The Thompson Family resides and works out of Los Santos, San Andreas. They are a modern, upper class, American family who have a decent amount of money and own a winery in the city of Los Santos. The Family itself is long rooted in Los Santos, having moved to it more than forty years ago when Albert Thompson upped roots to give his family a better start in life, one he never had. Albert managed to buy the family some fertile land and to this day have created and shipped their own brand of wine throughout the city from their winery in La Mesa. This business is what the family have lived off for many years before it was handed down to Albert’s children after who’d kept it running and profitable. These days however, the profits they turn aren't exactly putting food on the table due to the size of the family and the lack of interest from today's generation for expensive wine. So James Thompson, Maverick Thompson and Yeardley Thompson have started looking at more ways to boost their income in order to provide a life of comfort and luxury for the whole family. Be this through legitimate means, or illegitimate. Wine sales have been dropping for a while and the loss of money is putting pressure on the three heirs. The loss of their Grandpa's winery, family legacy and their comfortable life would destroy them. Los Santos is jam packed with crime and there is a lot of money to be made by anyone smart enough and careful enough to venture into it. The Thompson Family will be breaking bad to take advantage of the easy money on offer within Los Santos. Greed and a need to leave a long lasting legacy that would bring honor to their Grandfather will be the driving factor surrounding their transition into the illegal side of business. They'll also be handling a legal front in order to keep the illegal activities hidden from the public eye and to launder their dirty money. The Thompson Family will be seen as legal, upstanding and a respected family by businesses and the higher class of civilians in the city however they hide their darkest secrets behind closed doors, only accessible to those who find themselves at the Thompson dinner table each week. The Thompson Family will operate on a hierarchy of members, be that blood related or people brought into the family through hard work and respect. The layers and ranks are as follows, Heads of the Family Family Member Guardian Employee Outsiders Family Heads - These three run the family from the background. Any changes, or new ventures will go through them before any moves are made. Any new family members MUST be accepted by these three. You will have to earn respect before they'll allow it. They can choose to have you killed at any time, for any reason. (Though it won't be for silly things!) They are the image of the family, people outside the family will know them as friendly, legal, respectful and wealthy. You do not meet the Family Heads until all family members allow it. Family Member - These are the Legal front owners and runners of the illegal activities. They are the ones who think up new strategies to make money either way. They are the most respected in the family and can help you make a lot of money should they think you are trustworthy. It will be hard to meet these members if outside the family as they are often always busy with their ventures and making the money. Guardian - The muscle, the brawn and the people who protect the family from harm. These are the people who deal with outside and internal troubles. Guardians will oversee Outsider progression and organize goon squads to carry out the families dirty work, no questions asked. Guardians are the ones will decide if outsiders are worthy of meeting the family. Employees - Self explanatory. Anyone working for any Family business in the legal front. These people are very well looked after and provided for. The Family respects and cares for their employees as if they were family. They won't often be told of any illegal activities. This is the best place to start if you wish to become part of the family. Outsiders - People who are interested in working for the Family illegally and are proving themselves. This is the HARDEST way to get into the family. You will have to show you are competent to the family and do so without bringing heat to the family. You will vanish if any Police come knocking at the Thompson's door. Outsiders will also have it's own internal rank structure as you prove yourself to the family. From Associate all the way to BOSS. The more money you bring in through illegal means, the more respect you gain which gifts you access to the family eventually. OOC Information - The idea and general concept behind this family is to create a group and then official faction catered around quality and welcoming role play, be that illegal OR legal, while playing a male OR female character, American or otherwise. Due to this being a FAMILY concept there is far more wiggle room to get everyone involved with characters people really want to make, as long as they are created with quality role play and realism in mind. This is a new concept faction, created and organized by myself, @Karner and @Drew McCallum. We believe the way this group will be structured will really allow people who are interested to get involved in a way they are comfortable with. This is the written version of the interview which was held on air, in the LSNN studio. Dennis Sidwell and Valeria Reyes in the studio Dennis Sidwell: Miss Reyes, welcome to the studio! Valeria Reyes: Hello Dennis, thanks for having me. Dennis Sidwell: Before we talk about politics, allow me to ask, who is Valeria Reyes privately? What are your hobbies? Valeria Reyes: Hah, my favourite hobby by far is cooking. I used to work at restaurants for a considerable amount of time. Hispanic ones, of course. We serve the best food, right? Dennis Sidwell: I don't know, Miss Reyes, I can't say yet. I'd have to try your cooking, you know? Valeria Reyes: I tend to host community cookouts at Chamberlain Hills every month, you should come by to check it out in that case. Everyone's welcome! Dennis Sidwell: Miss Reyes, let's talk politics now. I know that there's been quite some time since the elections, however, this is the first time that you're our guest, so allow me to ask you, are you satisfied with the elections' results? A reminder for the citizens, the Republicans won by votes, albeit with a very small difference. Let me remind the citizens - 457 votes for Republicans and 445 votes for Democrats. Standing at five-five seats in the Senate. What can you say about this result? Valeria Reyes: Whether I'm satisfied with the result... yes and no. I was hoping and expecting for the Democrats to gain more votes, but in all honesty I don't think either party can complain. I do however have a concern about the amount of people who voted. It'd be interesting to see if LSNN conducted a research to see how many people in Los Santos are eligible to vote, and how many people truly voted. Needless to say, everyone should vote, and we should find out how for the next elections we can get a better turn out. Dennis Sidwell: Considering the fact that it's five-five when it comes to seats in the Senate, have you noticed complications so far, when it comes to voting on topics where you clash in opinions with the Republicans? Valeria Reyes: It is likely possible that bills end up in a tie in regards of votes. It is then up to the Secretary of State to be the deciding vote. The eleventh vote, so to say. Whilst it is no secret that the Secretary of State does generally favour Republicans, we've not really ended up in such a situation yet. The cooperation between Democrats and Republicans right now is extraordinary, and I commend all my colleagues for it. Though we do not always share the same opinion, everyone is working effortlessly for what they believe in. Dennis Sidwell: Miss Reyes, tell me, what are your plans to do in the Senate now? What's the next bill or act that you'd push for in the Senate? Valeria Reyes: I actually just introduced a bill an hour ago to enhance the penal code in regards of crime related to firearm regulation. There's a lot I want to do, Dennis. Lower crime rate in the city, help the lower and middle class economically and address issues in our State that need to be discussed. Such as the death penalty. Dennis Sidwell: What is your view on the death penalty? Valeria Reyes: One of my recent bills, the abolition of the death penalty act, has been discussed a lot particularly on social media. I view the death penalty as being inhumane, and not fitting to our fundamental values of our democracy. The State should not have the right to kill human beings. Dennis Sidwell: What about abortion? Valeria Reyes: Though abortion is also one of those topics that should be discussed, I am pro-abortion. There is a difference between killing human beings, and ending a pregnancy through means of stopping a cell from developing. Something that is not alive. Dennis Sidwell: What can you tell us about open carry and firearms accesibility in San Andreas? Valeria Reyes: The majority of crimes in Los Santos involves a firearm, it is a major issue. I believe the LSPD's firearms licensing division are doing a tremendous job, and that the local authorities as well as the State should continue supporting them by all means. Legal guns aren't the issue however, illegal ones are. We're setting up a special committee soon to combat this, so it's work in progress. I hope we can make the city safer by enhancing the law enforcement against illegal guns. Dennis Sidwell: Let's talk about healthcare in the State. Do you think it needs improvements? Valeria Reyes: The healthcare in our State is great, but there's always room for improvement. I've already introduced a bill in regards of healthcare that would give the municipal authorities more responsibility and control over medical licensing to ensure the best quality possible. We've got great people at the Department of Health and Human Services who are very eager to bring changes, but the State needs to give them the ability to. So I hope the bill passes! Dennis Sidwell: And what about the education system? Anything you'd change? In fact, let me ask in general, is there anything you'd change in San Andreas in general? Valeria Reyes: ULSA is the face of San Andreas' education. Most people aspire to study there, and there is no question about it that the quality is great. I do however think accessibility is something that we should address. A kid from South Central should have the same educational opportunities as a kid from Vinewood. Money shouldn't play a part in opportunities of education. I'm therefore a big supporter of free college tuition fees for those that struggle financially, and the improvement of our high schools, particularly the one in Davis. Education is the way to combat crime, and director Milana from the City's Health and Human Services Department has already done a great step with the opening of a South LS Community Center, where everyone is welcome. Dennis Sidwell: Miss Reyes, I'm enjoying talking to you. Too bad there's only a couple of questions left! Valeria Reyes: Should've invited me sooner then, Dennis! Let's get on with it. Dennis Sidwell: If it was up to me, I would've spoken to you whole day! Let's go back to politics. Valeria Reyes: If only your enthusiasm corresponded with you showing up on time, but let's continue! Dennis Sidwell: I have a cliche question to ask, I find it interesting though. A little bit of a digressio-- Dear ladies and gentlemen, should I start interviewing sport players and Vinewood stars instead of politicians? I mean, what is this? They will save me, my fans, Miss Reyes. Valeria Reyes: Have you seen the performance of the ULSA football team? Worthy of an interview I'd say. What's the name of their captain... Justin? You should invite him! Dennis Sidwell: Absolutely, but I won't let you off easy here. I don't go easy on politicians in my shows. Valeria Reyes: Oh no. Dennis Sidwell: I'm joking, I'm visibly afraid. Alright, alright. Valeria, who's your favourite politician? We've estabilished here that I'm your favourite journalist, but, what about a politician? And it can't be yourself. Valeria Reyes: My favourite politician? Hah, Joseph Hoffman. No I'm kidding. You've seen the memes right? I gotta go with AOC. She's an amazing woman from my party who I look up to, and her powerful messages should be spread to every state and city. And then there's our vice president, of course. Living examples for every little girl to see that it is indeed possible for women being able to make it to the top, as we are equally good, if not better than men. Jones and Morales are somewhere up there as my favourites too, if we're talking locally. Lots to choose from! Dennis Sidwell: Talking about AOC, there's been several posts on Facebrowser, on the internet, that you've allegedly copied your campaign video from her. What's your comment on it? Republican Joseph Hoffman brought it up on Facebroswer if I remember correctly. I'm not too sure though, apologises beforehand. Valeria Reyes: The campaign video my team produced was indeed largely inspired by AOC, a leader in the Democratic party. I'll admit the speech was rather similar, though my intention was to spread the same message as her. From New York to Los Santos. There was uh, quite some critics about it from the other party. Particularly Joseph Hoffman who focused his campaign on throwing mud at me. I guess there's a reason why he didn't make it in the Senate? Oh well! Dennis Sidwell: What's your view on punishment versus rehabilitation? Valeria Reyes: The Sheriff's Department is doing a great job in regards of the rehabilitation system, such as parole. I'd look forward to speak with Sheriff Washington to see how we can improve rehabilitation, as it weighs a lot more than punishment in my opinion. There are rare instances however where parole or probation should not be possible, which are cases of the worst crimes. I intend to replace the death penalty with such. Life sentence without parole. All in all? A lot of inmates deserve a second chance, those who are truly willing to improve. They should be supported every way possible to achieve such. This faction has been formed solely by IC events. Three people were killed in a series of shootings on Tuesday at nearby locations in South Central Los Santos, including an industrial site on South Arsenal Street. A spokesman for the Los Santos Police Department claimed that the shootings are said to be linked to gang disputes stemming from the notorious 1806 Forum Drive Housing Projects. The housing projects have been subject to heavy police presence in the months that have preceded this shooting. The four shootings between Chamberlain Hills and Carson Avenue led to an increased police presence in the area over night. The suspects responsible for the shootings remain at large, police said. The LSPD said the shootings happened within minutes of each other. Authorities believe the suspected gunmen described as being aged between their late teens and mid 20's are connected to all four shootings. "These appear to be calculated acts of violence. All of the slain men were tied to the predominant gang in the area,'' said the LSPD officer at a news conference near the Forum Drive Housing Projects. "We'll be going back to the victim's homes, talking to family members and friends, trying to figure out what led to these acts of violence.'' The violence began in the late evening of Monday and the early hours of Tuesday with the first shooting in the Carson Avenue area. 6:50 p.m., Chamberlain Hills and Carson Avenue: LSSD officers were flagged down by members of the nearby Housing Projects who directed them to a victim. The man had been shot in the back of the head by in what can only be described as a gangland killing. CCTV within the housing projects saw the masked assailant snaking back inside the projects and out of sight. Los Santos County Coroner later identified the victim as 24-year-old Blake Marks a local high ranking gang member with several priors. 1:05 a.m., Forum Drive and Strawberry: A few blocks away, a second shooting was reported. The victim in his late teens, was walking out from Forum Drive liquor store before he was set upon and shot multiple times by a masked assailant for unknown reasons. The victim died at the scene shortly after. Security camera footage taken from the liquor store shows the masked assailant driving past the victim on his motorbike. Los Santos County Coroner later identified the victim as 17-year-old Orlando Keys, a high-school dropout who lived a troubled life in and out of youth correctional facilities his whole life. 2:00am, South Arsenal Street, Davis Avenue: Shots were called in to Los Santos Police department from the industrial site on South Arsenal Street. On their arrival, officers discovered the body of 21-year-old Raheem Reynolds. The discovery was made around 2:00 a.m. on South Arsenal Street, east of Innocence Boulevard, according to authorities. “It’s very devastating to be dealing with this," Tyrone Reynolds, the victim's uncle, said. "My heart breaks right now. It is heart-breaking. It's tragic." Investigators said he sustained multiple shots to his upper torso. The case is being treated as a homicide. Raheem's presence around Forum Drive Housing Projects has led to investigators linking this shooting to the wave of killings that took place on Tuesday. Police shut down all traffic lanes between Forum Drive and Carson Avenue during the early morning search for the suspects. The suspects tied to the killings are referred to by the Los Santos Police Department as extremely violent. No officers were injured. Police recovered a weapon during the early morning search, according to LSPD. Forum Drive and Carson Avenue reopened later Tuesday morning. credits to @EffPee for the logo The inception of Carson Mafia Gangster Bloods has happened solely through IC events. It occurred when Dopeboy, the leader of the Forum Drive Housing Projects, decided to break away from White City Mafia, leading to a civil war within the projects. His success coupled with close relations to the neighboring blood sets such as Davis Families Gangster Bloods and Dark Side Neighborhood Bloods led to Dopeboy getting in contact with his close friend Bernard "Babyface" Reaves, a Swan Blood gang member who has close ties to the Blood Line car that runs out from TTCF. It was through this relationship Dopeboy was able to achieve the sanction from the lifers in the correctional facility to get his projects red flagging consequently creating Carson Mafia Gangster Bloods. The older generation of gang members who pledged allegiance Dopeboy and the blood program remain focused on their money and low-key. The younger generation of gang members are the driving force behind Carson Mafia Gangster Bloods. Being the youngest gang in South Central, the TYG generation of CMGB are the most active gang-bangers and have the biggest chip on their shoulders as they wish to establish their name as the most notorious and prove their worth to their allies and big homies who founded the set. Although made through IC events, Carson Mafia Gangster Bloods is inspired by its IRL counterpart: The Crenshaw Mafia Gang, also known as the "Crenshaw Mafia Gangster Bloods" (CMGB), they are a long standing African American street gang formed during the late 1970s. This gang is a spin-off of the Inglewood Family Gang who they consider a close ally. The Crenshaw Mafia Gang has a close relationship with the LA Denver Lane Bloods and have been so for over 20 years. This alliance was known as the “Denver Mafias” by the 1st generation and would later be coined the “Mafia Lanes” by the 2nd/following generation. Other allies include the Inglewood Family Gang, Family Swan Bloods, Centinela Park Family Bloods, Weirdoz Gangster Bloods, Rollin 20s Neighborhood Bloods, Harvard Park Brims and the Athens Park Bloods. THE BREAKAWAY White City Mafia (WCM) was the result of on-going criminal activity in the Chamberlain Hills Projects just on the corner of Forum Drive. The community there represented locals and involved drug dealers as young as sixteen years of age. Their supply was mainly from the Morrison & Meadows Drug Trafficking Organisation and served as the running front line for the DTO's drug supplier at the bottom of the chain, as well as various illegal activities. Towards the end of its life the group was ran primarily by one boss, Bryce "Dopeboy" Harrington. In comparison to other African American sets in the south side, the set took a more backseat approach in terms of politics and relations with other groups to benefit themselves, and in turn, the organization. White City Mafia's turf dominated Forum Drive, and with their increased numbers and control in the drug trade the entire area was deemed as 'White City' by many southside locals. The return of ex-Street Boss Blake ‘Biggie’ Marks to White City was welcomed back with open arms by his old street lieutenant and now Street Boss Bryce ‘Dopeboy’ Harrington. Blake ‘Biggie’ Marks was offered the role of Street Enforcer to act as Dopeboy’s commander in the streets keeping the corner boys and soldiers in line. This was done due to the long-term friendship between Blake and Bryce, with Bryce even rumored to be the best-man at Blake’s wedding. As numbers in the operation grew under Dopeboy’s leadership so did eyes on the street operation. This happened along the same time the murder rate tripled leading various law enforcement agencies drawn to the main players in White City Mafia. The rise in the murder rate was led by a small number of growing loyalists to ex Street Boss Blake Marks. The rise in murder rate occurred much to Bryce’s displeasure but this was swept aside because of his loyalty to his old friend Blake. This came to ahead on Dopeboy’s own D-Day on White City, where the events of the night prior saw Orlando ‘Lando’ Keys and Blake ‘Biggie’ Marks attack several sets close to Street Boss Dopeboy. This led to White City Mafia fighting a costly war on three fronts against Dark Side Neighborhood Bloods, Davis Families Gangster Blood and Barrio 13. All sets had been long term business partners of White City Mafia because of Dopeboy’s leadership. Dopeboy was now faced with no allies fighting a potential war on three fronts. Blake’s actions behind Bryce’s back led him to become disillusioned with the culture and program of White City Mafia. As a result, he took his complaints to the plug Marquis ‘Qiz’ Meadows who ensured supply to the projects would be maintained even if Bryce took over the complex under his name eradicating any allegiance to White City Mafia from the projects. With Marquis’ blessing, Bryce began gathering loyalists to his cause unbeknownst to other White City Mafia members. Marquis’ blessing led to a string of murders in one night. In what can only now be described as a series of Machiavellian plays. Blake ‘Biggie’ Marks was gunned down in front of the projects by a masked assailant, now known to be Street Lieutenant Jevonne ‘Von’ Love. Orlando ‘Lando’ Keys, the main reason of the war between White City and the Brown and Blood Alliance was gunned down on Forum Drive a few hours later by Deshawn ‘Des’ Bennet. The fate of soldier Raheem ‘Heem’ Reynolds was probably the most indicative of Bryce’s attitude to White City. Raheem 'Heem' Reynolds engaged in a back and forth with Dark Side Neighborhood Blood YG Guala. To confirm the end of White City and the start of new era in the housing projects, Dopeboy and Von convinced Raheem to take a trip with the duo to a drug drop, a routine activity for gang members. Unknown to Raheem, at the location was Guala and other affiliates of DSNB. Raheem was the victim of the ultimate double-crossing by Dopeboy and Von. In attempt to display his disagreement and break away from the actions of White City, Bryce colluded with the Dark Side to set up Raheem ‘Heem’ Reynolds and prove this. Heem was consequently gunned down on sight on his arrival. Intense politicking with the Brown and Blood Alliance consisting of B13, DSNB and DFGB in the days that followed the civil war meant that the war ended peacefully with minimal bloodshed after White City Mafia was officially folded by the defacto head of the projects Bryce ‘Dopeboy’ Harrington. OOC Information Our main goal as Carson Mafia Gangster Bloods is to put out a high-level of gang and community role-play. We aim to portray a realistic atmosphere within Carson Avenue/Chamberlain Hills as a gang and as a community. Our gang is a fictional gang with a rich IC history in Los Santos, but the street gang is inspired by heavily Crenshaw Mafia Gang in LA. We mainly focus on character development and realism as a gang. This faction enforces a high standard of role-play and ensures that server rules are followed. We are accepting of members so long as they are willing to learn and commit to realistic portrayal of an African American community. Upon displaying realistic portrayal and development, members will be offered the opportunity to become affiliated with the street gang. This gang will be driven by the younger generation. Well boys, been a roller-coaster as a faction leader but all good things must come to an end, and this is it for our faction! We thank everyone who roleplayed around us and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours and where the road leads them. The MC scene is way to toxic for us to continue and its one of the reasons I've decided to end it here, it's been a pleasure interacting with all sorts of factions and If we unarchive, we'll hope to see familiar faces. CHARITY EVENT Yesterday, The LS Cannonball hosted a charity event to raise awareness and get the LS public a chance to donate to a good cause. At the same time, to prove that the LS car scene is not just teenage racers, but people who care about the city they live in - especially the less fortunate. A lot of money has been raised towards Hope Health Group. Cannonballers raised over 130 thousand in less than 2 hours thanks to the great people that turned up to the meet. Enjoy the pictures.

LSPD investigates a deadly shooting in Davis LS on April 27, 2021. Police Chief told the city's police commission on Tuesday that the number of people shot in Los Santos in 2021 has increased 73% compared to this time last year. So far in 2021, 445 people have been shot, compared to 257 people this time last year, the Chief of Police said. Violent crime, in general, has risen 4.7%, with 380 additional violent crimes this year compared to last year. the two primary areas of increase are homicides and aggravated assaults. The city has had 108 homicides this year as of last Saturday, while that same period in 2020 had 83 homicides. Homicides classified by the department as "gang-related" increased by 44% and represent just under half of shooting victims this year according to the Los Santos Police Chief, and the city has experienced a 41% increase in victims shot in gang-related shootings. 430 Grove St. Davis is one of the most active and notorious neighborhoods in the South Side of that area. At least 13 people were arrested in just a month. Law enforcement officers assess the scene March. 15 along Davis Avenue in Los Santos, where a shooting left one man killed and another in critical condition. Bystanders caught in crossfire, two innocent people dead. Derrick Banks stands near where his son Dwayne Banks was killed, along with his cousin Alyssa Michelle, in Grove. Short description: Administrator function that allows players to be married, or otherwise joined together, for the purpose of sharing properties / vehicles. Detailed description: This would allow players to be married, domestic partners, or co-parents. It would allow both players to utilize the properties / vehicles of their partner without having to use /givepropertykey or /vdup (a temporary solution that requires the command to be entered A LOT). In essence, /vget would list both the owner's vehicles AND the vehicles of their partner. Commands to add: /marry (administrator command, to be performed if two players are to become betrothed or otherwise legally joined to one another). Items to add: Perhaps a prenup document (just kidding, no items). How would your suggestion improve the server? As it stands now, sharing vehicles with someone (especially a partner or spouse) is rather annoying. Having to /vdup (with both players having to be online at the same time) is certainly annoying. Having this option for players to be married or legally "together" would mitigate that. Of course, players getting married or becoming domestic partners would have to be role played, thus making this an administrator command. Otherwise, there could be script abuse. However, I don't foresee it being too hard to monitor these events, especially considering weddings are always a big deal on GTA World. Additional information: Thank you for your consideration!
