Legalized in your face prostitution is stupid for roleplay. No reputable ad company (which is what /ad is supposed to be, right?) with the kind of scale it has would be running advertisement for local hookers. If you want to advertise "online", it should be in the internet forum section. I agree keep it in character, but there is no one to hold accountable for publishing the ads in this circumstance. You can claim you should go after the prostitutes directly, but in reality, these advertisements would never be aired. There is zero risk associated with this crime.

I do get it, you seem to be missing the entire point. There is no housing economy with a capped market with money being as inflated as it is. It is objectively worse for there to be no housing market, than it is to have an inflated housing market where houses are potentially for sale. I don't know how to say it any clearer.

How are new players not locked out of buying a house if they never move from the first people to purchase them? The only time that happens is if someone goes inactive, and then it's a race to the house to see who can purchase it first. You're arguing for something that has the exact same issue you're complaining about.

When the other choice is houses never being bought or sold? Yes, without a doubt.

Not being able to obtain a house = not being able to obtain a house. If price control is causing there to be no market for housing because the money is worth less than the property, then price control doesn't work.

The entire point of this thread is that nobody can get a house unless they already have a house, which is the opposite of what you're saying.

Money is worthless, and property sell prices are capped.

I agree in theory, but this is an extremely minor problem relative to the huge problems the economy already has. I'm hoping that the announced overhaul will be fixing all of this.

Traffic cameras are a terrible idea, please never implement that.

I think this would be a great addition as long as it's fluid and doesn't feel buggy when it happens.

Where is everyone hanging out that they're constantly being robbed? I walk everywhere, mostly alone, and rarely do I even get bothered. If anything I feel like there isn't enough incentive to commit crime, outside of just wanting to do it for character development reasons. It seems like most roleplay is centered around hopping between open businesses and socializing.

I can definitely get behind this idea.

People would be more willing to roleplay lower class if it wasn't harder to be poor than it is to be rich. We all agree that roleplay is the most important thing, but in the end the game requires some kind of progression that helps promote the roleplay. If that wasn't true, there'd be no reason to even have an economy or not give people everything they want when they create their character story. Having nothing to strive for in game kills the incentive to do things outside of socializing with friends. It's an unfortunate side effect of (what I feel is at least) a lopsided balance between needing to "grind" and roleplaying. I've always felt like making money is a big part of how your character progresses, just like in real life. When it comes too easy, there is less progression to be made, less story to write.

I look at it the opposite way. I feel like everyone is so rich that there is no point in being a criminal outside just wanting to roleplay the part. Everyone has everything they want, you can't be poor, and scarcity of businesses and houses is due to OOC reasons. I would personally like to see money scaled back a ton with the eventual economy update.
