It brings interesting roleplay for everybody involved, if you don’t agree with the protest icly? Gather a group of people with the same ideologies/beliefs as your character and get out there and spread your own message! At the end of the day it’s all roleplay, once people start looking at protests/riots as a roleplay opportunity instead of an inconvenience these events could be so much more fun. What roleplay, the majority don't roleplay anything. I fail to see where this roleplay is. Not saying there aren't people who do roleplay but they get overshadowed by the majority that come in just to DM and run rampant, shouting random gibberish trying to incite violence. Link to comment

Scrat Knapp
Speaking from the LSSD side, I personally enjoyed the event. Started off near the initial protest site, which eventually pulled back to the Hall of Justice, where we ended up staying until things tapered off. It was tense and I personally didn't see any subpar RP - had my deputy approached by someone who held a photo of the deceased man in front of his face, demanding his name to be spoken. There was a brief melee clash after but it ended after the beanbags came out. With regards to there being too many uniformed officers - the SD (and other factions I'm sure) has a saying that goes "never enough backup" where you're encouraged to be there to help your comrades no matter how many there may be. Even with the numbers we did have, it wasn't enough to fully protect the Hall of Justice, which saw people get close to and even try to enter on several occasions. My one major problem was the handling of it by the staff side. The fellow who initiated the protest was banned because of the whole 'mother's FB account' thing, and we were told the entire protest was voided. The reaction from other SD members was almost universal disappointment as things had just gotten interesting - only for it to be un-voided minutes later. It feels like the first voiding was a kneejerk reaction that wasn't properly thought out and had to be reversed almost immediately afterwards. Oh, and yeah, the streaming issues were annoying but luckily were not present for the majority of the riot. Edited June 14, 2021 by Scrat Knapp 1 Link to comment
lambchops
As the person who ended up commanding all LSSD forces throughout the night for this event, I can only say that I thoroughly enjoyed what went down last night and can speak for a majority of my faction in saying they enjoyed it too. We surely had some issues with regards to streaming distance and people opting not to roleplay things or doing other kinds of weird roleplay such as opening fire on a tactical team, but ultimately these were individual actors while the main event went amazingly well. I understand not everyone may enjoy this kind of roleplay but wish to point out it is a more than welcome relief to spend the night coordinating a roleplay opportunity like this for hundreds of players instead of dealing with back to back shootouts like we have been. Everyone I interacted with seemed to have a great time, and we had a blast roleplaying with each other, the LSFD, the LSPD and the protesters, with things climaxing in the rushing of Mission Row. I understand Mission Row is a safe zone and rushing it may be against the rules, but feel like the response to people rushing it was an appropriate crackdown that ended up with those involved going to jail. In all this may have been a bit goofy, but resulted in IC consequences and a good night for everyone. Why would we try to curb this kind of roleplay as long as it doesn't turn into an actual shit fest? PS: We looked cool as fuck. Edited June 14, 2021 by lambchops 4 Link to comment

They were apart of a faction called "Tortilla Flats", who were actively provoking the protestors by calling them the hard r and insulting Aidan Epps. The protestors then met these racist provokers with a brawl in the alley, where the PROVOKING party pulled out switchblades and firearms and gunned down 2 protestors. Link to comment
Stiggz
To be honest with the way LSPD has been doing things there would be riots nationally almost 24/7 irl, but I’m not here to bash on PD. If it’s realistic, go for it. I just politely ask police not to immediately begin gunning people down Link to comment
