  1. don't take pictures, so here's a gif :))
  2. This is extremely helpful, tysm. Thanks so much for the reply. I forgot to mention, but I planned on them being from London.
  3. Hi! I don't know if this is the right place for this question, so if it's not, my apologies. I'm interested in roleplaying as a character from England, but I wanted to RP it "the correct way". Does anyone have suggestions as to how to properly RP the accent, various phrases, and things of that nature?
  4. To add onto this, I feel like the people who are commenting “this isn’t you rapping, this is ____” are the ones breaking immersion. Not the people who are trying to create the RP, ESPECIALLY if they’re voice claiming a lesser-known artist and coming up with everything else.
  5. THIS. IS. WHAT. I. WAS. TRYING. TO. SAY. You literally stole the letters off of my keyboard.
  6. I completely understand and agree with what you're saying, especially with the links you've supplied. She used the same name/didn't give credit, which, yes, should be against the rules. I agree with you, though, and I'm surprised that there isn't already a rule that you've described. If there was, we wouldn't really be having this discussion, and it would really draw the line in the sand as to what's okay and what's not.
  7. Link? Immersion-breaking and making it a rule is drastic. I feel like it all comes down to Lore, how you RP, and how you handle IRL influences inside the RP. For instance, I literally see nothing wrong with this: It's simply used for IC purposes. It's not used to "steal" people's work and masquerade it as their own. If this is wrong, are other players on different games "stealing" artists' work, as well? Like The Sims? IMVU? Second Life?
  8. Yeah, when referring to music, you obviously wouldn't use a well-known musician like Beyonce or Bruno Mars. It would have to be somebody that most people haven't heard of or are currently "unknown". I'm speaking solely about musicians/music because it gives you a chance to be creative and "personalize" it, like music videos, art, etc, and videography is a simple cut and paste. Honestly, I don't see how it's immersion-breaking if you give credit and state that it's for RP purposes only and come up with everything else like stated before. I would understand if somebody is using the same music, name, music video, art, and no credit given--that would obviously be breaking immersion, but if they're coming up with literally everything else, and it's good, to say it's "super lame" is sort of dramatic.
  9. If we’re being realistic, though, nobody’s going to take your char seriously, if the music is horrible. I agree with most of what you said, but you can know the process of creating/recording music, without actually doing it. I don’t understand how it breaks immersion, though. If everything is strictly IC, how would a IC musician be breaking immersion? I’m speaking for music solely, but if you state that it’s for RP purposes only, and that you’re not the creator of the music—aka giving credit—is it really “stealing”? My points exactly. Since this is an role play server, and you could basically/realistically rp anything you want your character to be, even if your OOC self isn’t able to do it, why is it “frowned upon” to RP a musician when you aren’t really one yourself?
  10. Hey! A couple of summers ago, the music industry, in Los Santos, was extremely active. Most were using music that they made OOC for their characters, but some were using music from actual artists, and it seemed like those who weren't using their own music were taken less seriously than those that were. Some people who are not "musically gifted," but they want to portray their charrie as a rapper/singer are put at a huge disadvantage, due to the majority of players not willing to look past the OOC part of it. This brings me to a couple of questions or "discussion points" that I have: How do you feel about IC personas using OOC artists as their "voice"? ((with credit given, obv)) Does ostracizing the people who use other artists' music break the rules and/or immersion? How do you feel about the music industry in L.S, as a whole? If you would like me to clear up anything I've said, just let me know. ❤️

GENERAL INFORMATION Name: Carmina Sophia Almendarez Birthdate: May 24, 2002 Age: Seventeen Birthplace: Rancho, SA Sexual Orientation: Lesbian Ethnicity: Hispanic Nationality: Mexican American Current Living Environment: Homeless/Nomadic Height: 5'5 Weight: 135 lbs Addictions: Marijuana Basic Personality Traits: Reserved, Observant, and Defensive Brief Biography Throughout Carmina's short, but tumultuous, life, she's had nothing. Nothing to call her own, no friends, no money, or love. She was left to fend for herself, by her mother: an unconventional and mentally-ill woman, who chose the drugs and partying over her own blood. Her story was a bit cliche—an unwanted teenager, forced to live life on the street, without any guidance or structure —but, she still managed to make ends meet any possible way she could. Her father desired to not have any contact with either Carmin or her mother, after his deportation back to Mexico. On Carmina's fifteenth birthday, her mother died from a cocaine overdose, leaving Carmina homeless, helpless, and lost. 12. You guys are all so helpful. I’ve read up on every link you sent, and I’ll definitely take it into consideration. I’ve learned so much, lol. I think you’re right, I should let it flow naturally and do it according to needs, instead of just deciding that that’s what she’s going to do. Do you think having her steal food/things from places, like 24/7, and robbing people for items “privileged” people don’t necessarily need works better for the storyline?
