The term "VDM" signifies that deathmatch (killing another player without or with poor reason to do so) has to of happened with the use of a vehicle. There is absolutely nothing wrong with an officer knocking a suspect off the BMX, as under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, a police officer may use deadly force to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect only if the officer has a good-faith belief that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, which in this case the suspect was fleeing from a shooting therefore posing a threat to others aswell as other officers. This is all backed up by OOC caselaw, I don't think there needs to be any rule clarified, it's plain simple.

We're RP'ing in what's supposed to be LA, I'd be more concerned if middle/upper class characters wasn't using obnoxious internet phrases, craving attention desperately. The robbery stuff I can sorta agree with but 99% of the population would be sectioned if they were supposed to breakdown the moment they were robbed or witnessed something violent, I don't think it's much of a problem. The people who seem to scream the loudest about this sorta stuff are just here to live out a power fantasy.

Detailed Description: The current process to get "shanks" in jail is via an IFM request on the forums and you have to adhere to relevant processes which are detailed on the initial requests thread. No matter what you make, you're given a switchblade (rarely something else) and this obviously has no end to the health of which it can have. This means we can't really give out trash shanks or ones that disappear. What I am is suggesting a durability system dependent on each shank that is made, they do not last forever. This would allow requests to not be under such tight restrictions. To begin with, I'm suggesting 3 types that can be accessible after RP. ROUGH IDEA - SUBJECT TO A LOT OF CHANGE / FEEDBACK If anyone has better mods for these please let me know, these are just the ones I could find, "Shank" is just the regular Switchblade. Heavy Shank 34 damage per hit (3 hits until wounded state) 25 total hit durability before it breaks (turns into "Broken Shank", you have to hide it) Shank 30 damage per hit (4 hits until wounded state) 15 total hit durability before it breaks (turns into "Broken Shank", you have to hide it) Light Shank 20 damage per hit (5 hits until wounded state) 10 total hit durability before it breaks (turns into "Broken Shank", you have to hide it) Relevant Commands/Items: Items: 2 mods for shank items, both can be provided privately to modding team. Commands: It would need to be an admin command to be used after a request is accepted? /giveshank [ID] [TYPE (light,normal,heavy] - The "general" command for any admin to use. /setshankdurability [ID] [INDEX] [NUMBER] - The IFM command to be used for specific shanks? How will it benefit the server? Ideally this means there will be less endless switchblades in the jail and people can actually acquire them much easier and more realistically through their roleplay so we're not limited to requiring them to be heavy duty.

Detailed Description I'd like to suggest a new mapping mod for the server below, cause atm there's so many issues with factions being so confined together which causes so many OOC issues. Many of the people I spoke to who roleplay in South Central on the daily (Gang related or not) agreed this would be a great addition to the server, it probably won't effect performance as much as you'd like to think. Most of the buildings in the video are already ingame somewhere in a model list. You'd probably would have to delete some of the previous buildings. As far as I know, there's only 2-3 businesses located in the area, so it's possible for them to be relocated somewhere else as well (If possible and in agreement with the new mapping mod displayed below.) Linda Yim (Cantonese: 岑琳達) is a 23 year old Chinese-American from the district of Chinatown, in Downtown Los Santos, born to a hardworking family who owned a local noodle shop in Chinatown. Growing up; Linda had a relatively chill and natured childhood. She would goto school, come home and do her homework and then help out around the noodle shop owned by her parents. She was also seen as the quiet one in the bunch, never speaking for the most part but did often go out partying with her friends from school from time to time. Linda would often party until the early morning, sometimes abusing substances like alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, lean and xanax when she went out to party; this led to her having an unhealthy addiction to xanax as she abused it the most whilst at parties. Around the time Linda was 17 years old, her father passed away from a stroke at the age of 57. This brought more stress onto Linda's personal life, as she got more addicted to narcotics and stepped it up a notch, abusing cocaine. Due to the fact cocaine wasn't an easy to find cheap drug like heroin or crystal meth, this made her addiction extremely expensive more than others, which led to her stealing from her mother's personal moneybank in the noodle shop to feed her addiction as it got worse overtime. By the age of 22, Linda was a notorious drug addict for cocaine, and had a few nose bleeds prior due to her excessive over usage in the narcotic itself. One night at a party, Linda almost overdosed after take a shockingly huge surge amount of cocaine, measuring around 4.20 grams in her system. She almost died, and due to this, it had brought more stress onto her mother, which would eventually lead to her mother dying as Linda and her mother had an argument one night when her mother was on the way home; leading to her mother crashing and having severe injuries due to being hit by an 18 wheeler truck. After her mother dying, Linda inherited the family business but to her surprise it wasn't all it was made out to be, as it turned out her mother was paying off a debt to loan sharks ever since her father passed, with the bill suspiciously increasing yearly. It was around this time that Linda met Leo Fang, who at the time seemed to be a genuine helping hand to help her with her loan sharking issue and pay off the debts, but it wasn't all what it was made out to be as Linda would soon face a huge plot twist after getting help from Leo.

There’s no such thing as “correct vernacular”, people can talk however the fuck they want. The stereotypes that people perceive as social norms amongst different nationalities and groups on the server are just divisive and stupid, and just make the server as a whole look more like a teenage soap opera writer’s impression of California as opposed to a realistic one. It’s 2021, people are influenced by popular culture from all different sorts of media. Tom Hanks’ son speaks Patois, is it really unheard of for a 25 year old woman to say dude? Once you manage to date a girl in real life you’re going to come to find that they’re not the perfect idyllic little creatures that you fantasise about them being. They’re gross humans just like dudes. As a rule of thumb, if someone is metagaming and it’s not affecting anyone (I.e. you’re not losing anything) you don’t need to waste everyone’s time and take it to the report section. Don’t be that guy. Nobody likes that guy. Send the person a PM first, if they’re not receptive to that? Then sure, go ahead and report them. In most cases the person may not even realise they’re doing it. However, besides the example of people assuming drug weights, nothing you’ve stated in this thread is actually metagaming, it’s just players not conforming to your narrow perception of what constitutes a norm. Women can say dude, age doesn’t necessarily constitute trade skills, getting robbed for the equivalent of $6 and suffering no physical trauma isn’t actually THAT big of a deal to a lot of people (especially if you’re conditioned to it) and people have been trading assets since the dawn of time - that is how FIAT became a thing in the first place.

I do very much agree with the internet vocabulary being used a little too much. Seeing female characters speak, behave and act as a bunch of guys on the internet is always very immersion breaking. When women speak to Habeeb as if they're jocks on the schools football team it just doesn't seem right at all. As for the service thing, I think it stems from a lot of businesses in LS ICly being "mom and pop" type stores. Everything is owned independently and few would be corporations. Only your burger shots and bean machines (which are rare lately) could really be passed off ICly as being part of a franchise and having to uphold a set corporate standard.

Pretty much all of them outside of nightclubs and government jobs? The server economy is set up so that the only people getting regular income are those who receive the government 'budget', whereas everyone else has to fight for scraps from LFM. A great example of this is that one PR guy in the LSPD gets more than the entirety of a legal factions monthly budget from LFM. There's really what, two legal factions that aren't related to the government? Then there's about 8-10 government related factions and about 20 illegal ones + all the groups? The 'legal roleplay' scene doesn't really exist on this server and that's because there's not really interest in supporting it by the management team. At this point it feels like your RP options are: stripclubs, nightclubs, LEO/EMS or being a criminal; there's very little actual depth to the server.
