Hi, There are a lot of characters that originate from the United Kingdom within GTA:W, so I always do suggest to start off with something like an American from Los Santos for one's first character and general introduction to the server. Nethertheless, there are indeed things that I can and can't tell you about role-playing a person from the British Isles! As said above, there are regional linguistic and cultural differences - not only from country to country, but city to city. You're not going to be able to learn everything about roleplaying a British character prior to actually getting in-game and immersing yourself somewhat in the character, but I'd try hard to to avoid falling into the trap of role-playing a stereotype which often happens when done when role-playing an unfamiliar culture (for example, don't go around asking for cups of tea in bars!) As a final piece of advice, consider how they got to Los Santos - it's unlikely, even as a Briton, for an unskilled British worker to end up with an American visa outside of marriage - normally you'll need to be in your late twenties or early thirties with that much experience in an industry or, at a minimum, a MSc/MA. Remember that not being a citizen will prevent you from owning weapons and so on. Ultimately, as any character, roleplaying a British character is roleplaying a unique person with their own wishes, desires, traits and flaws, some from culture, some from their own experiences, it's ultimately what you make of it and what you choose to do. The truth is, as Lambchops said, reports stack up and there may only be one or two admins dealing with reports at any given time, there are things that usually happen prior to stopping RP that isn't immediately obvious (such as speccing and so on, in that exact situation I specced and on my screen he was ramming the pursuing vehicles and didn't respond to a PM), but ultimately, as disappointing as it is to stop RP and bring people out of immersion and, believe me when I say it's the last thing admins want to do as it has a tendency to drag out a situation, sometimes it is the path of least resistance. I do agree with the premise that admin intervention should be limited in reports and be done privately where possible as to not intrude on RP, but I don't think it's a problem as easily solved as that.

Just want to thank @Keane for all of the work he has done for GTAWorld, it sometimes has gone unnoticed but your presence will surely be missed - glad to see you sticking around regardless. Congratulations to everyone!

@lambchops hit the nail on the head, ultimately a character is just that - a portrayal of a human being who different from yourself who sometimes wins, who sometimes loses, and you can portray both of those in the name of collective storytelling and enjoy it.

You can be in two factions at once with another character.

They'll be an actual 'faction' although party members aren't obligated to be in it for that exact reason as far as I know.

Just to steer this on topic, we are still looking for people to get involved in leading our political parties, the application to do so can be found here, if you have any interest at all in this, we would love to hear from you! Legal Faction Management will try to get something up like a Q&A as we appreciate there was some confusion, just to clear one point up, executive/member applications are optional, the chosen party leader will have control and these applications will be sent to them, this was done so parties can start in the most possibly strongest position we can put them in and get straight onto the campaign. We are only deciding on party leaders at the moment, so if you're interested in leading either the Democrats or Republicans, and hopefully becoming the mayor, please send us your application! Applications are now open to run or join a political party. Political parties will be able to do some of their own recruitment once everything is established - we've chosen this system to help get political parties on the right footing and avoid the complications around starting any faction from scratch by giving as much help as we can in the early days.
