  1. And the only way to get a Stockade or a security speedo is by being an official faction since it goes through LFM and vehicle requests are faction only.
  2. Some people don't want to be a faction and just want to run a company for a multitude of reasons. This shouldn't mean you get punished. I remember back in 2019-2020 we were told LFM would make an "Official company" title for this sort of thing. What happened to this idea?
  3. LFM quite literally told me the CIT deliveries are faction only. An arrogant response like this was unneeded.
  4. Preach, never understood why all these things are behind faction walls when they're legitimately COMPANIES. Some factions are just given insane and unfair monopolies and its not very motivating at all.
  5. 1600 reward that has to be divided between a team of 2-3 for a trip that could end up getting you clapped by seal team 6 with assault rifles? Yeah I'm good.
  6. TL;DR but I probably agree. I think letting the illegal community run weed dispenseries is going to promote a whole lot more meaningful roleplay than dudes pulling up next to you on a BMX to ask if you want to buy some weed bruh.
  7. The sad truth as to why nothing will ever change and you can run whatever "engaging" elections you want but if you can't actually do the things your character promises and runs a campaign for because it'll get VETO'd anyway if management doesn't like it then it becomes something people are just not interested in. It will always be background noise and players can only really use said political positions for status. And sadly, due to the nature of GTA:W as a whole especially after the pandemic the server has been getting abused by people with certain OOC "needs" and they don't shy away from using their fictional (both IC and OOC due to the veto's) position of authority in order to get what they desire. Politics isn't even their main focus since they can't make any reasonable change anyway which just damages their personal development/progression as a character rather than enhancing it. I both admire political character for still trying and find it quite sad because your character by default is a shill for the government to give people a false sense of democracy.
  8. Where do y'all even find all these corrupt cops? Asking for a friend.
  9. No there's a difference. The illegal mallrat isn't held back by territory or a certain location. They don't really RP much of a theme either apart from simply just being a criminal. They usually have 2-3 other mallrat friends which they use to basically roleplay a mini-group of men who all take the same risks and do the same shit. One day they'll go around acting as a 4man navy seal team robbery squad. The next day they'll show up with military grade jammers to break into your house. There's no theme, story or development and its all just an asset grind through illegal means. As people mentioned before, it's the equivalent of legal bartenders. DavisLTDrats are usually either people who are ban evading and just login to troll or came through the application process using a translator or used ChatGPT and have no idea how to roleplay so going to the most populated area on the map is their go-to strategy to interact with folk where they obviously have to be the main character, thus take no shit and constantly start fights/conflict.
  10. It's called the illegal mallrat and they're frowned upon by proper illegal roleplayers too. (Usually official faction members of OCG's will crack down on this sort of thing)
  11. They can already do this now if they want to, nobody is stopping them? Anyway, I'm not against this. Can work the same as the normal house robbery system, if they manage to successfully rob a bank they can be given a certain amount of cash to divide among their members. Anyway, this suggestion is about the safety deposit boxes for players specifically. And do not be fooled, this system does not discriminate! (Unlike some other imaginary fairytale tools/equipment) It can and will be used by legal and illegal players alike. This is a suggestion for everyone.
  12. Detailed Description The ability to store items in banks other than only money. We should be able to store jewelry and other items there also. Relevant Commands/Items N/A How will it benefit the server? The server is feeling more and more like a dystopian wasteland by the day. With the new update you won't be able to store anything in your home. House alarms are now pointless and a total waste of your money. 20k vaults can already be pick locked with a Skyrim-esque system which some players are really good at and takes literal seconds of not minutes to unlock it. Despite that obviously being entirely and extremely unrealistic. So while knowing that pretty much anything a civilian can do to protect their assets are not effective and absolutely pointless, we should implement a safety deposit box system at banks so people can store their valuables there for a certain fee. They'll be able to spend 20k a month on a safety deposit box instead of 20k on a security system that doesn't work realistically. Not only will this give players some peace of mind and add an extra layer of realism so we can ignore the unrealistic tools being used to break into houses in the future, it'll also prevent folk from now putting their valuables in cars and parking them in no-crime zones because it's the only way to avoid getting them stolen. It's a win-win across the board for the entire community.
  13. Not sure if you're trolling me right now. The fact its no longer sending signals back to the main servers is a reason for it to go off. It's 2023, you really think people who develop security systems in the modern era don't take these type of things into account? It's not at all as complicated as it sounds.
  14. That's quite literally a reason for the alarm to go off at the police department and especially the security company. As soon as the alarm stops sending signals and the connection is cut off, it'll start notifying everybody that there's something wrong at this location. And that directly means it will actually go off as the connection has been severed/jammed.
  15. The definition of powergaming is performing unrealistic acts that could not be done in real life. If a jammer would be activated IRL and jam/intercept/distort an alarm system in a property the alarm would immediately go off. The fact the signal gets tampered with in any way shape or form would immediately make the alarm go off. With that being said, if this tool allows for this to happen when its not realistic or viable in real life, it is the quite literal definition of powergaming and thus the tool itself is powergamed. Please do some research on how most 2023 home security equipment works, especially the high-end ones. Respectfully.
  16. That comment was obviously aimed toward the fact the tool in itself is a powergame tool as it wouldn't work in real life without immediately triggering an alarm, hence why I said 2-3 minutes is already too much. But whatever dude, lol.
  17. 2-3 minutes is still too much, ask anyone in a security faction how often they respond to home alarms and how the entire house has already been looted within 2 minute response times. I've had instances where even vaults were broken into within a two minute time span. We should never introduce powergamed tools into our world and completely destroy the balance of things. It's unrealistic, it makes no sense, its a fairy tale. And the fact this update didn't come with a simultaneous update to allow us to store items/objects/valuables other than money at banks for instance is a clear testament that some of us are just seen as walking piggy banks.
  18. As someone who runs a security company I don't know how I'm expected to realistically interact with clients who start complaining our state of the art advertised alarm system failed to go off when the signal was tampered with since that's legitimately how home security systems are handled. I'm being forced to roleplay unrealistic shit for absolutely no reason other than to give some people a tool which is the LITERAL definition of powergaming. Hardcore roleplay server btw?
  19. Until you realize folk just low-key go to the LSPD forums and use the background check section and other publicly available sections to identify who has PF licenses, check their address and then target them specifically. You can easily make that 50k back if you find 1-2 guns as its rather simple to find someone stupid enough to overpay for guns. I still think the value of the devices does not justify the fact that security companies now have to deal with an unrealistic atmosphere to the point where they have to ICly start justifying to their clients why their alarm system didn't work when in reality they actually would because as soon as the signal is jammed, disconnected or tampered with in any way shape or form the alarm would go off. This is just a fairy tale mission impossible tool that has no room on a high/hardcore roleplay server and only serves to appeal to the looter shooter RUST players which is actually very disappointing to see as someone who has been here and supported GTA:W from nearly the start. The direction things are going are worrisome to say the least and I certainly hope this'll be reconsidered and reversed. While seemingly reasonable for vehicles, this is just crazy for houses and essentially makes them useless to store things in.
  20. You're wrong, we always check in with our clients to see what they're missing so that our private investigators can follow up on any information. Go past pawnshops in the next few days to see if the stolen good were sold, etc. It's nearly never the /robhouses command. Those are typically done on house/apartments that hold no value. People who break into fancy houses in Vinewood and what not (the ones who can realistically also afford us and our systems) are almost always done through /breakin and they go through the house like the flash. Going as far as to open up safes in mission-impossible like time-spans like we're dealing with some Gotham-city like levels of criminal masterminds. This pretty forces people to reconsider the way they furnish their homes and how its utilized storage wise. I wouldn't ever recommend anyone keeping any valuables in homes anymore. I didn't recommend it in the first place, but now especially it's pretty much pointless. I also predict to soon see a trend of people honey-combing houses to protect themselves in RUST like fashion against what are essentially RUST like offline raids.
  21. As someone who owns a security company, thus having to deal with property alarms on the daily. You are very wrong, I think 90percent of our alarms are in the late nights and early mornings when there's barely anyone online.
  22. Why only in Davis? Start perma banning every troll.
