Consider transgender characters as special characters

It is a sensitive topic, however one that needs addressing regardless. In the past, when we had a surge in questionable characters there were rules implemented to combat that and to maintain a decent level of roleplay quality. Over the recent couple of years, there was an exponential spike in transgender characters which were essentially just erp characters, nothing else. These characters were mass reported to the already overwhelmed and small team of RPQM, which didn't exactly stop the issue. This is becoming more and more unrealistic, the roleplay quality is very low and these characters don't contribute anything of real value to the server. Due to how these characters have historically been portrayed as fetish characters, I think it's fair to finally pull the plug and make these slots on an approval basis, much like any other special character. The poor portrayal of these characters are borderline insulting to those who have actually gone through therapies in real life. Like I mentioned earlier, RPQM is a very small team which is overwhelmed with piss-warm character reports, so any other reports will be thrown to the backlog. When addressing issues like this, it's best to remain proactive.

Thoughts?

Out of dozens and dozens of transgender characters I have seen maybe a couple try to RP it somewhat properly.

Most others are just 10/10 pretty, petite and young ‘girl’ with an 8 incher.

Kinda odd, chief.

I’m on the fence, I feel there is a great amount of well portrayed transgender characters and even intersex characters who actually either have experience themself to play these characters or they are well researched but at the same time there is a majority of players who play these characters using their favorite pornhub video as a reference.

However at the same time, the same as a minor arguement that it should be RPQM based on a case by case basis. There is plenty of poor roleplay portrayal done of minors, Serbians, Italians, Greeks. RPQM can make their task easier with handling reports by just confronting these people about their character and if it comes off as poorly portrayed make them fix it

This is my stance on it, for every trans character there's 5 minors, Serbian, Albanian, Armenian, and all sorts of characters that deserve the same treatment.

Imagine if you needed approval to roleplay a minor, trans character, Albanian, Serbian, and Armenian.

No, if you see one that has a terrible portrayal - report the character.

I don't see how this reduces staff workload. All it does is shift the work from an RPQM report to the work of reading, discussing and answering special character applications. The latter likely having more of a time pressure on it because the person waiting to be accepted will want to RP.

I agree that the portrayal of transgender characters on the server for the most part sucks and involves stereotype after stereotype, but if we're being honest, so does the portrayal of pretty much every concept here. Can't lock every concept behind an application, all we can do as a community is keep an eye out for the bad ones and either report or guide them.

If you can guarantee meticulous scrutiny and prompt handling of those applications, I would be okay with this idea. While we're at it, extend it to encompass characters whose gender identities transcend the conventional male or female, as many of them have questionable roleplay standards too.

The underlying concern, however, is that we already know how that's gonna go. As many others have stated, the implementation of an application-based barrier for these character concepts will only increase the already overwhelming workload carried by staff. If anything, our focus should be on alleviating their responsibilities rather than exacerbating them.

As a previous member of RPQM these type of reports are pretty easy to handle since the evidence is already out there, I personally don't think putting this characters behind a request would solve this issue. There are much more complicated RPQM cases, cases that feel easy in papers but turns into a headache which can come from any type of character.

I always find it amusing when people say "Just report these characters" like evidence of them using their characters solely for sexually explicit roleplay will just fall out of the sky. The only way to gather this evidence is by engaging in the same sort of roleplay with them. If you don't do that you're not going to be able to find any evidence that is good enough to create a valid RPQM report.

This essentially means the only people that have evidence of these characters being solely used for sexual purposes are the people that fully embrace that, don't care and gladly engage in this type of roleplay to satisfy out of character urges and they're not going to report characters they've done this with as it is essentially self snitching.

This also makes me believe some people here on this community and especially on this thread are fully aware of this loophole and gladly use it as an excuse to keep this going.

Talk to a few ex RPQM members and be TRULY enlightened on how much RPQM and the server in general deals with these issues and how insanely rampant it is. @nateX

You're going to have a few shills in the thread claiming they hurt nobody, it happens in private so why would you care? It doesn't bother you if you don't see it. But I believe this to be a fallacy. Characters who are poorly portrayed and primarily used for sexual purposes as are 95percent of trans characters on this server should be considered "troll" characters considering they are highly insulting to trans people in real life and simply abused by men wanting to engage in their dom mommy futa fantasy.

Why do you think nearly ALL of them are trans and ALSO happen to be exclusively interested in women? Some of them have evolved to claim to not be lesbian and they're pansexual/bisexual or whatever but this is also just a facade, just something to make them look better or more serious than they actually are.

Just my two cents.
