Yes but we're strictly talking homicides and murders here. And as shown, the actual homicide and murder rate in Santa Monica is actually very low. Whilst gangs do operate there - the main form of crime is muggings and robberies. Not "beating a 15 year old kid to death at the skate-park with a baseball bat for refusing to pay $200 to ride his BMX there". I'm all for crime happening in Vespucci. It would be dumb if the area was off-limits. Crime /should/ happen there. But its plagued with murders and assaults in the immediate vicinity of two police stations - there is a question of realism that comes into play when this happens frequently. And it really is daily.

Not true at all. The crime statistics on Santa Monica is actually pretty low per population. Bare in mind, this is not just the beach. The Santa Monica CA crime rate for 2018 was 860 per 100,000 population, a 13.37% increase from 2017. The Santa Monica CA crime rate for 2017 was 758.59 per 100,000 population, a 50% increase from 2016. The Santa Monica CA crime rate for 2016 was 505.74 per 100,000 population, a 6.6% increase from 2015. The Santa Monica CA crime rate for 2015 was 474.43 per 100,000 population, a 30.75% increase from 2014. Whilst there has been an increase in crime over the years, most forms of crime that happen are muggings/robberies on tourists. In 2018 there were 7 murders for the calendar year of a reported 5529 incidents. I've been on scene with 7 people murdered in one incident. The issue Vespucci has for us is the constant murders in the vicinity of two police stations. By introducing crime free areas to those spots, it could help lower the amount of death we see on the daily in an area that realistically wouldn't be ridden with assaults and murders.
  3. The link I sent was a Rage script, not a FiveM script. Tested and it works. This isn't about having crosshairs, it's about removing them entirely so people no longer rely on a reticle to do the work for them.
  4. Then go and practice? Like you should for other things? Want to be a race car driver ICly but can't drive very good - you practice til you understand the driving mechanics better. It is a game, this doesn't stop people having fun - if anything it could make shootouts more engaging and fun. But it's also a heavy RP server and you only have to look at the reports section to see people happily pulling out firearms and 180 headshotting people because the reticle does all of the work for them. Why should 15 year old gangbanger have a higher chance than beating a seasoned, trained cop in a fair shootout by relying on a little reticle to do the hard work. Shootouts /shouldn't/ be fair. A cop that trains a few times a week should realistically have a better chance of winning than a kid who stole his mom's pistol.
  5. Let skilled shooters shine, I say! Could be a good way to fill up those gun ranges, as well!
  6. Short description: Hiding the reticle you have when aiming a weapon. Detailed description: Commands to add: None! Items to add: Nada! How would your suggestion improve the server? I think this would really help with a few different aspects that can be looked at: It makes learning to actually use a firearm pretty important. You no longer rely on a little white marker to tell where you're aiming - instead you have to spend some time at the gun ranges training to be a crack-shot. Rather than everyone being a marksman, it could bring more realism in firefights. It will stop the 180 degree spinners, that aim at a target and then spin around for that auto-headshot. It'll make people think twice before engaging in a fire-fight. If they know that they don't have a reticle to help them aim, they could be less likely to resort to their gun. It lets skilled players shine. If you spend your time practising your aim, then LSPD Officer #232 who is regularly practicing is more than likely going to beat Gangbanger #155 in a shootout. Intensity. It can make gun fights way more intense if you're aim needs adjusting which could help bring realism. Imagine a mass-shootout where the bullets are flying and you're not just bouncing your reticle over multiple people and spraying. You'll need to be precise. It will help with the taser issue. People always say PD resort to taser too much - again, this will give the criminals more chance to flee on foot as an unskilled PD player could miss their taser shots. Engaging in a long range pistol battle now becomes a matter of skill rather than placing a reticle on someone. Shots are going to miss (meaning more cases to investigate) and its way more realistic. Is it worth engaging someone if you're at a long distance with an SNS pistol and you hardly use it? Additional information: Already found this, could just be a simple transition: https://rage.mp/files/file/253-no-reticle-for-all-weapons/

Did LSRP have an active Lifeguard division that can sort of help enforce it, though? As well as, if they became a rule - people could easily just kindly remind the roleplayers attempting to commit a crime in that area that it is a non-crime area? It'd be nice if both of these stationed were manned by PD, but realistically speaking - you can't expect PD to become beach cops permanently. I think a good middle ground is making the two police stations a non-crime area and reminding people how close the skate-park is to one police station. Seeing people murdered and getting taxed right next to a police station is immersion breaking, especially when as others have commented - realistically speaking, the beach would be overpopulated. It's getting better, activity is increasing - but we'll never pull 200/300/400 players there. If we go by the rules of, "You wouldn't rob someone on a high-way or in front of an open business" then you wouldn't rob someone at a beach with active lifeguard presence and two police stations within 150 meters of each other either.

100% agreed. Not something I want in our division at all. We aim for realism - rather than giving us things to combat issues, it makes more sense to enforce new rules there instead to bring the standard of RP up.

Yeh. This is frequent down there. On top of the murders, stabbings, robberies, taxing of skate-park, gym, maniacs driving their Kawaii's on the walk-ways - it really is the wild west of RP at the moment and now that the Lifeguards are there, activity is increasing and we're seeing it more and more. Establishing some laws would help a lot. Including things like: Only off-road vehicles are allowed on the sand. (I mean, seeing Issi's and Sultan's driving on the sand is a pet peeve as they never RP getting stuck. LSPD and LSFD have started RPing getting stuck if they drive a cruiser on the sand. Ambulances no longer come on the sand - we transport victims to the car park with our off-road trucks etc.) There's a lot of love needed down Vespucci at the moment, so I'm 100% on board with this post. As someone that actively RPs there daily and has done since March - we've seen a lot more bad than good. Our aim is to make Vespucci /the/ hot-spot for tourism RP and casual RP, meeting new people and hanging out.. but right now in it's current state, you're just going to get robbed or murdered. This morning alone we had a robbery at the Lifeguard Tower (which is a non-crime zone) that you can see in the report section. I definitely think the two police stations being factionized by the LSPD and made into crime-free zones would really help - but that's up to the LSPD Chiefs.

Hi, Lifeguard Chief here. Vespucci is the wild-west. It's pretty bad - I tried establishing some laws down there with the last Government and got ignored, so hopefully we can get somethings sorted down there when the new mayor is in town. The amount of robberies, driving on the civilian walk-ways, taxing of the skate-park/gym and just general behaviour down the beach is pretty poor. If we base the server off of, "you wouldn't rob someone on the highway" and such, then the beach should also be included in that, in my opinion. The same goes for people taking their sports cars on the sand - we're trying very hard to bring the activity to the beach and nearly getting run over by cars on the civilian foot paths is a frequent thing. The amount of murder and crime that happens at the skate-park is pretty ridiculous considering a police station is thirty feet away. There are TWO police stations on Vespucci/Del Perro Beach. The one in the center of the beach by the skate-park and the one you mentioned on the pier. (people seem to forget about this place when they shoot someone at the skate-park for refusing to pay $100 to use it) This beach is based off of Santa Monica - obviously we can't fill it with activity like it is in real life but stuff like taxing the skate-park, gym. Murdering someone or robbing them in daylight is pretty unrealistic. Have some videos that happens daily down there: https://streamable.com/omxync https://streamable.com/m5yb0x
  11. Oh man, I've been waiting for something like this. Will definitely tune in! Hope you guys get decent guests, it'd suck to have someone ruin it. Is it pre-recorded? Would be good to get some business advertisements and stuff in the middle!
  12. Sorry, little busy. Have a lil more ? (any Hotline Miami fans? :D)
  13. Personally of the opinion that any Discord that is used as an association to GTA:W and represents the community whether it be a faction, business, associations should have an admin within the Discord. Too many people throwing "Private Discord" around to get away with things that shouldn't be said or done on this community.
  14. Chapter 1 concluded.. and the start of Chapter 2!
  15. Depends really! I follow a story-board I've got set up, so getting the shots takes probably an hour per update - it depends on how difficult the shot is (the whale shot was a pain cause the whales kept dying :D). The editing around another hour or two. I'd guess about 2-3 hours per update, sometimes less, sometimes more! ?
  16. Thank you! ❤️ Will post more parts tomorrow night. I appreciate all the kind messages I've received!
  17. Sorry.. on a bit of a roll as I'm desperate to catch up to present day! ?
  18. One of my all-time favorite franchises, I'm super glad to hear that! ?
  19. Updated ? Thank you for all the support, it means so much! I'm glad people like it!!
  20. Hey, hi! So this is something I've wanted to do for a loooooong time but haven't really gotten around to it. With the Los Santos County Lifeguards thriving under the Los Santos Fire Department, I thought now would be a good time to show the story of my oldest, nearest and dearest character, Ami McKenna. Ami has been my most played character and has a long history on GTA:W - filled with failures and dreams who has finally found her calling in life - by pure chance of an accidental rescue one day down on Vespucci Beach. Ami means a heck of a lot to me. There was a brief period of time where I put her aside to start afresh after a major setback in her development - and I RPly sent her away to Alaska to continue her veterinary medicine studies as I had lost all ambition to play her. I brought her back around January to try and dig her out of the hole she was in and have fallen completely in love with playing her again and I don't see that changing. This will follow the development of Ami, from her escape to Alaska, to her return due to her husbands suicide - and how she managed to find hope through her conception and development of the Los Santos County Lifeguards. It'll take a little time to catch up to the present day, but I have so much content of her present day that I felt it's important to show how the Lifeguards came to fruition. I hope you enjoy ❤️

    Elections

I do think it's time we had a change and someone that is willing to invest time and effort into both the OOC and IC work is put in place. All I've seen of Government lately has been them driving around shutting businesses down. That's all good for them and their minimal roleplay as they probably don't roleplay with these establishments for leisure, but for the community that actively play, it's just taking away our roleplay. When I've had an email sitting in the gov forum for 4 months waiting for a response to input some seriously needed laws down the beach and have received zero response but then see Government shutting down a simple jetski rental business - you really start to turn on them. People are tired and frustrated - the riots alone should have had a massive Government response but it's once again been overlooked. I think the entire faction needs to be disbanded and replaced by people who actually care about bringing some real political roleplay to the server.

    The recent riots

Having previously wanted to see this play out organically after having a night with an LSFD perspective compared to tonight on the protestors side, it's time for this to stop IMO. The "roleplay" (quotes because I wouldn't call it that) is just.. not what this community should strive for. Barely a cohesive sentence formed, lackluster roleplay looking for any excuse to attack someone and a really bad narrative being pushed by people making characters specifically to CK them to push their agenda. Tonight was an eye opener and I'm glad the LSPD, LSFD and LSSD gave me the chance to look at this from a lawful characters perspective and provide some amazing roleplay that I'll remember fondly for a long time, because after being one of the protestors tonight, my opinion has changed dramatically and I feel this should come to an end by morning.

    The recent riots

It will be interesting to see if this continues. As a member in the LSFD, while it was stressful, it was enjoyable and intense. I'd love to see where this goes organically, but I don't think we'll see much more of this past tonight. It would be a very interesting experiment to see how this could potentially play out but relying on the community to not divulge into DM and chaos is a big maybe too big a risk.
