  4. I agree. The pop-up for /attributes was a God send, if the same can be done for /stashinfo then it would be super convenient.
  5. I find it incredibly difficult to locate other lawyers in game. I am concerned with the fact that, if research was done on cases and logs or forum private messages were uncovered, we would see minimal interactions between other attorneys/clients and instead more of a gravitation towards the use of Discord for ease of access or under the impression that the information would be easy to acquire and thus it justifies Discord arrangements. Other groups do not have the same privileges. Another thing I'm concerned with is wait times but it's a hard one to combat. You want to have a thorough and well-roleplayed case, but you also don't want people to be locked up for beyond what they should be as it cripples their enjoyment. I feel as though time served should always be default when it comes to court cases. This is a game, after all.
  6. Similar to the SD and PD topics except for the judiciary system. This pertains to anything relating to criminal/civil court cases and the procedures/roleplay which surround them. If you've engaged with the judiciary system to some degree, whether that's through actively roleplaying within it as a lawyer or as a client, keeping up with cases, or meeting lawyers in game, I'd love to hear your opinions on how things go. I've thrown a few guiding questions down below--you don't have to answer any of them if you don't want to, but they're there in case anyone is stuck on what they can contribute to the discussion. Have you had any positive or negative experiences while participating in the judiciary system? What did you enjoy about the positive experiences? How could the negative experiences have been turned into positives one? Are you satisfied with the way the [constantly improving] judiciary system is currently functioning? If you are, what elements do you like about the system? If not, what optimizations would you suggest? Are there features you would like to see incorporated in the judiciary system? Alternatively, are there features which are already incorporated but you would like to see them more flushed out/detailed? Have you noticed any discrepancies with how the judiciary system operates compared to in real life? Are these discrepancies reasonable given game limitations or are they game-breaking and immersion-breaking? Do you think engaging with judiciary roleplay is easy or hard? Do you find it fun or tedious? Why? Do you find it easy to locate and speak with lawyers in game/in character?
  7. "Is this clear?" What are you going to do, fight me IRL? Just relax. It's not my fault that you posted something that wasn't true and pretended like it was. You said something on this thread and it was factually incorrect, regardless of how passionate you are about expressing your internet opinions and your freedom of e-speech. You should do some research first before you jump on topics and say things and then pretend as if they have a factual foundation. Your lack of research is what made you wrong in the opinion you gave in this topic, and if you continue to lack diligence in the future, then I hope you learn to better cope with your baseless opinions and their crippling lack of credibility instead of pseudo-threatening people online. Lol. Also, if you actually read the case, you'll see the minimal (if any) impact the letter had on it due to the very reason of it being voided. This was an obstacle navigated by those relevant in the background. Those relevant excludes you, which is why you don't know any better. Anyhow, like I said, you lack credibility and I'm not about to keep arguing with someone who isn't credible. Good luck with your fight against the big bad extortionists.
  8. What? I don't care. I'm not an admin. It's not my problem if a report takes a week or ten years to solve, and I have no idea why the letter was voided. It's not my business and it's not your business, either. I just don't see the sense in people who talk about something that they clearly haven't even read through or researched and broadcast an opinion on it as if that opinion has any factual basis. This is especially so when it comes to a topic like extortion which is clearly a hot point in the community right now. The last thing we need are people like you spreading misinformation about it when people clearly already have their pitchforks and torches out.
  9. I'm not going to go back and forth with you if you're going to be ignorant. You said that he got 9 days for conspiring to murder a business owner. That's just simply not true. Go read the case and figure out what exactly he got those nine days for before posting on the thread like you've got a vivid understanding of it.
  10. He was released on time served and he was in the county jail for 19 days. The maximum time he could have faced for that was life with the possibility of parole after 20 days. The minimum is 15 days. This is being appealed. It's a poor example to use, especially since it's unfinished and, if you actually read the case, there's not exactly an avalanche of evidence which points to extortion directly so much as it addresses the conspiracy to commit murder. You're still wrong though, regardless of his sentence, considering he was found not guilty of extortion anyhow. He never conspired to murder a business owner in that case. Again, just actually read it before you jump on threads and talk about it.
  11. You have zero idea what you're talking about. He didn't get 9 days for conspiring to kill a legal business owner. It was part of a whole sting operation where he conspired, with the person he was extorting, to murder someone at the behest of the extortion victim. The case is more elaborate than you're giving it credit for and I suggest you go read it over before throwing out misinformation like that. Also there's tragedy all over this thread--people taking simplified summaries and running with them as if those summaries could draw light to the facts and specific and different circumstances surrounding every individual case of [attempted] extortion. The fact that the example where a player, John Reynolds, is literally rule breaking to avoid roleplaying as an extortion victim yet is somehow getting sympathy points from others is mind-boggling.
  12. Interior: Exterior: Top floor apartment. Parking available all around the building with an outdoor pool at the back. Market Price: $240,000 Renovations: $17,347 Total: $257,347 Starting Price: $260,000 Buyout: $350,000 Minimum Bid Increase: $5,000
  13. What? Dude, you're going mad MLK over here. There's definitely a distinction between bad roleplayers and good roleplayers. This is literally a literary skill that has to be developed. If you honestly say you go in game and have never seen one person whose roleplay was so bad (whether that was due to grammar/spelling, character portrayal, or staleness) that you just thought, "Fuck man that's tragic," then you have got to be lying or totally oblivious! The point about effort is just silly. Obviously you need to put effort in to improve any skill. If they don't put effort into their roleplay then that makes them a bad roleplayer, just like if you don't put effort into writing an essay for university then you'll get a bad mark. It's a direct correlation. You wouldn't say, "There's no such thing as a bad essay, just an essay with no effort." They're interchangeable.
  14. Yeah, the acronym itself is inconsistent with the actual name of the university according Google and the ULSA page: https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/University_of_San_Andreas,_Los_Santos Don't think it makes much of a difference either way! Good luck all the same, I'm interested to see how the classes and lectures are going to go down.
  15. Neat, wish this was a thing when my character was studying there. Good luck. One thing, though--isn't the university named the University of San Andreas, Los Santos, and not the University of Los Santos, San Andreas?
  16. I totally agree with Preservist. I have a work phone and a personal phone IC and typing out all of those numbers every time, over and over again, can be inconvenient and a hassle. If this is an easy addition, then I fully support it, as well as being able to change phones based on the phone's inventory number (or some other method that prevents us from typing eight digits every time we want to swap).

    Relationship RP

I don’t care about sexual roleplay as long as you’re aware of the age of the player you’re doing this with and you’re confident that it’s not a minor behind the screen. As a grown adult, sexual roleplay doesn’t phase me and, like others, I’m perplexed by the hypersensitivity around the subject. If it’s out of your comfort zone then sure, don’t do it, but I don’t see the point in OOC aggression towards people who do engage in it. I don’t see sex words on a screen as important enough to warrant all of the “disgust”. At the same time, I personally might ERP if you catch me baked and on a good day, but for the most part I timeskip. I love my family roleplay. My character recently had a baby and I have a friend playing my IC husband who I have great and emotional roleplay with. (As a side-note, we don’t ERP, we fade to black.) On top of that, my character has a sister with a husband and she’s hosted dinner events and things like that which have been fun to participate in. If done right, relationship roleplay can be very enhancing. Alternatively, though, you get your crazies who might take things a little too OOC, so, as previously stated, boundaries are essential and both parties should be aware of each other’s comfort levels. I want to also add that I play an incredibly lusty and pleasure-driven character, and it is very easy to play her correctly without any form of ERP being involved. Sexual/romantic roleplay is never a necessity.
