Never heard of LS Chat before I read this topic.
  2. Ah yes of course, "the economy isn't fucked" that's why you have ~30 players from all shapes and sizes at the pier fishing to farm money at any given time, regardless of their character story or background. That's such a better system, they must've thought about this hard and long. Sure does improve roleplay and immersion. I too go to a pier to catch some fish and shove them in my back pocket to then sell them off by the truckloads to make a bit of income, it's my daily job!
  3. This is what we truly need:
  4. Not much of a jail roleplayer but I can imagine how the rules in relation to needing prison guards online for certain acts can be detrimental to roleplay, at the same time for the sake of realistic roleplay scenes said guards do actually need to be present in order to reasonably respond to situations happening. However, from personal experience I can tell you that roleplaying a prison guard is not something most people enjoy, especially not long term. People join and get burned out after two weeks and youll rarely see them, a faction only dedicated toward this is probably not going to work out as well as most people assume unless you provide incentive with crazy rewards like an unreasonable amount of salary. On another note, some of the toxic posts on this thread has actively steered me away from wanting anything to do with prison roleplay, so good job on that gentlemen.
  5. Because of a complete lack of input or response from green names who are responsible for the OOC guidelines that have apparently been forced upon FLD. I presented legitimate issues with the system and the response was to take it IC. You can't take it IC, I've tried. Senators here are telling you, they've tried. FLD members here are just repeating the same narrative over and over again. OK, we get it. FLD are not responsible for the regulations they were given. They effectively just enforce it. Now can we move past that and focus on the fact that this is not aimed toward FLD as a whole but the individual(s) responsible for giving them these insane regulations? That'll probably get us a whole lot further without constantly hearing from the same people again and again.
  6. Honestly another answer which is very disappointing to see, it's actually not easy or improved. It's very easy to be saying all this when you're privy to all the information, I call the system predatory because it has been like this for a long time. SHAFT information and information provided on the FLD forums don't always match. Meaning there are two correct answers to some of the questions. There are questions in there that have absolutely NOTHING to do with a concealed carry permit. There are also questions which are purposely worded in a way to trick you. You seem to forget that one's OOC intelligence doesn't necessarily reflect the intelligence level of their character, nobody wants to roleplay a self insert. You have to test on KNOWLEDGE in relation to concealed carry license regulations and that's it. Another point I'd like to make which also explains why the system is predatory, there is no education. You can fail the exam 5x and nobody will ever point out to you what you did wrong. You can't improve, people can read the shaft regulations and FLD information a zillion times but they can still and will still fail trick questions in which case they start guessing on future exams because they have no idea on what to improve. Resulting in what people mentioned earlier on the thread, it becoming a game of luck in some cases. ICly this is also ridiculous, imagine finishing the exam and passing it with a 19/20 mark and the question you had wrong is a VERY important and dangerous one to not know, you wouldn't tell someone about that and just let them loose with a firearm? Education is important for player engagement and allowing personal growth.
  7. Disappointing to see this answer, you don't need a lot of things on this server to have fun but it does make it MORE fun. Why in the world would you not want players to have the most fun and reach the full potential of the development they would like for their character which is being halted by a predatory system? Honestly, responses like this make me lose faith in some of my fellow roleplayers and explains some of the toxic us vs them mindset some people here have. Facilitate people to have fun and they'll do the same for you as they're having a good time. Which at the end of the day is what we're here for, to have a good time. Unless your idea of a good time is to fail a bunch of people because of a poorly designed exam and an extremely strange and illegal good cause system.
  8. Okay here we go again. I've said this to you FOUR times already on similar threads as these so I guess I'll repeat myself like a robot until you can fully understand. I reached out to LFM, they told me it is Nervous who handles these things. I reach out to Nervous, he tells me he has NO clue about any of this and its not him making the decisions. I get sent all over the place but nobody takes responsibility. I can happily show you all the private message conversations with them if you do not believe me. This is something I've been passionate about for a while and I've gone down all the routes that are available and I was basically made to be a dog who endlessly chases its own tail. It has come to the point where the predatory FLD practices, regardless who's responsible for them is now actively pushing players away to other communities. One of my faction members was banned from applying for a CCW for THREE MONTHS because he failed it so often, despite being fully aware of all the laws, being a good "employee" and never having been in trouble. He's now moving to another community, along with his friends to roleplay the EXACT same things he wanted to roleplay here on GTA:W. That being an armed bodyguard. This system is now actively turning players away and extremely detrimental to player retention. Perhaps this feeling of competition with other communities will finally have these terrible systems reviewed because there are now alternatives to be doing the exact same thing without feeling like you're being dicked around. Speaking of the predatory practices in relation to the CCW good cause justification, let me point out something hilarious which pretty much just showcases how broken the system is and how you should take anything with a grain of salt that is being shilled by some of the FLD members here. In order to be an ARMED bodyguard you need the following: A PF license. A guard card license. But also a concealed carry license, as per the concealed carry regulations: Yet, if you write down in your concealed carry good cause justification that you need the concealed carry permit in order to do your job as an armed bodyguard you will be denied for it. That's absolutely ridiculous no matter what people want to tell me. Again, start treating people like fellow community members instead of another number you need to screw over in order to keep CCW numbers artificially low through predatory practices. Banning people for a month(s) over a video game because your exam is ridiculous just goes to show how some people lack any type of empathy at all and don't consider how it could stall or ruin someone's character in some fashion. Which goes against anything a community of roleplayers stands for, as we need to work together in order to create interesting scenarios and keep the playerbase engaged. This is NOT it.
  9. I cannot agree more, the CCW exam is broken it is far... FAR easier to pass the BAR exam on this server and that says enough. And no, it doesn't say the BAR exam has to be made more difficult. Just change the CCW exam in a way where it actually tests knowledge rather than testing to see if it can trick you using evil techniques you wouldn't even expect to find in real life. That's not even mentioning the predatory practices in regard to the illegal "good cause justification". I also really hate to see all the shill-like comments from certain people who suddenly come out of the woodworks. These things have been complained about time and time again maybe try to look at us as fellow community members who try to enjoy the game just the same as you. Instead of a bunch of people who need to be tricked and treated like shit.
  10. Not sure how anything you said is relevant at all, I just told you not everyone wants to be a faction. Anyway, not going to continue discussing this here and derail the thread. Curious to know what happens if ATM's don't get filled up. What if the official factions aren't fast/reliable enough to fill these things up? Will they just be empty or will the script eventually fill them up automatically?
  11. Name them? I tried to get them and was told by LFM I'd need to become a faction. You try to request them through special lease requests, not only do you have to wait 8months and counting for those to open up. But you'll simply be told you'll have to go through LFM for these type of things. I don't mean to be rude and I can see you have good intentions but unfortunately this is going to be entirely restricted to official factions as of now. Enjoy the monopoly though.
  12. And the only way to get a Stockade or a security speedo is by being an official faction since it goes through LFM and vehicle requests are faction only.
  13. Some people don't want to be a faction and just want to run a company for a multitude of reasons. This shouldn't mean you get punished. I remember back in 2019-2020 we were told LFM would make an "Official company" title for this sort of thing. What happened to this idea?
  14. LFM quite literally told me the CIT deliveries are faction only. An arrogant response like this was unneeded.
  15. Preach, never understood why all these things are behind faction walls when they're legitimately COMPANIES. Some factions are just given insane and unfair monopolies and its not very motivating at all.
  16. 1600 reward that has to be divided between a team of 2-3 for a trip that could end up getting you clapped by seal team 6 with assault rifles? Yeah I'm good.
  17. TL;DR but I probably agree. I think letting the illegal community run weed dispenseries is going to promote a whole lot more meaningful roleplay than dudes pulling up next to you on a BMX to ask if you want to buy some weed bruh.
  18. The sad truth as to why nothing will ever change and you can run whatever "engaging" elections you want but if you can't actually do the things your character promises and runs a campaign for because it'll get VETO'd anyway if management doesn't like it then it becomes something people are just not interested in. It will always be background noise and players can only really use said political positions for status. And sadly, due to the nature of GTA:W as a whole especially after the pandemic the server has been getting abused by people with certain OOC "needs" and they don't shy away from using their fictional (both IC and OOC due to the veto's) position of authority in order to get what they desire. Politics isn't even their main focus since they can't make any reasonable change anyway which just damages their personal development/progression as a character rather than enhancing it. I both admire political character for still trying and find it quite sad because your character by default is a shill for the government to give people a false sense of democracy.
  19. Where do y'all even find all these corrupt cops? Asking for a friend.
  20. No there's a difference. The illegal mallrat isn't held back by territory or a certain location. They don't really RP much of a theme either apart from simply just being a criminal. They usually have 2-3 other mallrat friends which they use to basically roleplay a mini-group of men who all take the same risks and do the same shit. One day they'll go around acting as a 4man navy seal team robbery squad. The next day they'll show up with military grade jammers to break into your house. There's no theme, story or development and its all just an asset grind through illegal means. As people mentioned before, it's the equivalent of legal bartenders. DavisLTDrats are usually either people who are ban evading and just login to troll or came through the application process using a translator or used ChatGPT and have no idea how to roleplay so going to the most populated area on the map is their go-to strategy to interact with folk where they obviously have to be the main character, thus take no shit and constantly start fights/conflict.
  21. It's called the illegal mallrat and they're frowned upon by proper illegal roleplayers too. (Usually official faction members of OCG's will crack down on this sort of thing)
  22. They can already do this now if they want to, nobody is stopping them? Anyway, I'm not against this. Can work the same as the normal house robbery system, if they manage to successfully rob a bank they can be given a certain amount of cash to divide among their members. Anyway, this suggestion is about the safety deposit boxes for players specifically. And do not be fooled, this system does not discriminate! (Unlike some other imaginary fairytale tools/equipment) It can and will be used by legal and illegal players alike. This is a suggestion for everyone.
  23. Detailed Description The ability to store items in banks other than only money. We should be able to store jewelry and other items there also. Relevant Commands/Items N/A How will it benefit the server? The server is feeling more and more like a dystopian wasteland by the day. With the new update you won't be able to store anything in your home. House alarms are now pointless and a total waste of your money. 20k vaults can already be pick locked with a Skyrim-esque system which some players are really good at and takes literal seconds of not minutes to unlock it. Despite that obviously being entirely and extremely unrealistic. So while knowing that pretty much anything a civilian can do to protect their assets are not effective and absolutely pointless, we should implement a safety deposit box system at banks so people can store their valuables there for a certain fee. They'll be able to spend 20k a month on a safety deposit box instead of 20k on a security system that doesn't work realistically. Not only will this give players some peace of mind and add an extra layer of realism so we can ignore the unrealistic tools being used to break into houses in the future, it'll also prevent folk from now putting their valuables in cars and parking them in no-crime zones because it's the only way to avoid getting them stolen. It's a win-win across the board for the entire community.
