  1. been reminded of this suggestion through a notification, does anyone know if there's been any talk about it? it would be massively game changing for newer/returning players
  2. good idea, i see this like a "looking for" section but for rp, for either - players looking for others to get in and collaborate on their group rp idea - players looking for a specific kind of rp group that would fit their character well - groups looking for a certain type of character for their group if they feel someone/something is missing
  3. same, my character's been here since 2017 and i often tell people everything i've actually experienced including "the old days" when mirror park was the hot spot unfortunately it heavily clashes with a lot of people's narratives
  4. i mentioned this on another thread recently but i can't see it getting a good response as a suggestion worth a try, it would help a lot of players, new ones especially
  5. this sums it up quite well it's not much different to what players already do when they plan a character out anyway, i wouldn't even suggest it usually but since learning that the majority of players here use short term characters and frequently dispose of them the proposed forum section would speed up the process of linking players together and gauge appeal for their rp ideas, instead of individuals wondering whether they should or shouldn't pursue a character since time availability to work it out isn't infinite for everybody
  6. considering how most players keep their characters for short periods, i'm surprised this server doesn't have a direct "looking for rp" section where people can come together and create characters + group backstories, knowing that there's probably several people looking for the same kind of rp as yours but you're just not finding each other, when you've got numbers it makes it much easier to approach other rp situations/groups the counterargument here is probably going to be "find them icly" and some other advice that only applies to people who have 5+ hours a day free to play on gtaw, or those fortunate enough to be on an appropriate timezone i've had several chances to group up with people to form a new rp group and roaming with them was miles better than approaching people solo, but i found these people by luck and through people i already knew, newer players are not always nearly this lucky

    Snow!

classic danny payne move to say one small thing that'll piss off a lot of people you know how strongly some players feel about emulating los angeles
  8. i recall there being some contradictory rules about this as well, one says we should act like every area is busy, but it's also excused if someone chooses to rob you in the streets a friend of mine had a gun pointed at him from a car, while he was walking, on a "busy" street in vinewood but because of fear rp rules i believe you have to comply in that scenario and you're at the mercy of those players
  9. the only argument I've seen so far to counter this is the one blaming irresponsible drivers who don't want to rp the crashes they get into but assuming you drive responsibly and someone always crashes into you, it's a valid stance and I also want someone to answer to your question even if it might be rhetorical
  10. autopilot is fairly new to me as i started playing again two weeks ago, i used it once a day and my vehicle ran straight into a wall and cut across lanes hazardously a couple of times aside from this issue, what's the general opinion on the server's autopilot? i like using it because i'm never in a rush to go anywhere, it forces me to drive normally and lets me focus on ic conversation instead, on top of that it's a joy to watch and good for taking screenshots if its problems were fixed, then autopilot should be encouraged more to avoid all the issues that come from human error/carelessness in this server
  11. i can't imagine any valid response to this other than "well i like it and so should you" that 40 minutes point towards the end really sums it up, not everyone plays for 5+ hours a day to have an hour free to lend for rp that is repetitive and doesn't advance anything for anyone, i agree that people should drive safer but there should be script-enforced consequences for speeders in a collision in that case people conflate "good rp" with "it happens in real life so it must happen here" far too much

    Map changes

for whatever reason, rockstar put that massive waste of space in the game and left out long beach
  13. this is people being obtuse for the sake of being obtuse, as if adding these items is going to massively disadvantage them or the server
  14. tbh i get what they're saying, i have an okay amount of money myself after coming back and there's not really much you can do with it, you get much more value on this server by lucking out and meeting the right people to rp with
  15. what happened to /lower? it existed in 2017/18 and it seems to have been removed for some reason
  16. the fact that they're a teenager as well really brings it together, we've got a perfect specimen here
  17. do rpqm people ever get on their cases about realistic portrayal as they do with everyone else?
  18. before this year the last time i properly played this server was 2018 so can anyone inform me on when teenage rp became so huge, and why? i did some rp in south ls and teenagers were non existent then, now it seems to be over three quarters of the area, and if they're going around owning vehicles and the like anyway, what's the appeal in picking that age instead of being a young/middle aged adult?
  19. how often do they update vehicle prices when new vehicles come out? sounds like many are outdated
  20. to my surprise i think i'm seeing more people here oppose that and oppose the test in general, it really is pointless and makes little sense if your new character is middle aged and a long time resident of los santos
  21. made my 5%er character in 2017 and there was not only nobody else doing it but nobody understood it either, finally there's some representation
  22. that could just be due to how massive la is, I think nyc has at least two mls teams themselves seattle sounds like the biggest american city for the sport jokes aside the only good way to handle this is to automate it, you can't rely on players for scheduled work unless it's advertised to everyone and pays more at the time they're needed
  23. this is it when the server opened nervous explained that the 5k an hour was given to players as a boost, and to be flexibly roleplayed however you want, and i used to roleplay it as each of my characters' work income that happened off screen just like most tv shows/movies i did take up mining on one character because it was a fun group activity, but on my alts i created imaginary jobs/income that happened off screen and used the 5k paycheck money to back them up, because there aren't many jobs that are both genuinely interesting/fun AND fitting for my characters
  24. someone pointed out that this this is too easy of an answer but i believe it's the appropriate answer for so many questions that allude to the server not adhering to the real world - despite some people wanting it to be, gta rp isn't going to become a 1:1 life sim we all only have a limited amount of time per day or week to play on this server and monotony isn't for everybody when i looked for mechanic rp discussions a few months ago i remember catching a comment of yours in a discussion from 2019, one user there basically asked why the server doesn't force players to witness mechanic rp after being told that most people don't find it interesting or even remotely valuable to their experience of course it's the mechanic's idea of fun but that doesn't mean other players should be held captive and forced to watch if it's not fun for them, i understand that common courtesy sort of comes into play here but this is a game server, people shouldn't have to be tied down to something that they don't find fun (bar rule breakers facing punishment) the mechanic rp is only one example, i'm sure this applies to other professions in the server where it's realistic for the sake of realism, not for fun
