  1. Short Description: Most RP servers far and wide have flavor text/description commands that are put in place for players to detail in brief what their character looks like, sounds, etc. Criminal RPs take advantage of this by choosing to not describe their characters. Detailed Description: I know personally speaking to people who have been long-time community members, to admins have expressed their disapproval over players not having descriptions. It's not entirely a needed component to RP but it allows your character to be an individual to others. Non-Criminal RPers don't see much of an issue to this, sometimes they have joke descriptions. But having a description doesn't necessitate that you are a criminal. However criminal RPers can take advantage of this easily. Dressing up in all black or an extremely generic colored outfit and masking up without a description can very easily allow you to commit crimes and get away with them. I find this as slight vergence into powergaming and well just bad RP in general. Not everyone is going to look, sound, and act all the same. People have been easily captured IRL due them being a specific height, they have a limp when they run, or some other crucial feature. Most criminal players I've seen on the server(often are made up of groups of friends who going to be actively using discord or similar) roll around with no descriptions. How will this improve the server: I fully believe that if there is an enforced description policy for all players to come up with a basic description, it could promote healthier RP. Criminal players would now have to effectively RP smarter to avoid getting caught. As it stands my experience and witnessing groups of not-descript people robbing/murdering are often people RP poorly and are mainly here to cause some grief. As well it will help newer RPers or people to the server to make their character stand out more.

  2. If I told somebody that I wanted to sell guns for $100K they gave me the money $100K (since I can't scam 100K) I RPed throws the rest of $25K to them and run away... so technically the amount of money I get from scamming is $75K and not $100K how's that?

  3. The Backwoods Crew Founded in the heart of Blaine County, the crew is a loosely organized crime group. It follows a family structure, built on respect and seniority. The group is loosely founded on Southern ideals, a lust for money, and something to cling to as their way of life slowly goes extinct due to technological advancements. The group, mainly comprised of locals and people who made their way up from Southern states, are involved in anything they would expect to be able to make a dollar from. They’re only limited by their own conscience, or that of their brothers who might keep them in check, which means atrocious crimes could potentially be life threatening to a member. The crew has previously been involved in small time arms dealing, drug dealing and white collar crime. A few leading figures have also been known to have served extended jail time, however most members have managed to fly under the radar so far. They are thought to be unaligned with any prison gangs. While operating out of Sandy Shores, the local area has seen an unexpected rise in violent crime, drug abuse and breaking and enterings. The last is believed to be in direct connection to the rising drug problem in the small town. The crime is not limited to Sandy Shores however, a rise in criminal activity have been reported all over Blaine County, including Paleto Bay and Grapeseed. The organization is known to primarily consist of men, but women are not shunned from participating in crime. They are, however, usually expected to work into their own niche of crimes, and not normally get involved with the more violent branch of the group. Known to be hardworking men and women holding normal jobs, they easily blend in amongst the locals. Many of them sport southern pride tattoos, and enjoy listening to country, rock music, and working on their pickup trucks and old muscle cars. This can make it hard to identify a crook from a civilian when roaming Blaine County. OOC Recruitment is to be handled in-game. Should you wish to join, but are having difficulties figuring out how to approach or roleplay a person from the sticks, or if you have questions about the vast possibilities the roleplay offers you, feel free to shoot me a PM or contact me on Discord at Moe#3686. We expect you to roleplay at all times, and keep yourself to a high standard while minimizing the OOC chatter. You’re expected to separate IC and OOC, as well as to stay out of voice channels during RP. It is heavily frowned upon, and will usually will lower the RP quality you provide. You might risk expulsion from the faction, as well as a blacklist if we have any reason to believe you are mixing.

  4. White Supremacist Gangs Politically Motivated, or Just Organized Crime? Ryan D Price White supremacist prison gangs aren’t news. Neither are, especially when you take into consideration the current gangland climate here in Los Santos, white supremacist gangs outside of prison. But what constitutes a white supremacist gang? Are all of them neo-Nazis? Are these gangs even motivated by racial and political hatred? One side of the debate would say yes. That their constant “We’re not even Nazis!” claims are bogus and meant to mislead the public. Others would say it doesn’t matter - they hate minorities and other groups, and they’re violent. That’s that. Others - including some folks involved in these gangs themselves - would say that Naziism and even white supremacy has little to do with their goals and activities. In an earlier piece, Sakana Sushi owner Akari told Saints News that, “I haven't personally seen them do anything outwardly racially motivated. I can't really speak for other people, but they never said anything to me or any of my staff. I think they're just using it as an excuse to be aggressive and antisocial towards everyone.” There are plenty of gangs with no pretence of political or racist ideology backing up their activities. So what gives with white supremacist gangs? To figure this out, a bit of a history lesson is needed. Who are they? According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Aryan Brotherhood - perhaps the most prevalent white supremacist/neo-Nazi gang both in and outside of prisons around the country - “...participates in drug trafficking, male prostitution rings, gambling, and extortion inside prison walls. On the streets, the AB is involved in practically every kind of criminal enterprise, including murder-for-hire, armed robbery, gun running, methamphetamine manufacturing, heroin sales, counterfeiting and identity theft.” In a National Geographic piece exploring the gang in 2007, a former AB member said, “It’s a criminal organization. We need to be clear on that. Is there racism? You bet there’s racism. Is it dominant? No.” Meanwhile, another former high-ranking member stated in 2012; “If blacks attack whites, we send a message. We go pick one of their shot callers. We catch them walking across the [prison] yard under guard escort in handcuffs. It don’t matter. We’re going to butcher him in front of God and everybody at high noon in the middle of the yard. And it’s not just going to be a few clean stab marks. It’s going to be a vicious, brutal killing.” So the divide seems to be both metaphorical and literal between prison walls. Inside, the AB is focused on “protecting” white inmates from other minority prison gangs. The white supremacist ideology binds the gang and further’s their most basic purpose. Like all criminal organizations - on the streets or in prison - over time this goal becomes warped as other criminal opportunities present themselves. We’re not trying to examine, at least not in too in-depth of a manner, the prison gang aspect of the Aryan Brotherhood, or really trying to just focus on the AB exclusively. The issue here, in Los Santos, is the prevalence of white supremacist street gangs outside of prison. White Supremacist Gangs and Their Violence in Los Santos A source spoke recently to Saints News of a group of white supremacist gang members working out of Vespucci that seem to have fallen off the map. Their run-ins with them never degraded into actual violence, but threats were made both directly and indirectly. “I haven't seen them in months. I've got a solid reason to believe that they, at one point, were hunting for me. I just didn't want them to know I knew, so I kept quiet about it until I got it sorted. Never did get it sorted. They just vanished.” This matches with the incident Akari discussed regarding the “new” group of white supremacist criminals - allegedly a Motorcycle Club that calls themselves the “Hellhounds”. Saints News spoke to other people in the community to see if they’d experienced similar treatment. Another source told Saints News that when their boss at a popular nightlife location asked a group of gang members with “eighty-eight” tattoos to leave, things got tense inside the club. The group accused the owner and security staff of being racist against white people. Upon exiting the venue, the group stayed posted up outside - across the road. Though it’s unknown what triggered the incident, shots were fired outside the venue and LSPD was called to respond. As mentioned in a previous piece, this same group became violent when asked to leave Sakana Sushi. Ramming the business’ owner Akari down a flight of stairs and throwing one of her waitresses down the same flight - cracking her head and breaking her ankle. Finally is the account of our final source. This incident took place a while back and was perpetrated by, allegedly, the Vespucci group referenced earlier. The source was working security outside of a nightclub and, under instruction from the venue’s owner, barred a group of individuals with white supremacist tattoos from entry. The group became agitated quickly but left. Just a short time later, however, one of the group’s members drove back to the club and shot the security officer. The guard was sent to the hospital and has luckily made a full recovery. I also spoke to a professional criminologist about white supremacist gangs as part of the research leading up to this piece. On the topic of whether or not these groups are racially and politically motivated, he said they are not - rather that they use far-right and racist rhetoric to pull in disaffected young people, providing a sense of unity and belonging. He went on to say that truly racially and politically motivated neo-Nazi groups are almost always reactionary, pointing out how many young white men have drifted toward “alt-right” and even neo-Nazi sensibilities as the United States and the West at large becomes more diverse and socially progressive. These politically motivated folks though, do not make up the rank and file of white supremacist street gangs, who are more - like other street gangs - motivated by power and money than any social agenda. Conclusion Sadly, attempts to seek out and speak to a member of one of these gangs - anonymously or not - proved fruitless. With the only evidence to go off of being the accounts of those who’ve fallen victim to their violence and the expertise of someone who’s studied the subject professionally, it’s hard to say what goals these groups - past and present - have beyond those of other street gangs, if any. There aren’t any well-publicized incidents of racially motivated violence coming from any of these groups in Los Santos. However, there are plenty of examples of violence nonetheless. Racially motivated or not, these white-supremacist gangs are both an eyesore for the community and another fraction of the large list of reasons Los Santos can be so dangerous. 6. The biggest threat you've got is a speeding car or a teenager with acid? Don't insult us like that. Please don't try and assume what the met boys and girls get up to in their daily activities at work if you have literally zero clue what it's like. I've got stories of coppers getting stabbed for no other reason than walking down the road in a coppers uniform. I couldn't even begin to tell you about some of the risks that coppers over here have faced. I get the point you're trying to make but don't belittle the risks faced over here to get to it.

  7. In addition to my previous question (don't worry, you can answer it separately) I'm curious as to why people are demoted from an In Character rank for Out Of Character behavior. For example I could've messed up on an OOC note by metagaming in a situation and therefore I'd lose my position from Police Officer III right down to Police Officer II. Is this not metagame? In illegal roleplay terms, players are usually just removed from an efficiently ran faction if they do not make the cut rather than retaining them just for a +1. It seems like a value from Los Santos Roleplay has stuck and I've always wondered why that was a thing in the first place. My suggestion would be to operate a strike system from an OOC point of view in your faction. If a player in your faction breaks the server or the faction's rules, give them a strike. Three strikes and you're out. I don't believe the correct way to administer a disciplinary action would be to metagame and remove or alter somebody's position within the faction - something that they earned strictly In Character. If you wish for people to begin taking the department more seriously, I would advise on making small steps like the above. A rank should never be regarded as an OOC achievement or an asset to that person, so to speak. That rank should only matter to their character, otherwise you're going to get a bunch of people caring more about their OOC rank (which some do) than their character's actual IC achievements. I for one particularly hated it in a previous server where a pre-pubescent teenager would drag me into their Teamspeak channel to tell me off like they're my parents and I've just been suspended from school. It reminds me much akin to Garry's Mod roleplay servers and it's actually quite cringe-worthy.

  8. I heavily support the idea. However, an "AFK" notification should only be valid for ten minutes, as one shouldn't be AFK out in the open any longer than that.

  11. I hate that there's only The Lost version of Slamvan in the game and the other one is Tow Truck like seriously this Slamvan is a must to be in this server, it's dope. Make it the same price as The Lost or lower than The Lost with 65KG or 40KG capacity.

  12. Well, it's a must for me... these simple cars need to be implemented... I mean why put The Lost version one when there's no civilian version one? it's odd The same as bobcat XL, for some reason they put only the other version of it instead of the pickup version.

  14. Meeh... for me, every action that can be seen clearly such as : punching someone, taking out a gun, etc. you can just take it IC without /me, why? because even if it's punching and "no time to react" it's kind of how life work, if you react quick enough after noticing someone is punching u, you can just avoid it by yourself. idk tho, I'm new here, I'm from a totally different roleplay server in FiveM until my game decides to break itself.
