people on both sides always wanna come across as the strongest person in most situations so that's why they tend to escalate, people get really aggressive over weird minor shit to escalate situations. Goes for both sides.

How to avoid being harassed by gangsters IC?

Simple, act like you would in real life. If you go to an area and there is a gang presence and someone starts pressing you and asks who you are or why you here, just answers the questions. If you start acting like a badass then things escalate, a lot of "civilian" rpers tend to act tough because oh my lord how can they get pressed by this random gangbanger?! If it's a normal criminal rper they won't escalate if you don't.

If you get questioned by some shady individuals in real life, is your immediate response to escalate or do whatever they are asking and get the hell out of an uncomfortable situation?

They askin' cause they do not know who you are and you might be a scout of their opps', so answering and doing your best to leave is the go to for a civvy'.

how is it acting like a pussy to decide NOT to provoke the street thug with tattoos on his face in the middle of his own territory? Gary Cooper is an actor, I'm sure he's never met a real criminal.

 

Not sure you've ever encountered a real criminal IRL, but there are some scary people out there in the world of gangs. Even people like Gary Cooper would be scared.

 

Only on GTA:W do people think a guy that looks like this wouldn't back down to a guy that looks like the second picture and instead decide to escalate the situation
