  1. You and I both know this isn't true in the slightest. What the majority of illegal RPers care about above all else is making money. And rightfully so, it's a requirement to keep doing the RP. But the biggest issue is this, and it's not your fault. Everyone is a hustler. Rarely does someone go buy a gun with the intent to hold on to it. Yes, people might hold on to it for a significant amount of time, but that's probably only until they have a buyer lined up for it. There are no end users. Because every criminal, small and large wants to think they're contributing to the gun/drug trade on RP servers. It's not just this one, it's most servers. Another issue. I'm not saying don't make your money. What I am saying is the people who are trying to double their money per pistol or shotgun is an issue. And people can say "Oh, well that's just the way the server goes." or "If you're buying 2nd or 3rd hand, the price generally goes up." Not really. If anything, it goes down. The more hands a gun goes through, the less valuable it actually becomes. For some reason, people on RP servers seem to have that mixed up. Regardless of anything, at the end of the day, a used gun does not fetch the price of a new gun. But for some reason here, if you want an illegal pistol, they're double or more what a legal pistol is. And generally speaking, in the real world, the market is so flooded with handguns that that is not the case in the slightest. Again, it goes back to people always wanting to be a "gun dealer" and make enough money to buy two guns off the one gun they've sold. That mantra works with drugs. Turn two into four, four into eight, etc. But a gun is not the same thing. People fail to realize this. Big ticket items like a full auto AK or a full auto M4? Yeah, hefty price those things all day. Because they shouldn't be someone's go to gun when a small thing arises.

  2. Yeah, your opinion is law. Back on topic. Add more suppliers for one - One active supplier isn't unacceptable. Especially when you have an influx of players in a different timezone. Possibly some more illegal scripts to follow the chop-shop. Ultimately, the main things surrounding illegal roleplay are drugs, weapons, and the chop-shop. Other than that? You've pretty much got nothing. And even then, I believe the chop-shop should be revised to an extent. The risk is certainly not worth the regard, no matter what vehicle you break down. Not to mention these activities can't be repeated but every 2 hours to avoid getting in trouble, so I believe they should definitely put out more. Maybe put a timer on vehicles once they're spawned? You have to be logged out for 2-3 hours plus before your car despawns. Would make a lot more sense in my opinion. People just use their vehicles for safes opposed to their homes, and that's not cool. You can't despawn your vehicle with drugs in it, but you can when it has weapons.

  3. Attitudes need to change. People need to appreciate the story more, not the ooc chatter about who is going to be the biggest / baddest / most powerful on the block / in the pod / on the streets. Roleplay is cooperative, and I think people forget that a lot on both the illegal and legal side.

  4. As for the whole thread, I'll try to understand the issues with you from a developper point of view. Today for illegal players we have the following scripts: -The supplier system with 3-4 weapon suppliers (we just recently recruited active new ones last month and this month so this should start to lay its fruits and be visible in the game), 3-4 drug suppliers (only 1 active at the moment and we recruited more this month, you should see more drugs next month) -Vehicle chop shop -Cards games -Business system -Weapon serials / removal (2 with the jobs will be recruited this month) -Robberies (players, houses) -Weed farming -Drugs What's coming soon: -Corpses to handle -Forensic (more in depth roleplay for criminals) -Drugs creation (crack, meth) -Weapon attachments If we look at all this - what's missing to help you push more illegal roleplay? If I take a look at my LSRP experience, what illegal roleplay was mostly about in the 10 years I was there in the end was just gun & drug trading when it came to the script. Nothing more. So what's missing in my opinion isn't something to script, but rather what players do with their factions and how active they are. Unless everyone just want to trade guns & drugs and since we limited that compared to LSRP (where for a long time hundreds of new guns were supplied each weeks) it explains why we have less illegal activities, but i would be worried if it was the explanation.

  6. Personally, i'm not sure. I just know it is. I've been on this server for over a year and when I started I came on and was like, "HOLY FUCK, THIS SHIT IS KINDA DOPE!" Now, were the factions that were on the server at the time realistic? No. Did their roleplay still have good quality and was there character progression? Yes. Now, when I get on the server I drive around to bars and I just cringe in my seat. I get genuinely uncomfortable by how poor some of the roleplay is. There appears to be no character progression whatsoever in alot of factions. People don't accurately roleplay the criminal lifestyle they roleplay these Tony Montana-esque characters. I think if more people focused on making their characters more three dimensional, and more complex the roleplay quality would improve greatly. I think a good example would be @varrio bangin his characters are complex. They have depth, they have personalities. They come off as real people not these one dimensional gangsters that currently fester on the server. I also wanna see people take more time to actually research the faction they intend to roleplay. There's a long list of poorly researched factions on this server that simply aren't accurate portrayals of the real life versions of these groups. If people took a couple more hours to research what they're trying to do I think that would also help to improve the roleplay on the server. Finally, i'd like to see a new faction management team that is both knowledgeable on criminal roleplay and legal roleplay. Not to say, Knoxville isn't doing a good job, but i'd like to see more members of FM than the 1-2 that currently reside on the team. These are my ideas to improve the illegal roleplay on the server.

  8. Los Santos County Sheriff's Department From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia County of Los Santos Sheriff's Department Patch Badge of the LSSD's sheriff Flag Common name Los Santos County Sheriff's Department Abbreviation LSSD Motto "A Tradition of Service" Jurisdictional structure Operations jurisdiction Los Santos County, San Andreas, United States General nature Local civilian police Website www.lssd.org The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department (LSSD), officially the County of Los Santos Sheriff's Department, is a police force serving Los Santos County, San Andreas. LSSD is the largest sheriff's department in the United States and the fourth largest local police agency in the United States, following the Liberty City Police Department (LCPD), the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and the Los Santos municipal Police Department (LSPD). LSSD has approximately 18,000 employees, 9,915 sworn deputies and 9,244 unsworn members. The department's three main responsibilities are to provide municipal police services within Los Santos County, courthouse security for the Superior Court of Los Santos County, and housing and transportation services of inmates within the county jail system. The LSSD provides municipal police services to the unincorporated communities and 42 of the 88 cities within Los Santos County. In addition to its primary responsibilities, LSSD contracts with the Los Santos Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Metrolink, provides law enforcement services to ten community colleges, and patrols county parks, golf courses, special event venues, lakes, hospitals, and county facilities. LSSD provides services, such as crime laboratories, homicide investigations, and academy training, to smaller law enforcement agencies within the county and across the State of San Andreas. History The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department was established in 1850 shortly after the Mexican-American War. After the founding of the independent San Andreas Republic and the voluntary annexation by the United States, law enforcement was subsumed under the Los Santos Rangers (which became the Los Santos Police Department) and the Los Santos Sheriff. In the early 1900s, the Sheriff's Department officially became an actual institution of permanent individuals rather than the Sheriff and his posse. It was not until 1930 when deputies formally adopted uniforms and jails were administered by the Sheriff's Department. During the 1930s, the Sheriff's Department assisted the Los Santos Police Department in the "red squad" era, notably attacking the Socialist Party of America and breaking up union-organized events. In 1947, the Sheriff's Department hired the first female Deputy Sheriff within the nation. The 1950s to the 1970s saw the most turbulent era of operation within the Sheriff's Department, especially during the infamous 1961 Davis Race Riots. The Sheriff's Department assisted the LSPD in quelling the large-scale civil unrest, but it was one of the most massive events of the era up until the 1992 Jim Queen riots. Former Sheriff Peter "Pico" Collins headed the department from 2009 until his downfall in 2017. During Collins' reign corruption was rampant and close-knit deputy gangs were prominent. Within the ranks of the county's finest were individuals keen to oppress less fortunate individuals in the county jail system and rural towns. Following whistle-blower tips, an ACLU lawsuit brought down the Sheriff after the FBI took interest as part of their public corruption mandate. Pico and his Undersheriff were both sentenced to federal prison. Following a brief hiatus mandated by the Federal Department of Justice, Patrick Machado won the seat as Los Santos County Sheriff after a special election was held. Almost immediately after swearing into office, Sheriff Machado ordered the re-opening of the Twin Towers Los Santos County Jail to massively aid the growing overcrowding issue of the region's detention facilities. Misconduct Throughout the existence of the Davis Sheriff's Station, a multitude of controversies sprouted under the tenure of Sheriff Joseph Cline and Captain Damian Suarez. A variety of brutality, fraud, and deputy gang scandals tarnished the name of the sheriff's station, resulting in demonstrations occurring right outside the facility. One of which being the Davis City Council accusing the Department's executives of conning the City of Davis for contract hours, fabricating statistics about said hours being fulfilled. As a result of the riots on the 30th of July, 2022, a deputy at the Davis Sheriff's Station stepped forward to speak out about the alleged brutality claims found at the patrol station on the aforementioned date. Deputy Sarah Ostrowski went on a local news network, whistleblowing the fact that the station was institutionally corrupt, and permeated by violent deputy gangs. What stands out from this complaint is that it was all done by a deputy who worked at the station for over half a decade. Contract law enforcement The LSSD has entered into contracts with the numerous cities to serve as their police department/law enforcement agency. The Davis Police Department served the City of Davis and its unincorporated areas from 1906 up until the 14th of May, 1998. The Davis Police Department was disbanded by the Davis City Council as a result of the skyrocketing homicide rates that were left unattended paired with the significant controversies with local communities, multiple police brutality claims, and scandals involving the Department's executives. The premises of the old Davis Police Station was subsequently converted into a youth activities center in an attempt to combat the elevated homicide count conducted by minors. This center was in use prior to it shutting down in early 2000 due to the lack of funding for the program. Shortly thereafter on the 17th of September, 2000, the Davis City Council contracted with the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department to become the main municipal law enforcement agency for the City of Davis. The whopping 22 million dollars per annum paid by the City of Davis to the LS County Sheriff's is utilized in providing a variety of specialized teams and highly trained patrol deputies to serve Davis and its unincorporated areas. The Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station has been in use since 1958 when it was first founded to provide law enforcement services to the Los Santos County. Along with its substation in Sandy Shores, the station provides law enforcement services to a vast geographical area, including but not limited to: Paleto Bay, Mount Chiliad, Mount Gordo, Grapeseed, Raton Canyon, Sandy Shores, Grand Senora Desert, Harmony, Tongva Hills, Banham Canyon, North Chumash, Pacific Bluffs, Vinewood Hills, Richman, Del Perro, Rockford Hills, Vespucci, Little Seoul, Downtown LS, and Vinewood. Rank structure Title Insignia Sheriff Undersheriff Assistant Sheriff Division Chief Area Commander Captain Lieutenant Sergeant Deputy Sheriff (Master FTO) Deputy Sheriff Bonus I, Bonus II Deputy Sheriff Deputy Sheriff Trainee (Non-sworn) The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department is a faction based off of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, that seeks to emulate the often-overlooked facets of American Law Enforcement. The primary emphasis in membership with this faction is character development through realistic roleplay & portrayal, with a high standard to ensure quality retention.

  10. Hello everyone, I'm Big_Smokes and together with Roozles, I am one of the faction leaders of the Los Santos Police Department. We started working on this project a long time ago (We've been together as a team for over a year now) and always look for avenues to improve on our faction's core values, the interaction amongst our faction's members and our faction's interaction with the public in game. As we are at the very top of the organisation we see things from a very different perspective than most. For that reason I always feel like it is important to stay in touch with the people that interact with all echelons of the faction: You, the player. We don't interact with you over the forums as much as we'd like and thus I decided to post this topic. I'm asking all of you to come forth with your innovating and revolutionary suggestions to help us improve facets of the faction from your perspective. If you don't have a suggestion but rather a question to ask, that's also fine, I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability. Before you post though, I have to clarify one thing: Our faction has more than a hundred players in it and will continue to grow. My fellow leaders and I are not present for every interaction you might have with any INDIVIDUAL faction member, and thus I would like you to refrain from posting complaints about individual interactions in this thread. If you wish to file a complaint, please refer to this forum (https://lspd.gta.world/viewforum.php?f=261) or send a PM directly to me. The idea is that I'm wanting to get a sense of what type of macro changes the community would be interested in to help our faction improve from their standpoint. I might not agree with all your suggestions nor might I find them tenable, but that does not make them any less valued. I will try to respond to this thread as often as I can and also answer any questions you might have.

  13. LIBERTY CITY James was born on September 28th, 1992 in Broker, Liberty City. He was born to a second-generation American Italian father and an American mother. James' first interactions with the Broker underground scene happened around 2009. He used to live in a neighborhood controlled by the Mob. Naturally, James became involved with several faces by doing minor "favors" for a generous allowance. Favors such as parking cars and passing messages. A year later James got in a fight which put him in the hospital with serious injuries. These events lead James' parents to pack and leave for Los Santos. Los Santos Los Santos, 2010. James got a scholarship for the Los Santos Law School. For the first year, everything went smoothly and according to his parents' plan. Because of the economic crisis, James' father had to loan a large amount of cash from a loan shark since the bank didn't approve several of his applications. James began working in gyms all over LS to assists his parents but that decision made him drop out of Law School. They were struggling with the loan and lived for 4 years in poverty so they could pay their dues. June 2017. Ettore G. Morello was brutally murdered and found dismembered in Vinewood Hills. Police reported it as a crime of hatred, James' mother couldn't take it and left for Liberty leaving James all alone in LS. The following two years James struggled and lived from day to day. During the fall of 2019, he met Francis, a fat old guy who helped him stand on his own feet by offering a job as a Manager of Vespucci sports. Soon James was in deep waters doing much more than just managing a gym.

  14. I've noticed the quality of illegal roleplay on the server diminishing in recent times and as someone that's only roleplayed criminal characters on this server. I find that rather troubling. I'm not looking for the usual, "Oh fuck this server man! ITS TRASH AND WILL NEVER GET BETTER!" I hear that 24/7 from dozens of different people. I wanna hear genuine ideas on how to improve the illegal roleplay scene. My goal with this thread is for staff and upper management to read it then possibly consider some of these ideas for implementation on the server. The purpose of this thread is not to bash staff like alot of these general discussion threads quickly turn into. I wanna see actual realistic ideas.

  15. I'm going to lock this as reading the two pages I missed, it became a mess and it's sad to read that everyone just attack each others or trashtalk some factions to promote their own. I'll have discussions with the illegal faction leaders on FM Discord when we get some time as people can't properly behave. If you have any good insights or suggestions feel free to PM or DM me.

  16. yea haha let’s add OOC rules for IC actions because it doesn’t benefit our super edgy concept woohoooo Faction Management Public? Jesus Christ, we really are becoming an LSRP copycat server here aren’t we? You guys sound like crybabies because you’re not getting what you want. It’s quite pathetic to see and it reminds me of LSRP when they had an OOC trade agreement. ?

  17. You do understand that 80% of their thread is scripted roleplay for screenshots, right? Ik they've been reaching out oocly just to link up icly to hold meetings and talks with X parties. So this example is very poor. Only factions you can learn from is ABZ and that's period. It's the only faction that doesn't do w/e the fuck everyone else is doing.

  18. It needs better roleplayers. Every player needs to better themselves and give it their 100% to portray a more realistic character and a way of roleplaying. But sadly people use roleplaying as a way to escape reality then to portray it.

  19. Faction threads are generally used for faction related roleplay. They showcase the faction. I know many, many members of factions that do have lives outside the faction but they don't post it on the threads because it's not really relevant to the faction. If every member of every faction started posting them going on a date or having a drink or going on some hike through the mountains, the threads would be full of posts and it would be a mess. That's why character threads exist but not everyone has the time to make screenshots for the faction and to make their own thread

  20. I'm tired of reading "the whole economy is fucked" because you pay a bottle $200. A GTAW$ != real life $. It's a roleplay server and we decide how we want the economy to be : it's a closed circle with budgets for legal factions from government, every $ you get comes from either another player or the government and we're the only ones doing this. The economy isn't fucked, your understanding of GTAW's economy is. If a bottle was worth $1 a gun worth $100, your income would have to match these so you would win approximately $3000 per month spent on the game IRL. No houses or vehicles would be affordable. People spend 60 years working on real life, here if you spend 60 months playing it'll already be super rare. We don't want a mirror of real life economy when it comes to price because you'll either be able to buy everything you want (and the economy will be fucked if you can afford 100 guns a day), or you'll be able to afford only small items and not the big assets (vehicles, houses). So yes, we price items based on their GTAW value and not real life, that's not a fucked economy, that's a well thought system that prevents the economy from collapsing completely. As for your paycheck being $800.. no. Just no. $800 is what you get from doing nothing from the government, if you work in a shop you'll get approximately $3000 per hour, if you work for other players you'll even get more, if you create your own business that's also another story. Yes if you stick to the $800 minimum wage given by government when you don't work you'll buy nothing of value and that's how it's supposed to be.

  21. What does weapon price have to do with illegal roleplay scene quality? The whole economy is fucked, when you have to pay $200 for a bottle of wine and your paycheck is $800, do expect to buy Heavy Pistols for 25k. This thread is to discuss what can be done about horse shit roleplay standards and lack of character development, not how hard it is to get weaponry or how expensive it is. Money was never a problem here, and everyone has plenty of it.

  25. Just want to address this point here, since I was the one that authorized the lease of this location for this specific concept. A group came to me directly with a good plan for what they wanted to do with the property as well as a plan for how to roleplay out this concept on the server. They are paying a monthly fee (as with any lease) to continue using the property, and are required to adhere to the same rules as any other lease made available by Property Management. In the past, I have also leased out the yacht (all though this is something I'm personally a bit more reluctant to do these days due to misuse etc) to other players to use for events and such, while suggesting that LSPD should arrest people using said "property" without obtaining the right permits, for trespassing. That being said, they are under no obligations to publicly advertise their existence (and I believe that doing so would even undermine the concept of being a private country club for the rich and successful), and it is fully up to them to decide how to operate (as long as they follow the server and/or property rules, specifically the ones related to leasing). If anything, them suing someone would only help fit the narrative that they are in fact roleplaying as "rich douchebags". And on that note, I think we've derailed this thread enough. Let's get back to what it was intentionally made for, instead of continuing to beat the dead horse that is this single court case.

  26. Sandy Shores, a place where most people tend to try to stay away from. The small town flourished with tweakers, hicks, and generally bad folk. Derek Kader, the local punk was both born and raised in Sandy Shores. His father and his mother weren't the ideal parenting figures but for Derek? It worked. As time passed and Derek grew up, he started to realize what kind of place he resided in and tried to save up as much cash as he could to get out as fast as possible. As a young naive teenager he fell in love with Alcohol, his mother loved it, his father loved it. It ran in the blood, as time passed eventually every penny Derek had went to beer and whatever kind of shit he could get on his hands on. It was his lucky pill. At 19 years old Derek nearly drank himself to death, he was shitfaced. The motherfucker could barley even walk, now what would you do in a situation like this? Sleep it off? Well, Derek didnt do anything like that. He grabbed his father's car keys and decided to go for a joyride. Later that night he'd end up taking a life and in the back of a police car. As a week passes, Derek gets sentenced to 10 years in the state penitentiary. When Derek realized he would spend the rest of his youth in the prison? He shamefully sank his head in hopelessness. Life In the Pen. The day Derek put on his prison issued clothing, and was assigned a cell would be the day his life changed forever. What they call it? He was the fish on the yard, new inmate. He did not know what to do, or who to speak to. He was greeted by a fellow peckerwood. Derek and the white inmate had a chat before being introduced to the rest of the white car. As time passed he was no longer Derek, the whites called him "Dicer, Dicer from Sandy shores." He got his papers checked and was introduced to the program. Soon enough he ran the program, soon after that he'd start a regular routine to get time to pass inside. As years passed Dicer survived the inside by any means necessary. Either it be checking a lame, keeping everyone in neutral status or just generally be on the watch. Life after the Pen, October 18th, 2019. On October 18th, Derek finished his sentenced and was finally a free man without parole. He resides in a low-class area in the city, and hangs with a local MC. He tries to keep a steady job to afford food on the table. It's just like the inside, he does whatever he needs to survive. (To be updated as development continues.)

  27. If the method above doesn't work for you (maybe you dont have the steam version) you can alternatively use the "Home" key on your keyboard after the "Welcome to GTA World" pops up, wait for about 1-2 mins and then hit the "Home" key once again, wait a few seconds and it'll begin to load in smoothly!
