I didn't really go through this entire post so I will likely not address many points. This topic seems to focus on a particular matter or two. Truth of the matter is that you don't really know what truthful opinions people hold in real life (and I relate this to in-game in some sense.) Many people are silent on certain topics to avoid drama. So even in a liberal society, there's still opposition. In fact, from my own experience in the US (and in a liberal State), I feel the opposition has started to speak out more due to recent ideological or political developments. I'm not going into any specifics because I think this can be applied across the board on many sensitive topics. Though, as people have pointed out recently, people tend to enjoy criminal roleplay and no one can blame them, and it is typical of criminals not to be so open. As someone had previously mentioned, civilian characters appear to be moderate / progressive, leaning either towards some 'closeness' or some 'openness.' As for some people having complained about politics, there is IC lore as to why the two major political parties are neck and neck. This has been referenced multiple times in-character by politicians as well. Piggybacking off of this, I urge everyone to stop taking a strict interpretation of California, especially in law and politics. The JSA who were the only real government lawmakers at the time made explicit mention that California law shall not exist in San Andreas (see this thread.) This, along with the in-character lore of a failed district gerrymandering provide enough in-character justification as for the political spectrum. Thank you. I hope that helps explain some stuff.

Hello, I'm going to weigh in on this a little bit. Legal discussions aside, as far as hidden evidence goes, they're usually because there may be information which might be metagamed. Admins should be determining whether or not evidence is necessary be privatized. If evidence is deemed necessary to remain private, an admin should describe what actions and rule breaks they witnessed in that evidence. That should be enough for a person to know what actions are being questioned or enough to assist them in recalling the event. I don't expect that we'd come across admins who will just instantly punish someone without discussing certain specifics of privatized evidence. In the end, private evidence should not be a common thing. In my experience, the amount of 'private' evidence I accepted is less than I can count on a single hand. I would rather have the option for it than not. I do not see it as that big of an issue. If someone suspects that an admin has misused private evidence against someone, then there is a staff report and appeals process for that.

Disagree with the suggestion. As time moves on, I suspect more things will be allowed to happen between the two states, such as crime networks and whatnot. That'll only make it more unrealistic. As of now, the cooldown is great because it prevents people from just hopping from server to server so quickly, which could, in some situations, help people "powergame" or RP unrealistically.

I know this is off-topic, however; This was influenced by IC circumstances. You bring up a good point about how to get it though. I will try to ensure this gets remedied over the next few weeks. As for the suggestion, you'll have to keep in mind that all of this already exists. There's been a number of laws or governmental actions that have derived as a response to IC incidents. All of this is technically possible and is already a thing. However, FM does have the final say on whether or not certain laws can pass, i.e. marijuana legalization for recreational use.

Will surely be missed. I still remember that time we were discussing whether or not it was lawful for our police characters to be doing police business in the backyard of some Rancho house after breaking up a playfight. Moving forward, this thread is not to teach OP or anyone else how to time convert. It’s a game suggestion so please continue with that focus. 12 hour time used to be a function in the game which allowed it to be switched to 24 hours and Vice versa. I’m not sure why it changed but we should add it back. +1

We currently have an in-character Legislature which legislates on laws. If you want something to be introduced, you'll have to reach out to Senators ICly or lobby for them.

Those are geared towards people in other languages. In fact if I stand correct, they are pretty much autonomous from our current GTA-W English server.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea because, besides a temporary or sporadic split of the playerbase, people would go there likely just to troll. It'd also be more work for management as they'd have to hire administration there and do all that stuff.

I can definitely understand wanting it for people with no mic perms. Is it prone to abuse? I think it will be very easy to catch said abuse. Will it be overpowered though? Well. Maybe. Overall, this suggestion has good intentions, but I'm neutral on it. Maybe a street name, location, and direction display rather than a blip?

I agree with this. It goes without saying that the character needs to make sense in some way.

I always urge people to contact their IC senators. Get their GTA W profile username and send them a PM in the form of an IC email. We all have public contact emails. Now, I could probably only see two things with this. 1. Myself, I might need help from others in regards to unions and whatnot as I’m not so familiar. Ofc we don’t all know everything. If anyone has ideas, I urge them to outline those ideas that senators can work with. Writing legislation can be tricky. or 2. Maybe there’s a lot of labor laws that might not truly be applicable? Those are my thoughts. Not sure why people are trying to diss the faction because they’re doing what their RP is about. Let’s not derail yet another thread. But that basically concludes it, like others have said, reach out and take it IC. It’s way more fun that way.

Well, you clearly have not been following the Senate then. You can go through the Senate archive, which I believe is accessible to all, and see just all the bills that have been proposed. Or better yet, State laws that are enacted. You'll see very relevant laws there, so please stop this nonsense faction bashing because it has no grounds. And lastly, you're heavily leaning into getting political, so please refrain from that and remain ON TOPIC as to whether or not this should be involved in our IC continuity. Not everyone shares the same opinion as you. That's a general statement and not a reflection of my beliefs.

Allow me to respond to you with a quote from what I previously said. I also urge you to read the entire message that I put forth. Are we not a political faction? Has it not thus far been allowed for said reason? The Senate has brought important bills forward throughout its course. All I said was, this brought an actual IC involvement and interest in politics. I fail to see how I am claiming that this was the ONLY way I can bring roleplay to the faction? Your claims have no basis. This is (in part) a lawmaking faction. Every faction contributes in their own way for the attempt to roleplay a governed society with law and order. So for us not to discuss things as I quote from you "criminal law reform or any sort of drug reform" is not the mindset we should be having.
