Tackle system

This worked out terribly on lsrp. I'd not know how to implement it right.

Also has more troll potential than cat ears.

A clear no.

a lot of things worked out terribly that otherwise were fine on GTA World, it's a matter of approach and execution, not concept, you're comparing what could be done in 2010-2015 to what can be done now in 2022 with knowledge of what works and what doesnt from other communities, and through a much better script + over-all engine

Tackling was only introduced in lsrp in 2018 as one of it's latest additions.

The idea was the same as here: Instead of tazing cops should rather use direct physical means while retaining their ability to stun people for a time

It was not even badly executed, it's just that the idea turned out to be terrible: Being forced into an animation triggered by melee attacks turned out to be WORSE than tazing ultimately, both for those using it as well as those on whom it was enforced.

It broke melees in the most ridiculous ways (by the mentioned enforcing of animations), while tackling evolved into a widespread used tool (not just by law enforcement but anyone hoping to gain the upper hand in a situation physically).

There's 100s of suggestions open that would actually benefit gameplay.

This isn't one of them.

Proclaiming that a lot of stuff is better than in samp here won't change this- of course it is, but tackling is a terrible idea regardless.

And let's not start with synch.

Or "missclicks" after one "accidentaly" activated tackle.

No, LEOs has enough resources in game to catch someone, he either gives up and stop running or being tased at some point.

/Taclke, like LS-RP will help nothing but power gamers, if a player decides to ignore /me's - it should be reported.

Yeah but a tackle script would result in tasers and beanbag shotgun being more regulated and less used, that is the point. Most pursuits in real life end when they get tackled, not tased or hit by a beanbag round. A taser cartridge costs around $100 to use and they are not used as much as they are in game.

bump. on the LEO side, no one likes using tazers or running infinitely after someone. let us tackle someone if we're close to them - RP being physical, have fights, it's so much more engaging than having 6 tazers buzzing after someone because it's literally the only way to stop someone rn.
