  1. Yeah wouldn't mind it being bumped up like 10-15% and trying it out for a bit.
  2. Yes I read the post. Did you read mine? If people aren't willing to roleplay giving the lethal injection, police presence, priest etc. Then you can't just go through with it without them.
  3. It is a legal punishment. Legal Faction Management does have a very big say in this. By saying ooc ideology shouldnt forbid roleplay, you simultaneously advocate for pedophilia, terrorism, and other extemely untasteful roleplay. There's a reason why rape, other sexual assaults, and torture NEED that OOC approval. Now I obviously know you don't advocate for these things but you understand the idea - there are plenty of things that are off limits. I don't think legal faction management wants to be known for carrying out that sort of roleplay and be known for that instead of everything else they try to do for the server. You might wanna consider that other people found it disturbing as well, and Dream might have been speaking on behalf of not only themselves, but others. Maybe nobody wanted to roleplay the doctor giving the injection, or the cops present there, or whatever. It is a little on the edge between good roleplay and...a little messed up, in all honestly. But like I said in the beginning. It's a legal punishment, so legal management gets the say.
  4. Doest need a command. Just tweak alcohol effects probably. I just steer with my mouse instead of the keyboard when I want to simulate drunk driving. Try it.
  5. Funny panda man already spoke on this? Unless there's something I missed, if this person gets CK'd they get banned or punished. They money will eventually be refunded and wiped. They can't make a new characters if they're banned. If they don't ck and make a new character just to repeat the process, the refund requests don't go up and no money is added back into the server.
  6. Context is everything. A rival gang member in a convenience store with massive windows in broad daylight at high noon? Bad. Waiting for them to go to a more private area and then shooting them at high noon? Probably fine. "More private" doesn't need to be dark and scary alley. Just can't be a convenient store. Also the reason matters too. Shooting somebody in "broad daylight in front of a cctv" because youre rival gang members? Kinda poor. Shoot them because they tried to kill you previously? Probably fine. I think the main point of these rules is to discourage people from shooting areas like Vinewood and Rockford Hills where gangland style shootings just objectively don't occur as often as they do in Davis. The "my criminal isn't that smart" is definitely a weak argument, as most criminals have the basic instinct of "don't get caught." I think even "stupid" criminals can take a moment to think "Should I should this guy at high noon outside of a bank?" And probably come to the conclusion that they can wait a little bit until the area is a little more fitting. I think this rule could use some tweaking and different wording for sure, but the "why did you shoot in daylight / on cctv" argument is solid in some situations.
  7. Yeah sure. I don't know about the game creator part but the rest of suggestion makes sense. Taking a just a handful of popular card games and adding them would make cards more useful than just gambling.
  8. Tbh I just think of the pizza boy job from Vice City. I don't think this should be added as an addition to the taxi service but maybe just a new service in general? Simultaneously, I feel like enough people speed around and grind the trucker job, and that speed around with Taxis, that this would also just increase the amount of people speeding around. But also, having an noob-friendly delivery job thats similar to the garbage job is nice too. Meh.

    Livestock

Yeah, also gonna agree here, very niche but the idea of people owning cows and role-playing with them pleases me. I want a cow now.

    Injuries

Yeah I guess I could see legs slowing you down, arms shaking your screen gently when you aim, and head "grazes" doing a minor blurry effect to your screen just like drugs? Interesting idea but probably would need more specifics.
  11. It's an RP server not a RPG Survival game. At most, I would like to see eating food offer some benefits, but no penalties.
  12. Different businesses will attract different people. Italians in one, Albanians in the next, off duty cops for the third. W/e. It's nice to be able to pick and choose instead of settling for something out of your characters comfort zone. I think it varies whether or not people acrually roleplay their poker or blackjack games too and I guess I'd like more consistency there.
  13. You don't need IFM's seal of approval to know if you're a good faction or not dude. Again, adding meaning to a title that doesn't really have meaning. Supplier connections are based on what you do IC. To assume a faction suddenly has connections to suppliers based on their official status is silly. The CK rights is a benefit, but as long as you don't go around harassing factions much larger than yours (which you shouldn't even if you did have your special title) then you have nothing to worry about. If you don't like an IFM decision, reach out to them respectfully, patiently, and discreetly. This thread is none of those things. I think most people know that they can reach out to staff with their issues, they just need to be patient about getting their responses.
  14. I dig this actually. Cops can show badges and other stuff. People can show jewelry, or guns, or drugs, or whatever else. Or during robberies, showing items that are only on the relevant area the person searched etc. Can't imagine it'd be hard to implement.
  15. Honestly, I think people put too much prestige around the title "official". There really aren't aren't crazy amount of perks behind it, and working for the sole purpose of becoming "official" is..kinda...dumb. Faction threads are a place for screenshots and positive comments, etc. Basically a positive environment. Criticisms should be spoken to who you have criticisms about, and not to put a faction on blast in their home. Ive seen staff remove plenty of toxic, unhelpful posts on multiple faction threads before. This thread is honestly snowballing into a toxic mess though. But this post just seems kinda....whiney. The "official" status doesn't matter and if you're going to talk about issues with IFM, there's probably much bigger ones at hand than which factions do and don't get a title that people worship too much.
  16. No. What's the point of scamming a loan, then never logging on to play that person again if you don't spend the cash. Or alternatively, you can blow the cash and never play that character again, sure. But what you're suggesting, is literally adding a loophole where somebody scams loans, then two weeks later, they namechange and do it again. Lastly, running a properly roleplayed scam doesn't involve namechanging to avoid consequences. A properly roleplayed scam should be able to actually get away from all consequences of their scam, and therefore, need to be very well thought out.
  17. There are still so many variables here. You and everybody involved in the robbery need to be online. The house you're robbing or the fire you want to set, needs to be at an appropriate time. The staff then suddenly need to clear their schedule for your event. A handful of others too. What if you schedule this event a week ahead of time, and an staff accepts it, only for your accomplices to be busy oocly or icly, or the place you intend to burgled or arson is occupied more than usual, or maybe it's raining the exact time you wanna set fire to a property and now you gotta put it off after a staff accepts it. Or even if a staff member accepts it and something pops up in the days or hours leading up to the event and now they can no longer monitor it. Tbh, the current system for these types of thing isn't the best, everybody knows that. But it's flexible for staff which is what they need.
  18. Kinda support. But I wouldn't want the color to be anything too outlandish. I could see people just using it to get attention and be silly. Too wild of a color and then you just have everybody shouting unnecessarily just so they can have a different colored text. So I feel if the color was changed, it'd have to be just subtle but still noticeable?
  19. Wow. Intense debate over home cooking RP. Biggest concern would be how this would affect businesses for sure. Next, I just don't see a lot of people actually using this. Seems to be a good amount of support from people who already do cooking RP or are chefs already. I feel like the next step would be requesting hunger meters and starvation penalties and just evolving into Sims from here. Not a lot of reasons to say No to this suggestion, but there's also not a lot of reasons to say Yes.
  20. As a Californian..it doesn't rain that much here. Like honestly, 20 or 30 days a year? You'll just have to enjoy the very few rainy days we get a year, just like everybody else.
  21. What? No. Just don't use /maskname then or don't do 10 laps with your name masked. If your fear is being metagamed then just make sure you always have evidence and hold people accountable. I want this. I'm just worried about how many steps it would add for staff in a report's process, potentially always having to pull names from the server, which could slow down reports even more.
