  1. I wouldn't have minded if we hadn't invested several hours worth of RP dedicated to this one break in. The set-up took around 2 hours alone to park vehicles in locations for different escapes, get outfits, get everyone to the locations they needed to be, steal a truck to block off the bridge etc. It's basically made it so I'll never bother with break ins again until the system is fixed. It's a massive waste of time for very little pay off.
  2. This is what happened to us. We asked if there was a visible alarm box and were told no, so picked our way into the house and were given 16 seconds. Got one emote out before having to bail.
  3. Short description: Change the alarm system. Detailed description: I've been on GTA:W since early 2019 and have always been a legal RPer. I've never really understood the illegal side of the community, the arguments legal/illegal players have with suggestions and the divide there is between those groups. Recently started to get involved more with the illegal side to get a fresh perspective and after only a few days I already see the struggles of the illegal RPers in comparison to the legal side and it's actually blown my mind just how bad criminal characters have it. Myself and some friends hit a house tonight which was my first time doing it. We spent the majority of the day scoping this one place out, forming a really solid plan and I was really excited. I'm talking a solid 4-5 hours worth of RP planning for this one tiny house in the countryside that involved stealing a truck to block a certain road off, parking escape vehicles at a different location on the other side of the State, having eyes on different areas, organizing a potential safe-cracker, searchers and enforcers. Upon arriving to the house and submitting the /breakin - we were ready to go. We asked if there was any visible alarm box outside the property (considering this is a countryside property in the middle of nowhere that's run down to shit - we shouldn't really be expecting a whole sophisticated alarm system in the first place, but that's another issue) and were told "no". Within 16 seconds of entering the house the alarm triggers. We literally stood zero chance at pulling off this carefully crafted plan that honestly took us hours - unless we decided to throw actual RP out the window and just rush the place instead, which should not be the case - ever. To make matters worse, when we exit the house we can see a big flashing red light above the door - which in my opinion means that we would have seen that alarm before we even entered the property. Whether the breakin request happens the moment an admin accepts or whatever it is, it needs to change in my opinion. Back when I was PD, criminals would complain in /b all the time and I always brushed it off as "you lost" but I totally get it now and I'm sincerily apologetic for my initial thoughts on illegal roleplayers just being salty. I get it now. If an admin has to be present on the scene regardless, then I think the admins should be the ones to trigger the alarm. This automatic system does not give RPers the chance to actually RP whatsoever and there's a reason that the quality of burglary RP is probably seen as a joke to many. The admin should let the situation play out within a fair time slot of 1 to 2 minutes, depending on the depth of RP that is taking place. If you're typing quick /me searches the drawer - then the admin can have the power to activate the alarm. But if your RP is actually in-depth then there should be more leniency for time, in my opinion. I feel rotten for having the alarms I do on my legal character now considering it's just an automatic win in my case should my house or businesses get broken into. There needs to be a level of even playing field and a chance for everyone to succeed - especially if they're dedicating hours and providing good roleplay once in the property. Commands to add: Admin commands to trigger the alarm themselves instead of an automatic timer. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server?: It would actually allow people to roleplay, not just rush a property with quick one liners. Additional information: N/A

    Massive events

I think this is definitely a perfect example of where something can be set up to achieve government funding for this kind of thing. Realistically, even if they paid a small amount towards it - it'll help people provide things like this more frequently which is just a massive positive for the server as a whole. I previously had intentions of organizing a weekend festival that included camping grounds overnight until real life got in the way of my planning time. Trying to recreate that Woodstock/Coachella environment with artists spread out over the weekend. I think having an event last the weekend would be a great way for more players to enjoy the fruits of your hard-work incase they can't attend a night (unfortunately I could only stay an hour so missed the prime time!) Any plans to venture into this sort of thing? Judging by the success of last night, I'd put my money on you guys nailing the concept of a weekender rather than a one off.

    Massive events

I have done many times (not on the scale with the mapping, as that wasn't possible when I used to do events) and if you read my comments above I state the reasons as to why I found the fee could have been different. Again, I've given full credit to the people who made the event. They deserve to profit for all of the hard-work and commitment they put in. It's what the server needs more of. I am just offering to the discussion where I think they could explore other avenues to help fund these events in future.

Unfortunately, that's the bad side of business and I'm sorry you went through that but I assure you there are businesses/owners out there that would be more than happy to sponsor events in future. Hell, I'd have loved Hawaiian Snow to help sponsor the event if it meant DJs wearing our clothes or shit like that. There is a lot of opportunity, it's just trying to find the people who aren't entirely viewing it as profit, profit, profit. I'm sure there would be breweries out there that would happily sell alcohol at the event if they could slap their name on the posters etc. to. Perhaps this is something you can bring to the Government, public event funding. I'm not entirely sure how it works right now but surely there's a budget that could be provided for events on the scale of this? It would help people be a lot more creative and bring these ideas to life for sure.

Oh, don't get me wrong. What you guys did was wonderful, you can see the efforts that went into it and you deserve to make a profit off of your hardwork. Coming from a pure IC perspective, money for festivals are typically funded by sponsorships and stalls within the event itself. I saw one stall that was giving alcohol away for free, I believe, but there is a lot of opportunity to generate income via the event itself that was probably a missed opportunity - but understandable considering the scale you guys went for. I think the way the server is right now, people are always complaining of clubs charging the rates they do for their entrance - and events such as this charging quadruple the price for a very similar club experience (music, dancing, drinking etc.) could have a negative effect if businesses start looking at it from a, "oh, they charged 5k, I'm going to up my prices to!" I think there's definitely an opportunity for you guys to reach out to local businesses to help fund and keep costs a little lower for the average civilian. For example, my business would have definitely helped sponsor the event and I'm sure record companies/food/breweries would have done the same which would have introduced some cool RP to build business relations. On the grand scheme of things, 5k isn't a loss to anyone (apart from people that RP breadline characters) - it's the perception that more money-hungry players could look at the fee and start trying to tweak the economy for even more profit for their own businesses when prices are already pretty high for club RP. Again, I absolutely credit you for what you did. I was only there for roughly an hour and it was definitely one of, if not the best, public events I've witnessed and you 100% deserve to profit off of your efforts and commitment. I hope you don't read too negatively into the comment as I genuinely admire the overall event and it's wonderful to see players actually try and provide these things for the community. You guys smashed it and I'm excited to see what you do in future.

The way the Vespucci event was set up yesterday was great, the seperate interior worked really well. The 5k entrance fee was a joke and soured the overall event IMO as it just appeared as a pure cash grab. (Read further on in the thread for my justification before jumping on this with your "oh you get 200k for joining the server!!".) I think the seperate interior thing can really help things until the server stabalizes a bit better with rage updates - plus allowing a little mapping and stuff only adds to the overall immersion. The food festival that recently took place on Vespucci pier was also great. I think an events team could be a good idea. Allowing players to apply for an event-pass to set up an interior somewhere similar to last night and having the events team support to get things up and running.
  10. It would actually be great to remove the screen clutter to (I know you can disable it but it'd be better as it's own entity). Instead people can just type /ad and see all the current advertisements in a neat little CEF window. Full support 🙂
  11. First of all, I'm glad you find a medium of peace here. Roleplay is a wonderful opportunity to zone out of real life problems - but only for a time. Howabout, the next time you wish to turn to drugs - try and focus on an RP scene or something for your character. Maybe write a back-story or work on a character thread. Anything to keep your mind focused away from struggles or possible addiction. That is healthy, what you are doing is not - and you need to care for yourself because real life does not stop and pause like GTA does. Whilst the game and the community can help you, it's really important to put real life first. Those moments of comfort are fleeting and can sometimes only exacerbate your issues. I truly wish you well and I hope you find something you can put your mind to that helps solve your real life issues. Wishing you well x
  12. Honestly, this was really heart-warming to read. I think the important thing is.. the people who actually care about you will show an interest in your hobby or at least not care enough to judge. For me, GTA:W has been such a comfort during an illness, giving me the chance of living some normality - I think it's actually aided my recovery massively. If I hadn't had the drive to do something with my time, I think I'd still be in a bad spot. Sure, we all complain about things here - no community is perfect. But GTA:W is the best of them all and I'll be eternally grateful for being the one consistent thing I had in my life during two really, really bad years. My room mates know about it, often pop in to see what my character is up to or what mod I'm working on next - I've never really felt embarassed. It can be a struggle to tell them exactly what is going on, especially as non-gamers. But they show an interest and discuss with me - which is enough for me to feel comfortable talking about my characters troubles and goals. When I was learning to mod - my room mate sat with me from 7am til around 11pm when I got my first mod actually working in-game. We both celebrated as if our football team had won a trophy. That'll always be a memory I take with me. ily gta:w

A fitting send off for a wonderful character. Love you, Koko ❤️
  14. I can't believe the major complaint is clientside mods that for a good majority of the server ruins immersion due to no arms and checkered textures. If your entire RP revolves around what you're wearing, that's pretty problematic. (I run a clothing manufacturer, it's really not a big deal). As others have said, the server needs to hit 1.1 so that the stress tests for clothing mods can begin. Oggy has spent hundreds of hours compiling mods - including IGhoul so that people will be happy with the final content and everyone is catered for. There's literally a thread where he's asked for mods to include, go comment in there with your mods that you so desperately need for your roleplay. I think shitting on the content that people are spending time, effort and actively contributing to the server while you haven't lifted a finger is pretty disrespectful. You have to take a step forward at some point. The benefits far outweigh the negatives by jumping to 1.1.
  15. 1.1 has been absolutely flawless for me, in all honestly. It's resolved my regular crashing, my FPS seems to have boosted(?) and the sync improvements alone make it all worth it. Add that with a mixture of clothing mods? I think it's time. I remember playing on the server when where it'd restart constantly and had bugs that would be annoying - but we all still played through it. 1.1 is in a better condition that the server was 2 years ago and the rest of the bugs can be squashed as we go, hopefully. LETS GO
  16. Short description: Create a small area or command to highlight people around you. Detailed description: So we've all been there, when you're in a club or event and there's so much text on screen that you constantly miss messages due to the spam. (Or in my case, my non-native English speed of reading 😃) I think a cool little feature would be to enable a highlight feature (similar to the one we have) that changes the color of a persons text if they enter a certain "bubble" or area around your character. So the red bubble could be my effective highlight area. Anyone that enters my characters bubble could automatically be highlighted in my chat box. Same as yellow bubble could represent someone elses. Or, failing that. Maybe a command to just mass highlight people you want to include? Commands to add: Just an extension of highlight maybe? Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? Just to help people out in those mass events where the chat is flying by you. Additional information:

Solid character as per. Excited to see what's next for you 😄
  18. This is why I think civilian roles within PD are super important to provide RP to the station. No one wants to sit there alone - especially on a weekend after a week of work IRL. I think having more civilian roles around the station could really help with situations like this.
  19. You clearly don't follow a lot of people on social media, just saying. Sex has become very open to talk about the past few years, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat - it's flooded with sexualised content. Is there a lot of it, yeh. Do some things cross the line, 100%. But this is massively sensationalizing the issue IMO - my Facebrowser is filled more with gangbangers talkkINg likKKee thKIIs and posting gun pictures or beefin' a rival faction than it is horny posting. Why not report these things using the appropriate functions instead of specifically targetting people? Even if I DO agree that some of those images attached are way over the top - calling people out personally instead of just hitting the report button seems really petty. Minors are exposed to all sorts on this server - sexualized content, drugs, gang violence, blood, you name it - that's the nature of RP. I'd argue a minor being exposed to murder and gang RP is a lot more concerning than a minor being exposed to a "haha I'm horny" post. Personally I disagree that we have under 18 year old gangbangers being RPed on the server hidden behind a "but that's IRL" argument. I find it weird that a grown person would choose to RP as a child - but that's my opinion and I'm sure many others would disagree with it. Same as you might find it weird that people do their horny-post stuff. People have varying opinions on everything, that's what makes a community a community. I'd question people's comfort level RPing with a minor IRL. I know my comfort levels shift when I know the person I'm RPing with is under 18 - you naturally become more protective of them. I have to agree with others, under 18s shouldn't be on this platform because it's incredibly dangerous, not just the sexualized content but all the other stuff I mentioned to. The server has sexual anims, allows stripclubs, sex stores, items being sold (I mean, I've picked up random dildos on the street just by pressing Y to enter my house). Just because there's a rule in place "protecting minors" - there is NO guarantee who that person is on the other side of the keyboard. It's not protecting anyone, it's a veil. The best thing to do would be to either have it so Facebrowser is entirely friends based with no global feature, create an entirely new platform specifically catered towards the more adult-side of the community (which again, you cannot guarantee a minor won't sign up), outright ban anyone under 18 (which I feel is the most appropriate action) or outright ostracize large parts of the community that get their kicks from their sexual RP and ban it altogether. Whatever happens, people will disagree. Staff can't win.
  20. That's because Sims has an abundance of clothes that are really easy to convert and an insane amount of custom creations are pumped out daily. Taking stuff from other games isn't so easy. Finding a modder who will custom make 3d stuff for free would be extremely difficult. Some mod conversions are straight up terrible, I agree - but there's a lot of high quality stuff that fit naturally into GTA. You'd be surprised what a decent texture does for a low-poly model. I think it's important to have faith in Oggy and the modding team for what they envision. No one is going to be 100% happy either way. But seeing checkerboard shirts and no arms really kills the immersion, so /whatever/ mods they add in will only be a positive.
  21. For me, I think there's plenty of creativity that can be shared around. Why do we keep insisting on just bringing real life things into the server when there's enough world-building and lore (especially with the new continuity team) to actually create our own version of Los Santos. That sounds way more exciting than just grabbing things from the real world and just shrugging our shoulders at it because it's "easy". For a community of people that all rely on creativity to come up with unique stories and characters, I feel as if people look for the quickest, easiest way to do something. Obviously, I'm biased with Hawaiian Snow - but if I was to just call my business "Off-White" or "Vans", I don't think it would have the same feeling for me and I don't think we'd have anywhere near as much support as we get. I love seeing the stores people come up with based off of what exists in the game-world. Flickers Comics, Hang Ten Adventures, Trey Bakers, Digital Den, Mirror Park Tavern, Animal Ark - perfect examples of people using what it's available in-game to fit the narrative of the world we have to play in and that in itself brings a better sense of continuity/realism than seeing "PetSmart" or "Apple". You then have other places like Hotline, Malibu, Ji-Ok, Elegance, Prestige - who have come up with their own things and become stand-out businesses and locations on the server. This is the type of stuff we should be encouraging and praising - people spending time to develop their own brands and establishments. We have Suburban, Val De Grace, Ponsberys, La Chien, Binco, Kronos, Bobo, Lézard, Miss T, Dider Sachs, our own football/basketball teams for Los Santos - and that's just naming a few. There's enough IC brands out there, alongside player driven creation, to actually develop our own world-building and businesses. We don't need Nike and Adidas, that just feels totally out of place in our continuity and for me, maybe not others, ruins the immersion because Los Santos shouldn't be a 1:1 of the real world. An average modder can replace a logo on any clothing mod in 5 minutes without needing to read through hours of Photoshop guides. People are yet to see what Oggy and his team have done with the clothing pack for 1.1. But I think his goal is to ensure everyone is catered for and whether or not he's replacing logos with in-game ones, I think we're a lot of people are excitedly anticipating the clothing mods probably more than 1.1 itself. TL;DR - we're all in this community with the same goal - bringing creativity to tell stories and make characters that are interesting and worth investing in. Why tie ourselves down to 1:1 realism when we have the tools, members and passion to actually build our own version of Los Santos?
  22. Use OpenIV, in the search bar top right, type "tattoo" - it'll load up all the tattoo files. Click which one you want to edit, export selected as a PNG, open in Photoshop and edit, save as PNG and then replace and save.
  23. As much as I've seen, tattoos are just texture files that can be edited with stuff like photoshop.
