  1. I was not sure if this is where I should put this if it's the wrong place PLEASE tell me where to put it. Thanks! The Paleto Bay housing market is a little out there. Paleto Bay has a lot of potential but there's three things that I feel plague the Bay that will be the base point of my argument: 1) Inactive players - Players once inhabited Paleto Bay and no longer do so make it hard for people who may want to move out that way or start a life there harder. 2) City moguls - It's one thing to buy a vacation home - it's another to buy a house then try and flip it for insane prices...to country folk...who don't make that kind of money. Beach homes be damned locals can't afford those houses at the prices in which you are selling/renting and you know it. 3) Pay Wages - I understand it's "the countryside" but if you're gonna charge city prices for housing and rent, you need to pay like the city. Otherwise, why work or live out there? I'll go into detail with each point if you're lazy feel free to read the TL:DR at the bottom. ❤️ Inactive Players I know Admins, PM, and the like do their best to comb out the properties of inactive players, I think part of the problem is that you have to log in for x amount of hours to keep it and so people will do so but they are not active. Activity should be much more than hours but I know that would be daunting to track forms of activity like money spent and things of that nature. So if it HAS to be hours it should be MORE on a weekly basis or monthly basis at least. I am aware people have lives and don't live in RP land, but it's not fair to those that ARE putting in the work, the hours and the grind and don't just want a house to have it and flip later. Again, real life happens and you shouldn't lose your house over that but if it's been 6 months for example since you've been on it's not fair to keep holding that house - come back earn it back or see if you can buy it back, but it's not fair to leave properties stagnant either, not when there's people who want to actively RP in these communities and build it up. City Moguls You know the types, fancy cars, nice big house on the hill and a country home in the country...that they never go to or use. These are the same people that will try and sell their vacation home for 1.8m on the market and think any of the Paleto Bay residents {who should be inhabiting those houses more than the city folks}, can afford that price. Now, my character that I'm main-ing does live in the city. She does want to live in the country however and rent out her current home in the city to someone at a fair price. Her reasoning for moving to Paleto Bay is that she's engaged to a resident, pregnant and wanting to raise her family in a more quiet place. Her living out there and working in the city makes more sense than the reverse. That is how it should be. Country folk either live and work in the country {because the wages make sense}, or they work in the city and live in the country {so they can save money and maybe buy a business in the country to work at as well, which also makes sense}. I feel as a City Mogul if you insist on having a vacation home you should treat it like an Air BnB. Create a Seasonal lease at a FAIR price for Paleto residents and make a passive income. If you're not paying a mortgage, you've bought a house and make no passive profit. At least this way? You make passive profit and people get to RP in a country community like they want to. However, as a city person you shouldn't try and overtake property just to have a flip for crazy prices this shouldn't be allowed - that's what I see happening makes no sense. Pay Wages I am not 1,000% sure on how pay wages are out in Paleto the only job my character had was a 2k an hour job + tips but it's not nearly as active out there because again wages vs the rent/housing market is atrocious. Pay Wages attract a community period. There should be liveliness in ALL part of San Andreas from Vespucci Canals to Sandy Shores, there's potential everywhere, as long as the pay makes sense. People will drive from Massachusetts or Connecticut IRL to work in New York and drive 1-2 hrs to and from for good money. People can work the Port, work city jobs then come home to their quiet country people do that IRL...they work city jobs and they come home to the quiet of the country. However, if you WANT more activity pay a little more make it worth while to live and be out there. My Point of View/Opinion As someone who is RPinga city bartender working her behind off, I should be able to afford a house in Paleto to start my new life...I can still work in the city and live in Paleto so that I eventually can have my own business and plant permanent roots. You can't create a successful business imo till you make yourself known in the neighborhood...that makes sense. THAT is realistic RP and story progression. Is this post a little self-serving totally 1000000% if I am to be transparent, however, someone tried to tell me: "Everyone out here lives in apartments, you can't get a house till you retire." ...in the "country" ? That makes absolutely zero sense. If you ask me...country living is houses, homes, and a sense of community in small tows. Very few people live in apartments in the country. If the majority of your population lives in apartments you're more like a city like Los Santos. You can't claim country living and then turn around and say people mostly live in apartments. That's fine for the first "6 months to 2 years" of living out there, but eventually? You should be able to afford a nice house or a fair mortgage that leads to you owning the house {basically rent to own}. I think if you OWN a business in Paleto, and work hard and have activity you could afford a house out there OR if you manage a business in the city you could LIVE in the country and work in the city. There's no reason why these houses should only be "if you retire". If you are properly active, and grinding money the right way or you know the illegal way no judgement, then you should be able to have a house. Makes no sense to me that the country side has houses going for millions. Beach houses be damned...it shouldn't be going past 1m even. Sorry. Maybe I'm wrong but I wanted to open the discussion and get peoples opinions and maybe suggestions! TL:DR Paleto Bay has a lot of potential but no one would be DRAWN out there to RP normally with the current inactivity, pay wages, and overall housing/business opening. Yes people can report and fight these inactivities but pricing still seems outrageous and unfair to what is supposed to be "the country". Paleto is a good balance between the country and city RP. It's a small town basically and has a lot of potential for community AND crime alike honestly. However, there's not enough openings to allow people to set roots and make a community and enjoy this kind of RP. Though this post definitely has a self-serving element, I've talked to people who ACTIVELY RP in Paleto and they don't disagree from what I can gather. Please feel free to discuss my concern/suggestion. I am still fairly new to how the economy and housing market works in this server but if we're talking about accurate portrayals and building communities I believe it's a universal concept, one that could be easily applied here and fixed just takes a little work. I'm sure Sandy Shores and even Los Santos suffer from the same problem.

  2. This guide will serve to help players understand the /breakin system as well as help give some guidance on how to make them more enjoyable. The first thing to understand is how to properly portray a burglary, and what it actually means. "Burglary, also called breaking and entering and sometimes housebreaking, is illegally entering a building or other areas to commit a crime. Usually that offense is theft, robbery or murder, but most jurisdictions include others within the ambit of burglary." While the /breakin system can certainly be used for burglary, it is not limited to theft. There are many other roleplay scenarios that you can do with the system or expand your roleplay from just a burglary. An example would be breaking into the house, having 1 or 2 guys search the property while another 1 tags up the property with your opposing gang tags, another guy meanwhile could completely flip the place upside down and trash the place heavily. We'll go into some more examples later. What we tend to see with break in requests all too often are poorly planned attempts at breaking into properties with very basic planning, often times even using their own vehicle in an effort to escape authorities. While this isn't inherently a bad thing given that its intended due to character portrayal, it can be done much better for those characters who are roleplaying having done this times before. If your plan is to simply lockpick your way into the property, grab what you all can and then rush out in an attempt to escape, then its a poor plan. Use your heads to get more creative, if you're not alone, steal 2 cars and have them facing different directions to make it twice as hard to authorities to catch you if it comes to a pursuit, wear identical clothing to make it harder for them to pinpoint who is who, bring a spare set of clothes in the car so that if you do manage to lose them briefly you can change into them, dump the car and no longer match their description, catch someone who may have seen you? kidnap them and take them hostage with you during the breakin or find one after during a pursuit, that surely spices up the roleplay if it fits the character to do so. I'm not gonna continue to hand people ideas as its much more fun for you all to come up with your own creative, unique ideas. However, something important to keep in mind regarding this, is to keep it somewhat realistic. You're not gonna set up a speedboat in the ocean and use it as a means for escape, drive to a helicopter and fly away, or set up an ambush to blow away the cops, this is petty burglary, going to such lengths would be deemed unrealistic. A good question to ask yourself would be "Why am I and my character doing this /breakin?" if your answer is to get guns, drugs and money then your mentality towards wanting to do them is flawed, it should instead be something along the lines of "Because trashing my opps house and tagging it up is fun" or "Because this scenario should bring some fun roleplay for everyone involved" getting any items should simply be a bonus of wanting to do some fun, engaging roleplay. Bad examples of a /breakin; - Your plan is to break entry into the property and then zerg around the place searching for script items and then getting out as fast as possible. - You have an expensive car such as a Dominator, make a good amount of cash from slinging drugs, have people slinging them under you and you recently killed someone. This is a lack of character portrayal. - You just met some guys and haven't known them very long, but are wanting to do a burglary with them and see what loot you can find. Good examples of a /breakin; - You've scouted out a property for a couple of days to check how active it and the surrounding area tends to get, then formulated a plan accordingly, stolen a car that can't be traced back to you or are using an unregistered one or multiple, you have a backup plan for if things go south that doesn't involve shooting. - Your character is a desperate drug addict looking to steal some goods in order to feed their addiction, possibly even stolen a car and during the pursuit, caught a civilian in the road and is now holding them with a knife to their throat shouting out demands to Police. A desperate drug addict is more likely to get caught than not, however that doesn't mean you can't provide some excellent roleplay. - You find a house to target, you be smart about it by conversing with the owner, catch his name and get to know him a bit, what his job is, what vehicles he owns, if hes happily married, if hes ever been in trouble with Police, all over time without arousing suspicion of your intentions. Then, you plan out the burglary, smash a window in the back and bring a new pane of glass acting out as repairmen, bust one of the drainpipes acting fixing that too, bring a van and a bunch of tools, then have a couple guys break into the house robbing it, if the alarm goes off? act like normal workers while having 1 of you run off if there's time leaving your other guys as a distraction, make in-game notes of a housing repair invoice to readily show it to the cops, create in-game notes of fake ID's. With the info you gained from getting to know the owner, you make your case more believable to the cops by knowing his name and any other helpful information, if the owner shows up, you can roleplay confused, acting like there must have been a mistake back at HQ. I think you get the point by now, with more effort comes more fun and enjoyable experiences, even if it goes south, the experience was fun regardless and it builds character development for future attempts by learning from any mistakes. The point here isn't that you need to get so in-depth with a burglary but simply to show how creative you can possibly get with the system. Sometimes stealing cars doesn't make sense depending on the property and characters involved. It's important to portray your character realistically when it comes to burglaries, a crackhead isn't gonna do much planning, someone who isn't desperate or a rival gang isn't gonna try their luck in a known dangerous hood. We often see people targeting Mirror Park under the assumption of "It's a nice area, must be some good loot" however they fail to understand that while Mirror Park properties are nice, that usually comes with a higher level of security, I can't speak for other admins here, but when I see this, I don't give people much time when robbing these places when its a simple break and entry type deal, but if more planning was involved and it makes good sense, then I surely would. Why isn't an admin taking my /breakin request? A number of reasons; - There's too many reports coming in during peak hours. - There's not enough LEO's online. - You didn't type any info in the request. - Admins are tired and don't have the energy or will to take one. - Admins wanna spend some time actually roleplaying. - We see the name pop up in the requests far too often. (Some of you we see pop up almost every single day without even leaving any info in the request) - We're tired of gangs raiding other opp gangs properties in hopes they find guns or drugs. (This is the majority of requests we get daily) - You keep bugging admins by directly PM'ing them asking them to take your request. (This happens a lot and it gets tiresome) - The admins online / duty are also in PD/SD so can't take them due to bias. Or they either know you or are in your faction, also can't take due to bias. - Admins may simply not have the time to invest into one at that particular moment. What can I do to make my /breakin requests get accepted faster and more often? Show us that you're offering something fun and unique, that you're not just simply looking to raid a property for guns and drugs, prove to us that you have what it takes to put a good amount of effort into your /breakin's which in turn will make a name for yourself and I can see admins looking forward to your requests or getting excited to see them when they pop up. Don't keep requesting them so often after recently doing one, your name will get recognized for doing this and we'll not take them. Be respectful and show a good amount of sportsmanship, getting angry at admins isn't a good way to get them to spend a good amount of their busy time helping you by supervising your /breakin's. How to request a /breakin Go up to the front door of the property you're looking to break into then type /breakin [message]. Your message should include information about the break in such as "We're looking to break entry into this place and trash it heavily, find anything worth taking laying around and then leave the gas stove on while fleeing." when an admin accepts the request, you can then go into further detail on what it is you plan to do and why, they will then ask you a series of questions related to the break in and why its happening, to which you should already have answers to that make sense. When an admin accepts your request that doesn't mean you can start roleplaying, after asking a few questions the admin will then likely provide you with some information before either approving or denying your request and will notify you when you can start. When you put in the request, you do not need to linger around on the doorstep, go sit in your car or drive around the area, pick up refreshments at a local store and continue roleplaying with one another until it gets accepted. If it doesn't end up getting accepted in time then its likely that admins were just too busy at the time and you can always try again another time, the important thing is to not get demotivated and once it does get accepted, show off that you can provide stellar roleplay. Final Notes We all know that some systems aren't ideal such as how property alarms currently work, hopefully we get changes to this in the future, but for now we have to work with what we have, people can still provide amazing roleplay with this system so long as you put in the effort to do so. I intentionally didn't just provide a big list of things you can roleplay with this system, its extremely vast and wide when you really put your minds to it and there's so many things you can roleplay. It's down to you guys now to come up with these and continue to provide that sick roleplay and to most importantly, have fun whilst doing so. I will likely edit this guide after the fact or add more to it depending so it helps players further understand and get some guidance regarding the system. Feel free to post below your thoughts and maybe even some interesting ideas you guys have that you could be doing when making a /breakin request.

  6. Detailed Description Fentanyl - Ability to make fentanyl with an IFM scheme, raw fentanyl would be extremely potent and consuming 1 gram will render your player unconscious/dead, the purpose is to use it in further drug production. Cut drugs with other drugs - Certain drugs can be cut together, reducing purity loss when cut. For example if the currently reduction is 25% on every cut when using another agent, when using a drug it will be 10%. Adding too much of certain drugs would increase potency of the drug which can cause OD, however increases buffs given by the drug (maybe even adding new ones). So for example, you could cut a brick of cocaine down to 10% purity using both baking soda and meth, you'd increase both the quantity of drugs made and the potency. Increase buffs from drugs - This is questionable, but I think people really are reliant on drugs in real life; they help them do what they do, whether that be crime (where people would take most advantage of using drugs as a buff), or general life. As it's impossible to replicate what drugs do to humans on GTA:W I think increasing the buffs given by drugs, maybe adding a health boost to all drugs would help the market flourish more. Potency - Each gram of narcotic has a potency, 100% potency can kill a first time user. The higher the potency, the higher the buff. Cocaine's pure potency is around 35-50. Weed's potency is around 15-20. Fentanyl's raw potency is around 85-100 Heroin's raw potency is around 85 Meth's potency is around 50-65. MDMA's potency is around 50-60. And so on and so forth. The potency is affected both negatively and positively when cut with agents, for example; cutting heroin Weed cultivation - Making the weed cultivation system much more in depth, allowing people who choose how they grow the plants. Seeds, equipment, products, and nurture will significantly account for the outcome of the plant, for example using certain techniques would allow you to get super yields from plants, so a 10 plant grow could yield 5000 grams however you'd be paying the price in quality/potency. Using certain seeds, and caring for the plants consistently would make the plant yield weed with a 20-40% potency, with heavily improved buffs. This opens the door for ic marijuana dispensaries that have access to exclusive seeds that produce 30-35% potency and can produce an exclusive legal weed. (Cali weed.) Increase addiction side effects. Relevant Commands/Items - Fentanyl - Drug potencies based on contents & purity - /drugcut [base drug id] [amount] [cutting drug id] [amount] How will it benefit the server? It will create a bigger want/need for drugs. It will allow for more danger around taking drugs, however more benefits. It will create a lot more roleplay for both illegal RPers and drug users. It will put more drugs in the market.

  7. For what it's worth I am someone who is fairly active in Paleto and has set up a faction in that very same area with the intention to create some RP and a bit of an alternative hub to Los Santos and I can absolutely attest that the housing market is absolutely atrocious because by and large the people who actually actively RP Paleto residents nearly never have property or the means to even get one due to the cash needed. We're talking in general 1.5 mil plus for any residence. Now my faction has been somewhat lucky with the property we got from PM in that it was very affordable and with other help we've made it possible, at least to some extent, to encourage local RP and working there to the point that we will not hire city characters in our places if it can be avoided. There is absolutely a need for more extensive looks into who owns property in Paleto, because most often you don't see any of it used or alternatively you see a house with 4-8 cars in front and usually of a fancier variety. I don't know what the solution is really, but perhaps PM should take it all the way to only renting out Paleto property exclusively to players that prove or promise to have their RP focused in the area.
