  1. I wish, at the least, they were all linked to this forum or kept on just one, and all had actual forms to fill in, instead of a copy paste format. This consistency would help a lot and look much cleaner.
  2. florida's one of the few names i still recognise here, 26k in just under four years is still crazy though
  3. A table is an item of furniture with a flat top and one or more legs, used as a surface for working at, eating from or on which to place things.[1][2] Some common types of table are the dining room table, which is used for seated persons to eat meals; the coffee table, which is a low table used in living rooms to display items or serve refreshments; and the bedside table, which is used to place an alarm clock and a lamp. There are also a range of specialized types of tables, such as drafting tables, used for doing architectural drawings, and sewing tables. All credit to the author @aloegarten.
  4. Wonder if I'm alone in thinking there needs to be more straightforward out of the loop type of threads like this since I was curious about south LS roleplay myself, but these can be a lottery for "take it far" type comments and I wasn't going to take the dive. Almost all of my input since rejoining has been taxi-oriented and this is no different - from a neutral perspective, I've picked up many fares from south LS, I've dropped fares off there, I've frequently seen dead bodies or police emergencies, or people (mostly teenagers) congregating outside buildings, Grove Street seems to be lively. I've not been robbed or attacked there at all, nor have I seen any active violence, I just seem to catch the aftermath of everything when I have to go there. Like you may have covered already, it's a massive change from 2018 - Rancho used to be the main spot, I recall Grove Street having a phase of middle class Japanese inhabitants which I found a little odd, and everywhere else (Strawberry/Chamberlain) had scattered populations. Same as always, RP there does not seem extremely welcoming and it's definitely more of a "if you know, you know" kind of scene. I can only imagine you'd have to make OOC connections and set up something with numbers if you want to do anything in south LS now. I have an older character that I kept there years ago but now that it's mostly teen-dominant (you'll all remember my recent thread on this), it's mostly a dead end for me. And while I have my gripes about the average age in south LS, and its occasional caricatures (people seem to have a hard time learning about AAVE), I don't buy into the "everyone there is a poor RP gang banger it's full of DM" riff that I've seen brought up.
  5. Might be a wet blanket opinion but I get this. For example, I remember players having a much stricter understanding of /b usage in 2017/2018 as even regular players would say "(( Cut /b ))" to unnecessary chatter, I joined this server being not so serious but eventually I aligned with these rules that were stricter than I was formerly used to. But /b usage is far too casual now and I see too many unnecessary conversations carried out in public. /cb is fine, /pm is fine (usually), and /b is fine if it's important (admin situation, pausing RP to discuss a rule, alerting someone about a bug, any other referee-like discussion), but unnecessarily excessive OOC conversation should be a violation of Common Courtesy if it's done in public. I can't speak on other OOC mediums since I don't use the Discord anymore. I mostly ignore /pm and /b in game unless it's important, it's fair enough to form a bond with people but like you said we're not here to make friends, this isn't the place for that.
  6. I've always wanted this, and have never seen it be done anywhere. Along with the benefit you already mentioned, it would open up some opportunities for medically experienced characters, too. This server loves its downtempo RP scenes and this would add to it, and make hospitals useful. I've learned to think differently about posting suggestions since they confirmed their method of picking them. Posting a good idea and seeing it get support can still set you up for disappointment if it's deemed to not be right for the server.
  7. In the process of getting a 2018 charge expunged, my lawyer told me OOC that the process doesn't happen too often because the lifespan of most players' characters here maxes out at around six months. I could believe it, sticking to the same character can be exhausting. Since coming back the only familiar face I've seen was Late's character, and mine knew him IC in 2018 so it was a nice reunion.
  8. agree with you up until this point, don't give anyone this fuel for the argument, it's completely invalid in this context these employees aren't playing to just work, they're playing this server in their free time for a good time and to make some steady income, and if that means slightly breaking the realism of company pay structures then that's what should happen and if the business owner is just above breaking even or, at most, steadily making back on their investment then that's fine too, because they're supposed to have acquired that business for the sake of roleplay in the first place and they should be sweated on that basis, they already get money spawned from thin air for people entering, why be more greedy? before anyone accuses me of being some kind of business hater, i owned two bars myself in 2018, i made some money but mostly had them for players to find other players when the server was low on players
  9. Not to "both sides" this argument but this is what I was going to say - I'm not a criminal/illegal player in any way, while I've spent some time in south LS, roughly 3/4 of my time back has been on taxi duty, and from a more neutral angle (arguably) civilian/"legal" characters are guilty of the hard man trigger happy attitude, too. In my first week back I drove through a car I didn't see (it hadn't streamed in yet) and a guy chased me down, trying to start a fight with me, even after I told him what probably happened in /b. The guy still kept going and eventually left me alone with a threat even though he should've voided. I've got a clip/screenshots (because it was funny) but it isn't right to share or name and shame. And sometimes you can "read a book by its cover" when you /ex players with overly self-loving, far from objective descriptions. Seriously, I saw someone's attributes completely comprised of "Extremely good looking, very charismatic, sexy and buff." and usually you know what to expect from these characters, they'll let OOC aggression bleed into IC especially when it's unreasonable to do so, and they'll play their characters like we're in a toned down GTA Online. There's too much OOC pride, or people taking offence OOC like the earlier example of calling someone chubby. I think it's great that I see admins ban someone every day for poor portrayal or any related reason, but I'm also wondering what each offending party's application looked like in the first place. Slightly off topic but I'm surprised so many people even voluntarily get into conflict over small things, I've looked through the complaints section of the forums and evenly sided conflict is usually a grey area that becomes a coin flip of who becomes the wrong/wronged party (at no fault of the admins - it will always be messy), not only should we be worried about IC consequences but you definitely do not want to get tied into a complaint either, and that itself should be a deterrent.
  10. Conflict inbound. I agree though, in "heavy RP" RCRP was really more my kind of server. Seems like the right moment to ask - has there been some kind of massive influx of Second Life players on this server in the last few years (2019/2020)? It's something that's been in the back of my mind since I started playing again and interacted with all kinds of characters through taxiing, the atmosphere is very different compared to 2018, the average /attributes has changed a lot too. I should clarify this isn't some kind of attack or negative comment, just a catch up, out of the loop type question.

I lost my property in 2018 for this because my activity was dwindling, and rightfully so as I wasn't using it properly. But the peak time player count was a quarter of what it is now, they were much more on top of property activity. If you have been wanting to make a property request and have looked around for unclaimed buildings, you'll find that everything has been taken, and you could swear that most of them haven't been opened in a while, at least in your time of activity. I think this issue merits its own thread, I have a lot to say about it and clearly you and others do as well. Here is my contribution to stay on topic.
  12. because this gang culture happens in the uk (and anywhere else) because people are stuck, crime happens when people make do with what they can in the area they're in anything in san andreas is going to look like a collection of posers

I think all houses have been taken by now, they were already being flipped hard in 2018 and I imagine them being gone has pushed the existence of apartments. In 2018 people were even allowed to own motel rooms and there weren't any of the menu apartments (the ones without lobbies). To my surprise, some of these cost upwards of 100-200K, nothing wrong with it, I'm just mentioning it to compare with how houses themselves used to cost just under $100K even when they were being flipped. I don't 100% understand businesses either. I approach random buildings sometimes and see that they exist but they're locked and I have yet to see them open, there's no way of finding out the business's activity status either, same with any LTD in the city if you want to get a job at one that doesn't allow people to /bjoin. Most of them never come up on the lease list, never show up green on the map (no manager/employee presence) so I can only assume they exist as cash machines.
  14. i've seen a few since coming back, but it would be good to see more food trucks there used to be a good congregation near the mp car dealership when a food van set up there and admins mapped in some seating, it was a good time and very accessible because it was held outdoors, any outdoor business/service is good in my opinion
  15. It's sort of a catch 22 but also something I don't see changing because there's no incentive for people to have older characters unless they actually wanted them, and even the ones that want them might be demotivated. Relatable, I've been to South LS on an older character, it's like walking into a younger amalgamation of early 90s hood movies, just much less interesting and more "hey, someone in their 40s, how unusual".
  16. there's a lot of tedious things from outside the game that you'd think people would want to avoid but, to our surprise, still happens on the server and are appealing for some people college lecture rp, maintenance rp, garage rp, anything extremely downtempo that offers very little in character development like being pulled over by police and the situation ending as you'd expect seems to me that it's all for the atmosphere, it all contributes to something and people do enjoy it
  17. Bravado on this server (or most RP servers) is on another level. It's another caricature and sometimes I really can't tell whether they're doing a bit or if they're serious.
  18. posh version of frapsed c u on forums
  19. queue that one kind of person to appear and tell us that we have to rp los santos as being big and full of people, which just doesn't work, and for anyone curious this attitude comes from discussions around the continuity thread real life comparisons in this context are cited far too much and they're usually invalid, the line has to be drawn somewhere and you have to take the map at face value, i've tried pretending that the map is much bigger than it is but with the time scale it doesn't match up unless you're doing screenshot rp by yourself the island in this game is actually the size of (if not smaller) than compton, ulsa itself is tiny compared to ucla, and well done to all the people who don't cause inconsistencies by pretending otherwise, and this goes hand in hand with the inconsistencies @Craazy pointed out regarding gangs if a school does come in, i am certain that real life accuracy, especially matching la, is going to be the least of its issues
  20. seems like admins are capable of doing that, not exactly a school but there was a ulsa shooting where the shooter got jailed/banned and i assume the admins voided/revived where necessary hubba and his friends used to have dm videos/compilations but i don't recall them trending massively
  21. i thought they were referring to those that came out after they renamed sarp to ngrp and several sarp servers came after that
  22. perhaps then we can replicate this excellent scene from season four, so much raw passion and great rp potential
  23. there's already a ngrp thread up, isn't that what sarp was? 09 but you already know me mr man, only way to spot the fakes is the people posturing about "hehe yeah i played there hehe i dmed people heheheh cool right???"
  24. 28, and several ranging from 20s/30s/40s. I made a post about ages earlier which you might enjoy. I'll either learn OOCly how to play dominoes or just be there on my character for the hang out/conversation because this sounds excellent, South LS needs that iconic barbershop.
  25. Are these still illegal? I like tinted windows but avoided them after a friend got lectured for half an hour for their tints from 2018.
