the first person to express concern about this screenshot: GED had been tipped off about a gang-related gathering taking place. A group of six Gang Officers met up, briefed about the intel they had been given, and then responded to the location to investigate. Upon arriving, they were met with far more people than they had expected - all of whom were in attendance for what appeared to be a 1v1 boxing event between members of at least two known street gangs. Instead of calling in airships/swat/beanbag shotguns for runners (not to mention the lack of LSPD resources/personnel at the time), my character decided to take this as an opportunity to "turn a blind eye" to the fight (which was taking place in a secluded location away from residential areas) - ask the gangs to keep this peaceful - and do so with a witty one liner about keeping the boxing match clean, no hustling on bets, et al. What you've been seeing in the screenshots re: the roleplay that took place is a select few pictures and few lines from everything I just mentioned above, so I can understand how it may look unrealistic. Hopefully the context I've provided helps a little bit to understand all that took place for you and for others who have expressed concern about that situation.
