  1. If you say so. Don’t you wonder why people complain about security officer portrayal so much? What you’re doing isn’t realistic but I guess we’ll agree to disagree. You do you boo 👍 Have a good one.
  2. So? Pulling a weapon on someone who’s hasn’t presented a threat is just bad portrayal. Using it as a defense if your life is in danger is fine. They aren’t supposed to be cops which is how many of them act.
  3. I agree but to chime in here…. Guards on here seem to think that pulling a weapon is okay to do as a good offense, not defense. This is not realistic and not a good portrayal of a real security faction no matter which way you slice it.
  4. People don’t always want to RP a middle class average joe. It’s that simple. It’s an RP server where you should be able to portray anything you want within the standards set by the server. If people want to RP a rich person, so what? I have no issue with that. The issue becomes when portrayal of said rich character is piss poor and takes away from the overall quality in the server. RP whatever you want, just don’t be shit at it. When it is shit, RPQM should be there to slap you straight.
  5. Hate to say it but this will be denied. Love the idea but they’ve admitted that /bad is their main earner and this would take away from that. Sucks but it is what it is.
  6. I mean as a trucker. I play in a time zone where nothing is hardly ever open. I shouldn’t be punished for my time zone with not being able to deliver anywhere. Basically what you’re saying is if nothing is open, I can’t be a trucker. No thanks.
  7. That works great when you’re in the right time zone. This punishes anyone who plays outside of peak or late at night when hardly anything is open.
  8. @Strobe Anything specific that you're still looking to have tested?

    Perma /vdup

Might as well get rid of all the business scripts that exist too, since those can and are exploited. Wouldn't want to chance that. Housing system too. People log in just to keep their properties. Might as well get rid of all the houses while we're at it. Exploit! Jokes aside and no hard feelings, this is not the way to approach things on why they should or shouldn't be allowed.
  10. Lol I don’t know maybe because there’s an actual problem? Robbery RP on this server is 9 out of 10 times shit tier and borderline insulting to the meaning of heavy role play. Let’s try fixing that first before making it easier for them to buy a mask and commit even more shit tier robberies.
  11. Bump. Not giving this one up lol.
  12. Bump. Seems like there's an agreement on this. Can we possibly get this change to UCP account hours rather than individual characters? Please.
  13. IFM won't let it happen. Sucks. They already OOC stepped in when the IC government tried to pass a law legalizing it. Wish it were different, but it is what it is.
  14. @Nervous Any way to consider the compromise? If the intent is to keep brand new players away for 20 hours, I can get behind that. However players who have more than 20 hours across their entire UCP account shouldn't have to reach 20 hours on every character from then on out. They aren't considered new players anymore at that point. After 20 UCP-wide game hours, that should be more than enough to suffice for the goal. Even @effion agrees with this compromise 😁 Pretty please?
  15. If it's a nightclub that simply has the bar script to rename custom alcohol items and provide the alcohol, the only income is from: Selling alcohol at a profit Door fees (Not as many businesses do this anymore) The 1K per person government bonus Bartenders, security & managers do not get paid the $4K per hour bonus from the government /startshift script in these businesses with no other script besides the bar script. At this point, that standard 4K per hour generally comes out of the owner's pocket. If a nightclub is being fair, they'd be paying out at a minimum of 4K per hour for one bartender and generally security guards inside or at the door (1-2) at 4K - 5K per guard per hour. So per hour, a fair owner would be paying out 4K-16K per hour, if not more depending on how generous they are with regards to payments. The issue of nightclub owners being shit owners and stingy towards their workers can be argued as an IC issue or a portrayal issue at this point. However, without that 1K per person bonus at this point, there isn't much room for income leftover once paying out staff properly. If you were to do away with the 1K per person entry bonus, I'd say the happy medium would be to allow these workers access to the /startshift functionality to receive the $4K per hour and put the onus on the business owner to earn a profit from selling the alcohol and other creative methods. I wouldn't put the pressure on them to have to pay out their workers when the only income at that point is from door fees / alcohol profits and whatever else they can come up with. To me, that's the most fair way to do this.
  16. Then there would have to be a medium. If you get rid of the bonus, let the employees get paid the 4K / hour from the government. Clubs are quite expensive to run past the first hour if you're having to pay the bartenders, security, etc. from your own pocket especially if there is no bonus. Without the 1K per person bonus, larger establishments are pretty much unable to run for more than an hour or so. All this counting on the fact that a larger establishment is run correctly. When corners are cut, obviously they don't pay out much and keep the rest. I'm advocating for businesses who try to do it correctly. When a club has to pay 1-2 bartenders and 1+ security staff + a manager per hour from their pocket, it adds up really quick without that government bonus. If we go without it, then let the employees get paid the 4K per hour from the staff system and it should all balance out. Everyone goes home happy.
  17. Someone gets it. Bravo. It's actually quite realistic to have ridiculous lawsuits. Read above. Many lawyers will work completely pro bono and only take their fee if you win, otherwise they get nothing. Granted they only take the case if they feel they have a reasonable chance of winning. For your reading pleasure, here's a random list of ridiculous lawsuits that actually went to a court room before it was dismissed or dropped. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2020/02/03/25-really-weird-lawsuits-you-wouldnt-believe-were-ever-filed/41083385/
  18. Product of a system bred by the violence that created it. How do you expect my character to act? In the short time my character has lived in Los Santos they've been robbed on several occasions and even kidnapped into the middle of nowhere, seen people killed in the middle of the street and nearly killed just because they were standing too close to someone at a bar. My character is going to react defensively, especially if they have a weapon. You expect legal role players to just roll over and play dead when Los Santos is the real life equivalent of the Favelas? No thanks. My character will be on guard and react without prejudice when they fear their life is about to be in danger. It's the only appropriate response when they live in a city where the crime rate is 10 times worse than any real city in the United States in real life. Don't get me wrong, my character won't pull their weapon if they have already lost the upper hand or lost control of the situation. If you get the drop on my character, they will comply. I'm not out to DM anyone. But until that moment happens, expect my character to react to any sign of aggression or their life being put in danger. Fix the system and unnecessary amounts of escalation and crime and my character might act differently. Until then, don't be surprised when it happens.
  19. I also think the changes to the business entry system creates a lag in business openings. Now that it's $1000 per person entered up to 40 people, but every 48 hours, you see bars/clubs staggering openings because they make no money if they get all 40 people in one night. They just don't open up the next night because it costs them money to run bartenders and other staff. I feel this is counter productive to ensuring a healthy ecosystem for businesses, workers, etc.
  20. Honestly they should just add more supply points throughout the city. The fact that most supply points are on one end of the city is an issue, even though it’s more realistic being there’s the port. You’re not going to fix this problem by throwing more money at it because the routes are still going to suck driving from one end to the other and back. That’s just the way it is. Find a couple of properties on the other side of the city near the beach side opposite from the port and add in a group of supply points. The weapon supply points only being out in Sandy is in essence punishing any gun shops in the city. Truckers just aren’t going to want to do that run when they get paid almost the same as a route that’s less than a mile away from the supply point. Short of a complete trucking script revamp, the only way to help businesses that are farther away from the supply points on the port side of the map is to add closer supply points to make the runs shorter for businesses on the beach side. You can’t fix the current system any other way. Trucking is anti-fun and making the same amount of money (in many routes) for far drives as they do for short drives, guess what? They’ll just do the short drives and the other businesses will suffer. You can’t fault them either. Trucking is literally the opposite of a rewarding RP job.

    Ads In Game

Has it ever been fully defined what kind of medium the advertisements take place on? I feel if its a Craigslist type medium, then some of the restrictions in the rules don't make sense. If it's more of a larger medium like TV/billboard/radio, then these need to be policed far differently than they are now. It seems like we're being kept in a grey area and that's partly what's causing the issues. Need some clarification from someone in management / rules department.
