Jesu1
Security guards should have guns, if this thread is made in regards to Security acting as 'make shift police', that's a bigger issue than the 'remove firearms' portion. Perhaps if there's Security RPers not good at Rping, or unable to properly utilize firearms, the solution isn't removing armed security overall, it's removing those who are unable to properly control themselves or a firearm, and unable to portray a security guard properly and involving LFM if it is a re-occurring trend. Armed Security exist to prevent and remove Armed subjects in clubs etc. LEO response time both IRL and IG isn't quick enough to prevent a shooting from occurring or any other crime with a deadly weapon. TLDR; Don't remove armed security, but rather deal with those who abuse/improperly portray being an armed security guard. 2 1 Link to comment

Tbh roleplay around weapons IS a much wider issue that needs addressed because sadly many do not know how to roleplay around guns or escalate properly, and that's not just limited to armed security. Disarming security guards won't make the wider problem go away, if anything it'll harm the server because there won't be any security companies left and it will alienate business owners because they won't be able to protect their business. 1 Link to comment
DLimit
The masses want to disarm security guards but then all proceed towards abolishing "Good Cause" for ordinary civilians. Please, make up your minds. 1 1 Link to comment
Memozzy
Gotta keep those civies nicely soft and unarmed after all. I mean who likes to rob, beat and abuse people who can resist after all? /s Link to comment
dreko
My honest opinion would be to just get the stupid security guards out of here (the guards that simply cannot portray a security guard in a Los Angeles modern day setting.) I do not think the guards should be disarmed as they need their firearms for emergency cases, if there is a shooting outside of the club they need to be there to protect life and property... namsayin? I, personally have role-played an armed guard before so I know how it is. Most of the people I role-played with when I was guarding the Rockford Casino and Perseus were all solid role-playing guards. It's all about who is behind the screen writing up those /me's and thinking about what their character will do next. If the player is being stupid AF, the character will be stupid AF. I do not think security guard role-players should be disarmed. Have a strike system maybe if you fuck up two times then LFM gets on your ass, and depending on how much you fuck around, the more you find out. As in getting an OOC flag on your record that you are not able to role-play a security guard for all Security Firms to see... maybe when your background investigator handles your security application LFM notifies them of your conduct; so on and so forth. If your role-play quality is poor and you can't properly portray a security guard, don't fucking sign up for it. Saves a whole lot of time and reports for yourself, LFM (admins), and civilian roleplayers. I will go back to my opinion, I do not think the guards should be disarmed as they need their firearms for emergency cases. 1 Link to comment
Engelbert
I have a simple rule of myself regarding roleplay. Which is simply Roleplay. I tend to watch others roleplaying on my chars when I am bored. And I noticed one thing. People love conflicts regarding of what they are portraying, they treat PVP like the core of their roleplay. But in the end it all depends on portrayal. Whether they should be armed or not, is mostly IC reaction on crime rate in the city. Nearly every business has been Trolled IC or OOC by someone and unless an admin clearly establishes what's IC and what's OOC in said situation, people are to proceed IC. That aside. Los Santos is not Los Angeles, we have different layout, names, brands and we surely don't have millions of people in population. I can't say much about the necessity of guns in the city, given I never owned any on any of my characters. This is more about quality of portrayal given we have individuals who mostly log in for robberies and general mischief, while forgetting to also roleplay their daily life. Paenymion
I like having good guys with guns, who have some legit IC training so that they can push back against criminals without the "failure to show fear" thing. Adds a bit of balance to the streets/businesses. 1 Link to comment
