  1. Due to the circumstances of the CK war, I believe this is the end for JTM due to several deaths, and arrests of various leadership in-character although this wasn't the ending I quite expected. I wanted to leave the faction thread open so that more members could post their endings, but you'll likely see those in the various member's character threads instead. The faction has finally come to an end, although many members still exist within the world. I wanna thank everyone who has collaborated with this faction to create some really enjoyable RP, and an environment I've enjoyed logging into almost everyday for the past year and a half. I honestly didn't expect this faction to last this long and it took some turns in development which I never asked for, or wanted, a bunch of bumps in the road, but we just decided to roll with it regardless so that we could keep consistent. I've made some great friends during my time RPing within JTM, and I can't wait to move onto new concepts. It's a shame that it's had to come to an end like this, but all great things have to come to an end sometime. ❤️

  2. Heya, So, I've decided I want to give back to the community by helping out with other people's projects that need things recorded, such as faction video voicing, IC radio advertisements, stuff like that. I have some experience with narrating/voice acting, and it's a good way for me to get some more practice in. If you're interested or have some questions, feel free to send me a DM on Discord or here. I tend to reply a lot quicker on Discord though.

  3. Is murder still worth it? From the SAAN meme desk We have all at some point fantasized about committing a gruesome murder, but is that still a good idea? When someone commits a murder that person will almost always leave behind evidence. For example, someone can leave a skin peel when stabbing a hobo to death in a dark alley. With this evidence the police can then make a DNA profile. I know what you are thinking: ''Who cares my DNA is not registered in the government database. I can kill as many people as I want.'', but that isn't entirely true. If your cousin Steve from Sandy Shores ever got arrested for something then his DNA is register with the police. Since the DNA of family members are very similar it won't take long before the police can link it back to you. Thanks Steve. Stock image of man stabbing a hoe to death Nowadays Steve doesn't have to kill a hooker in his car to have his DNA registered. He could willingly send his DNA to a shady company to find out how Japanese he is. Zero percent Steve, you are from Sandy Shores. This is why we from SAAN advise you to stop committing murders. There are real life consequences these days. Let's all be a little nicer to each other. Read SAAN HERE!

  6. Given the circumstances It was a great opportunity to role play with this group. Regardless of the hatred and hostility that was generated I had a great 14 month run. We were far from perfect but I'd like to think we've all grown as players and hopefully gained something meaningful from this. For everyone I encountered, friend or foe, I want to wish you the best and onto the next! I wish everyone on both sides would have relaxed a bit and kept the toxicity down but I know we all value the time and effort we've put into these virtual lives.

  8. Short description: Allow a player to check with a new command /breakincheck whether a property has actually been broken in to, instead of guessing whether it was or whether the door was accidentally left unlocked. Allow the admin spectating the breakin to set a note through /breakinnote about what was broken to gain entrance. Detailed description: Currently, there's no way to figure out whether an unlocked door on a property was a result of a bug/crash on the server's part, whether the owner or a tenant forgot to lock it, or whether the door has been blasted off its hinges. Only the owner gets informed their property was broken in to, but I've been told that's as descriptive as it gets. The suggestion therefore is that the admin supervising the /breakin request can make a note to specify how the burglars gained entrance. And anyone can at the entrance of the property interact through /breakincheck, seeing the description the admin put in about the door being forced by a crowbar, the window being thrown in with a brick, etcetera. Commands to add: /breakincheck (or equivalent) /breakinnote (or equivalent for the admin to make a note about the entry) Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? Currently, for every property we secure at Gruppe Sechs where we find a door opened when checking, we basically roll a dice; either the owner left it open on aiccdent, the server caused it to be open, it got broken in to. We /report to ask whether any record exists about the breakins and while we sometimes get told a definitive no, often the administration will reply with a "we don't know". This often results in us having to file it under accidentally unlocked, even though someone might have taken a sledgehammer to the door not 30 minutes ago and made off with a bunch of loot. Through the introduction of this system, security companies can go about their roleplay without having to bother the administration, who I am sure have a lot better things to do than check whenever we stand at a door. And we no longer have to wait around after /report until an admin has the time to take a look at the matter. It thus allows us to roleplay the consequences of an admin-consented roleplay scene, without having to drag the admin back into it. Furthermore, it allows more roleplay for people who RP in a close knit community, because they now have the ability to check up on each other's houses. Or at least check when something appears off. 13. Not supported by me. Business requests are available for new players too. Raising the base prices will make it much harder for new players to start their own businesses. Forcing a new player to grind 2-300 hours just to get the property is making no sense for me. You cannot solve the house prices by raising business prices too.

  15. Weekend At Hughes' Elizabeth Rankin Chief Charles Hughes. Since August last year, the Los Santos Police Department has had a revolutionary mind at the helm - instantly noticeable by the vast changes implemented throughout his reign - most recently with the development and opening of the Vespucci Headquarters in the west of the city, replacing the Mission Row precinct. Promising a wide array of training overhauls, the Chief of Police believes his officers will become the best-trained yet. We sat down with the Chief of Police to discuss the changes coming throughout the police department, and the controversy surrounding pursuits in the eye of public safety. Instantly noticeable is the charisma that oozes from the Chief - within moments of sitting down, the jokes and friendliness instantly smashed the glass on any stereotype he was a stiff, traditional 'police chief', and instead, there stood a man who seeks to drag the Los Santos Police Department up to scratch with the twenty-first century. Preaching modernity, openness and transparency, Hughes will reflect on his success so far - an overhaul of the Media Relations and Community Affairs Division, which has seen more press releases and opportunities for community events than ever before and the growth - both in quality and quantity, of the many divisions, composing within the police department. Look below for our conversation with the Chief of Police, Charles Hughes. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ What are you currently working on to serve the city better? Well, I think it's fair to say we've been in our new house for a while now and that it's worked wonders for the department already. It's certainly useful to have everyone close at hand, but not cramped into just one station, so what we're working on at this moment is training. It's training, training, and more training. We've recently created a new bureau called the Personnel and Training Bureau which hosts our older training programs, along with the new police Training and Education Division. The Police Training and Education Division has taken over the tasks of our old Training Section which was a part of Recruitment and Academy, while also adding a whole host of new courses to offer. This goes into simple things like honing existing skills such as report writing, arrest procedure, dives into personnel-related things such as, well, we're working on sexual harassment courses, appropriate behaviour in the workplace, but also more niche things like for example helping our officers keep up with changes in the penal code, important case laws that are relevant to their work, and then there's the general training like working with equipment. And this has been bundled with uh, our Field Training Program, which has been entirely redone last month. We've taken a revolutionary - a new and different approach to training our newest officers, which has so far been working wonders. The initial trials have been a huge success, beyond what we even expected. And that's everything that we have done. Or well, those are large things we've recently done. I'm sure I'm forgetting things here and there. I think that since Chief Lagorio and I took on this challenge, we've always really emphasized our want to bring the LSPD into the 21st century. And that's on all fronts. So ever since we were appointed, we've been looking at opportunities to either remodel or renew things for three reasons. That's efficiency, quality, and to ensure there's an emphasis on community policing. the former doesn't necessarily go hand in hand, and what we've seen often done is that there's an emphasis on either one or the other. What we're trying to do here is correcting that balance. With training being one of the most important things for my officers out in the field, especially those that are very new to the job, we felt that the emphasis was best placed there for the future, but like I said. It's not everything we've been doing. Could you tell me the safety protocols in place for civilians when the department decides to call a pursuit? Our protocols fall down to supervisor discretion. Our supervisors are trained in recognizing potentially unsafe scenarios. So the way a pursuit works is, a unit will call in pursuit, and they will specifically request three things; That's backup, an airship, and a supervisor. the airship (Helicopter) is there to provide, generally speaking, coverage from above. They'll be the ones tracking the suspect and relaying traffic density or other important details to units engaged in the pursuit. So, the pilots and the officers flying with them relay information relevant to the situation both to the units and the supervisor. Now the supervisor will quote on quote gather all the possible data they can as the situation develops in order to decide what to do with it. Now there are a lot of variables that play into this. But when it comes to cancelling or not initiating a pursuit, it generally falls down to three things. One - is it safe for the public? Two - is it safe for our officers? and three - what are we pursuing the suspect for? The safety of the public is our number one priority and usually leads to pursuits being terminated. Officer safety is, well, also very important, but they are trained to deal with these types of scenarios, hence they come second. [In the event of a civilian injury] In general, if an officer causes an accident they will pull out of the pursuit to tend to the accident. If that is impossible, which may be the case, they will ask for a clear unit - that is, a unit that isn't tending to a call - to respond to the scene of the accident, along with the fire department. The types of situations that I'm referring to where it may be impossible, is if, for example, letting the suspect go is more dangerous then pulling out of the pursuit - which you'd be surprised happens more often than not. Or well, I should say, happens more often then you would think. Does the department offer compensation to victims of traffic accidents caused by the department? If it is generally a situation where the reasonable expectation would be there for us to provide compensation, yes, those situations are handled by the internal affairs group, who investigates what happened to determine if we were at fault and should pay compensation. Obviously, the budget from which we provide said compensation comes out of the pockets of this community. So we need to be careful about how we spend it. Would an officer be instructed to instigate a pursuit in any event of evasion? I cannot answer that question fully as it would give away valuable tactics we use in the field, generally speaking though, only if deemed required. We will, if the situation is unsafe, choose to instead file for an arrest warrant to be handled at a later date - however, that also depends on the information available to the officer in the field. So, in terms of the pursuit policy of the department, you're happy with the situation as it stands? Although I love my community, I would be lying if I did not say that violent crime is a serious issue in our city. To combat the sometimes high rate of violent crime, and keep the wider community safe, my officers must at times put themselves into a dangerous situation to prevent more people from getting hurt. With that in mind, yes, I am satisfied with our standards on vehicular pursuits. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

  17. Short description: Ability to switch between paying for furniture with the bank versus being forced to pay for it with cash. Detailed description: Currently, you can only pay for furniture with cash. This means that someone like me, who runs an interior design firm, literally has to make multiple runs to the bank to withdraw $10,000 or $20,000 or w/e. It's inconvenient and a massive liability. What if I get robbed one day when I have $15,000 on me? The only reason I would ever have money like that on me is to pay for furniture. This suggestion would eliminate that with the ability to toggle between paying for furniture with the bank or with cash on hand. Commands to add: /fpay [bank/cash] Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? It's a convenience issue as well as, for me, a security issue. I get worried all the time about being robbed because i'm forced to keep $15,000-$20,000 on me to pay for furniture with the current system we have. If we change it to a system like this, it would be the best of both worlds as you'd be able to toggle between using money from the bank versus paying with cash. Additional information: N/A

  18. NEIGHBORHOOD SPANNING DRUG/VIOLENT NETWORK EXPOSED? By Saskia Valentina THE LAW STRIKES AGAIN? Official reports from the Los Santos Police Department confirm the potential risk of an expanding drug/firearms involved gang, believed to be operating within a number of impoverished neighbourhoods across Los Santos. Officials state they are reluctant to release information thus far, as investigations are currently pending following a shoot out that took place within the tall-standing apartments of Alta last weekend. Two suspects were declared dead-on-arrival from EMS, along with one believed by passer who was left in critical condition after the gruesome scene had taken place. Along with casualties involved of the crime scene, sources confirm that a mass amount of crack cocaine methamphetamine and Xanax were recovered from a totalled vehicle on scene. An automatic and numerous semi-automatic weapons were also recovered by peace officers that night. The remaining suspects, who are still at large were seen leaving the area in a '12 Blacked out Honda Accord. The vehicle in question was recovered in the late hours of Thursday night, totalled and burnt out within the south-sides Davis area. Law enforcement has commented and urged anybody with information in regards to the the Honda Civic's occupants to come forward, assuring the public that all leads will be followed up with promptly. "Sadly, we do not deal with these time of crimes in an area such as Alta, it saddens me deeply that these crimes are being commited in such an area. Those involved will be held accountable for their actions, if it takes days or months. They will make a mistake, and we'll be watching when they do." Detective Charlie Wilson stated when questioned on scene. With the recent upraise in ethnic minorities in the area it is known to the Los Santos Police Department that statistically the ethnic groups suspected of said crimes were of a Hispanic descent. These groups of minorities that are suspected to be the cause of the rise in violent-attacks within the area as-well as narcotic usage/distribution increase are under the magnifying glass of the Police Department, it is known to themselves that these individuals often named to be "Ladrones which translates to pirate, bandit, burglar in Spanish or Spanish-America". These Ladrones crew individuals are known to partake in numerous amount of activities that not only range in distribution of narcotics/firearms, these activities are suspected to be hostage-taking, racketeering, extortion, home invasions/robberies as-well as prostitution, due to these increase of these crimes within the once known to be a crime-free place it is believed there has been an increase of pressure from the Los Santos Police Department in an overall area to crack down on the crimes which are being caused by the minority group. OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION The faction is aims to portray a loose drug/firearms network operating within a variety of different areas within Los Santos, mostly operating within the certain districts. Anyone wishing to role-play with the faction is expected to make their way in through In-Character means. Thread will be updated in time, any questions regarding the faction, or how to join can be directed to myself. Those wanting to progress and post screenshots with the faction will be required to send CK permission to the leadership Kizzy.
