  1. This thread is pointless. People need to be more comfortable making reports, not less. Admins are perfectly capable of determining when a report is being made in bad faith and acting accordingly, so the system sorts itself without the need to try and influence people against making reports.
  2. Absolutely +1 There is a compromise to be reached with the EU and US communities, and i think 2 hours or so is a good one
  3. This is a fantastic idea, and the people who are crying at the very suggestion of it are saying more about themselves than anything else. +1! Edit: This should apply heavily to vehicles like OP said, but should just as heavily apply to guns.
  4. Username: SAndrea Comment: "I have received compliments on my work by many VIPs that being politicians, law enforcement officials, judges, lawyers.. and now you, some random, trying to criticise?" Imagine typing this out, rereading it, and coming to the conclusion that this is what you want to say to the world as a "journalist".
  5. I've seen this kind of behavior a lot over the years and it seems to kinda be the default now. Rules lawyering is very prevalent to the point that people seem to adhere to a sort of meta with the rules. I see a lot of people operating in a play2win manner that doesn't just focus on achieving more gains for their characters, but to actively degrade and inconvenience the people behind the keyboard playing other characters. On top of that, I just see a lot of blurring between what's IC and OOC with people taking their faction or "gang" affiliations to the extreme to the point that they behave toward each other ooc'ly as opponents competing for who really knows what - be it clout, script cash, etc. I'm not trying to paint this as if play2win mindsets and ooc toxicity haven't been present forever. They're endemic to communities that rely on collaboration and good-faith to function properly. I do see, however, a normalization of it here on GTAW that I do not see in other communities and remember not seeing here before.
  6. Okay, then punish people who make blatantly petty reports for non-issues. I couldn't agree more that there's just too much reporting, but people should be held accountable for their rules lawyering and drama mongering just as they would be for doing anything else that harms the server's culture.
  7. Rules are never going to matter if punishments aren't meaningful. You have multiple former staff members saying this is the issue, as well as large swaths of the community. Enforcing the rules is how you establish and maintain standards. It has to be clear, or this problem will never be addressed. As many have said in this and other threads, the types of criminal role players who engage in frequent, low-quality robbery RP are not the types of people who participate in discussion threads on the forums. The way to protect the server against those types is to make sure that when rules are broken the punishment is meaningful enough to either bring them up to standard or drive them away.
  8. Massive +1, though I doubt this is ever implemented. While I understand that it is a driver for server revenue, and I do not believe that's a bad thing as I know there are costs associated with keeping the lights on, I do find it frustrating that I need to get an expensive package just to run my in-game business effectively. Opening the business and adding instructions for people to find the place via /gps doesn't work in my experience - the blip is pretty much mandatory. Having more people able to easily obtain the ability to use the blip would be good imo. The reality of the situation is that it's a major driver of the money the server needs to stay viable. If there's a way to make this particular perk cheaper, I'd 100% support it though.
  9. Username: MYumi Comment (reply): Sanity is not a feature of the GOP or its natural state. This is a silly idea that people always invoke when right wingers show their true colors. This is what they believe! We must be aware of this and understand this if we wish to make progress for the groups that fall victim to their hate. 😕
