  1. I do recall a few months back there was a sort of arcade / game store where one could play games such as the classic 'test your strength' hammer or claw game via rolls, or a fortune telling machine with fortunes made up by the staff. I found it to be really fun and an interesting vibe overall, not sure if it's still open these days as I can't remember the name exactly. The market for more niche services is there, but mentality of the community plays a part of it. I try and visit the smaller, more humble bars and diners from time to time because the character I play doesn't really vibe with the whole club atmosphere.
  2. I was honestly quite surprised to learn that the daily lists of cars to steal were coded from the start to include legal-faction only PD vehicles that provided zero parts, and that after all this time such has still not be fixed. I do think people should be able to pull mods and upgrades (at least those universal to most of them such as locks, alarms, XM, performance upgrades, etc) from any car to setup a kind of economy of aftermarket parts that would be cheaper but shadier as to where they were sourced from and the risk associated with that.
  3. As a few have said, the amount of shootouts that result in piles of bodies can reach high levels of ridiculousness. I am currently a detective (SD OSSB) and tend to stop and examine every body I find, though usually I'm called to them by other deputies. The usual scene is a dead guy and his blood (possibly his weapon if he had one), casings, and no witnesses or at least ones that will talk. Often people stumble upon them a while after they died. In 99% of cases, the guy will have PK'd, which means you can't really look into the victim and who they associate with to look for leads. You're forced to tag it as a John/Jane Doe. The casings are labelled and submitted, usually not resulting in anything. We're told not to create casefiles for these kind of dead-end cases that, after the initial scene examination and all, offer no RP for anybody and just means dropping off the evidence and having Coroners scoop up the body. I could certainly understand some hesitancy for LEOs to interact with every corpse when rarely does much result from cleaning up the scene and missing out on more pertinent calls in the meanwhile.
  4. The wiki requests information post indicates that if your post has been locked, it means your editing rights have been added. However, no posts have been locked since November of last year. Are these requests still even being processed?
  5. Yes, that's right. When I was training as a Deputy, I was told that we had to take every single item (sans phone) from them and drop them off in a storage room, which meant using /trashitem and letting them be deleted once the server restarted. The only solution as it currently stands is to screenshot all your stuff, then submit a refund request to get it back once you're released. It'd be nice if a system automatically took all your items upon being imprisoned and returned them upon release.
  6. But the crash comes when ped-skin users try and use a clothing store, which currently there's no way of stopping them from doing that, I believe was the point?
  7. Please. It's not entirely necessary for people to RP shock and horror when they see their 100th corpse, but it's not asking for much to have a little respect for those rping around the corpses. As a Detective myself, I spend a lot of time at scenes, and almost every single time someone will wander or drive through like it's nothing. Often when I'm just helping with scene containment, people will try to find a way around my cones and tape until I yell at them specifically to go around. Just take the extra time and divert your course instead of trying to plow through it.
  8. This is more of a suggestion for individual factions and what their leadership decides their policies are regarding admin history than one for the server as a whole. I personally believe that factions should be able to reserve the right to deny someone based on recent admin history. In the example you provided, is it really difficult to not break the rules for a month or two before applying? However if you do wish to change this it should probably be brought to the factions in question.
  9. Once SAAA has proven itself a lasting, active faction that has set guidelines for ATCs and pilots to follow to ensure quality and that everyone is on the same page, then I'd support giving them the powers the LSPD currently has regarding air travel.
  10. Username: Clover Comment: Seems like a solid guy. I hope he gets the ability to pay his own employees back instead of having to delegate to someone who has a much larger workload to manage.
  11. Having played on LSRP on-and-off from around 2011 to late 2020 before deciding to move on, I'd definitely say the staff team and especially the owner is much more responsive here. During the recent troubles with the updates, outfits, and modded cars the constant updates kept everyone in the loop and I never felt like I didn't know what was going on which is a very good thing. Updates are pretty frequent, and new features are close enough behind. LSRP was very fun, of course, or it wouldn't have dragged me back in every couple years, but I find the updated medium makes it easier to improve and add new things.
  12. When the dating website gets added to the links before the newest legal faction. Support for sure
  13. If the commands to operate it manually would still exist, then yeah for sure.
  14. It would be nice if you could choose to disable punching, but have it on by default.
  15. No point in adding it if it's just for the once in a blue moon public display.
  16. Assigning attributes to a uniform/clothing slot would be great, for reasons already expressed. Support!
  17. Speaking from the LSSD side, I personally enjoyed the event. Started off near the initial protest site, which eventually pulled back to the Hall of Justice, where we ended up staying until things tapered off. It was tense and I personally didn't see any subpar RP - had my deputy approached by someone who held a photo of the deceased man in front of his face, demanding his name to be spoken. There was a brief melee clash after but it ended after the beanbags came out. With regards to there being too many uniformed officers - the SD (and other factions I'm sure) has a saying that goes "never enough backup" where you're encouraged to be there to help your comrades no matter how many there may be. Even with the numbers we did have, it wasn't enough to fully protect the Hall of Justice, which saw people get close to and even try to enter on several occasions. My one major problem was the handling of it by the staff side. The fellow who initiated the protest was banned because of the whole 'mother's FB account' thing, and we were told the entire protest was voided. The reaction from other SD members was almost universal disappointment as things had just gotten interesting - only for it to be un-voided minutes later. It feels like the first voiding was a kneejerk reaction that wasn't properly thought out and had to be reversed almost immediately afterwards. Oh, and yeah, the streaming issues were annoying but luckily were not present for the majority of the riot.
  18. Support for sure. When I left my business to join SD, it was a whole ordeal to simply leave, because for some reason the /bleave wouldn't work and/or I couldn't find the spot. I had to contact one of the managers to fire me. Would've been a good deal easier if I could just use the UCP.
  19. The result of having a rather niche faction is that those who join it tend to be pretty dedicated. As a member of SD, my interactions with the Park Rangers have been positive, and I'm glad to have them around.
  20. Im very surprised it wasn't already..
  21. It is a bit silly you have to blindly pick everything up just to see what it is, and thought of this myself once or twice, some way of seeing the name and desc without taking it. Supporting for sure.
  22. Username: Clover Comment: Guys can be a bit eager sometimes but I'm damn glad I'm on their side, that's for sure.
