  1. It seems like people only use it to mock ideas by tagging others. If somebody is interested they can look themselves, or you can tell them on disc.

  3. I'd like to see LEOs "lead by example" on this, and currently some do not. They speed around and don't stop at junctions, without ELS on. And WITH ELS? They speed through at like 120 without even slowing. So new players see this going on, even from LEOs...and think it's acceptable. There needs to be a better and easier way for people to report poor driving from LEOs, perhaps a central, publicly visible place on the forum where videos can be posted. Make it easy for this stuff to be called out. And yes i'm kind of picking on you, not because I "dislike LEOs" but because people look to you guys for high standards. If you're not driving properly, people see that as the standard of the server. FD on the other hand? I always see them drive really well. Ambulances always stopping at junctions, not speeding, even with ELS on they use caution etc. So it IS possible.
  4. Last time I tried suggesting this I was told people liked it because it gives them a reason to eat food....so uh....supporting this second attempt I guess?
  5. There's no real consequence to anything so nobody fears driving infractions. Plus, a lot of LEOs ignore most infractions, and don't even stop at lights or follow the speed limit themselves. Only time I really see traffic enforcement is when the server is quiet in the mornings and afternoons. It's literally the most dangerous time to drive, from a getting pulled over/ticketed perspective. At night you can drive like a total loon and nobody cares because the cops are all tied up on shootings and pursuits.
  6. Some of the R19 violations are kinda small though, like doing one of the sexual anims in public, as a troll or whatever.
  7. For medic retention: I'd like to see a script whereby a person who wishes to roleplay something other than a GSW (heart attack, broken leg, allergic reaction...etc) can be matched with a medical roleplayer who is looking for something to do. Right now, you have no idea if there would be a medic willing to roleplay with you. I'm thinking something like /openformedicalRP which FD/PHMC can set, which perhaps shows something on /onduty where it says "detailed medical calls: encouraged". At this point, people know there is a medic looking for something other than a GSW. Same for fire actually - I sometimes thought about creating an interesting fire-related call like a stuck cat or a stranded boat with a broken engine. But we need to know somebody would be INTERESTED in responding to that. And I think a script could help "matchmake" in that regard. If we create this variety in calls, medics might stay and be more motivated. But we need to know somebody is online and willing to respond before doing it. An alternative could be like /proposemedicalscene and then you describe it. and that gets sent to FD/PHMC and they can PM you to say "yessss do it" or you don't get a reply and then you know not to bother.
  8. Main issue in my mind: 1) Heavy focus on realism in treatments doesn't match what most players want. Ok I know, you love medical RP and you are a doctor/medic/in medical school in RL and that's AWESOME. But the fact is, most of the players are not. They just got shot in a scene that will probably be voided anyway. They do not want long emotes with excessive detail. They don't wanna lay there answering questions they know NOTHING about. Is your leg fracture a compound fracture or the other type. Do the pupils dilate? They didn't ASK to be shot because they love medical RP. All they want is a sensible and reasonable conclusion to the situation of being shot - which most of the time is a bit of simple RP treatment in the street and then to be driven to hospital. Suggestion: Have one medical faction dedicated to detail and realistic medical RP (PHMC?). Convert another one to being more "movie style", where yes they do RP at a scene but the main focus is to actually /ATTEND/ and whisk people away to hospital....therefore providing an actual conclusion to shooting scenes that isn't just NPCing it. This faction might become popular as it would be more action style and less academic. If people DO want the detailed RP, they could specifically request PHMC, who also have ambulances and can come and engage with you. Everyone wins.
  9. Somehow the render distance seems incredibly short for planes? Like if you stand in Sandy Airfield and watch a plane take off or land, they vanish so soon, it seems way closer than it is for cars.
  10. Yes, it's because the server is almost constantly under attack. You can press F1 until the server selection comes up, then click to rejoin. Wait like 20 seconds then do it again until it connects!
  11. The rule only states you can't MURDER a law enforcement officer. I don't see anything saying you can't shoot them to the edge of their life, or beat the hell out of them.
  12. Exactly this. After more thought, I believe there is something missing in the script. Our characters can "go home" in the background when we choose to spawn at our house the next day, but our vehicles are left behind. This is an oversight, and fixveh is the best and only command we have to fill the gap even if it wans't intended to be used in that way. We need something like /bringvehicleshome which has an 8 hour cooldown, or to just keep being fine with /fixveh being used (which 99% of people are).
  13. Well what we have now is a choice on where to spawn. If a character can teleport around the city, it doesn't make sense that their vehicle cannot. How did my character get home??
  14. Fixveh is a very useful command and I don't agree that people "abuse" it. If I have some fun RP in Paleto and then go to sleep OOCly....next day I click to spawn at my house. Should I really have to RP that my car is still in Paleto? Why couldn't my character have driven back home in the background? I don't really see who is harmed by this, other than perhaps a taxi driver who might have to drive me back to Paleto the next day, for no IC reason that makes any sense.
  15. Not really a fan of creating endless amounts of rules for all this cases of "somebody might see something". If you steal a phone and you have a delicate mind, just....don't look at their messages?
  16. No, this would make dog owners more OP. We need more things adding for cats to maintain balance.
  17. PD and SD kinda don't do things for no reason in my experience. I know that recruitment into both can be VERY competitive and a lot of people get denied. People will do anything to get in, even if that means trying a back door by getting into parks or sanfire first and then trying their luck with a lateral. I imagine it's just a case of a small few ruining it for everyone. If you really wanna transfer, just gotta suck it up and start at entry level. You'll at least start above of the restin terms of knowledge and back story 🙂
  18. Not a character but I thought it was an amusing picture of LS in the snow 😄
  19. A lot of good tips. One I haven't seen (or I missed) is to find employment in actual player run businesses. See a cafe open? Ask if they're recruiting baristas. A bar? Maybe they need a barman. Good employees who actually turn up more than once are in demand so if you can do that you will make connections that way. Also if you're getting ignored by people, it's probably just because you're a random new person, and random new people come and go very fast in GTAW. Show people you're committed to that character and become a familiar face and they'll probably notice you more and speak to you.
  20. Only problems of showing them 911 calls, that I can think of...is that at certain times a proportion of them are not responded to. So you're gonna have a stringer turn up at "somebody got shot at Davis LTD", and it's just a dying person, the caller and the media. I guess such a situation could make for some interesting news articles though? 😄
  21. I like that. It would link in with the blood system 😄 So you could actually be traced in theory.
  22. I never liked the whole lockpick thing. Every time I fancied trying a low level simple thief, the thought of having to visit pawn shops to check if they had lockpicks in stock and pay 10k for them put me off. Just feels too metagamey/RPGish and weird to me.
  23. I think voids are sometimes necessary but they're perhaps too common. I think this because we're at a point where if there's a shooting people are instantly like "it will probably be voided" and they don't really take it seriously.
