Short description: Cut the wage from script jobs from $4000 to maybe $2000 Detailed description: The wage from script jobs essentially acts as a minimum wage, which means that civilian job purveyors seldom can offer less than that and still attract players. This is why you have crowded bars with just 1 bartender, this is why cocktail waitresses don't exist. It's why janitorial companies don't really thrive that much. It's why your car washes don't have even 1 attendant. There isn't any trace of precarious jobs, no real "gig economy" and few opportunities to portray a low wage worker; partly because of the stupidly high script wages. In real life United States, the federal minimum wage will not allow anyone to comfortably pay rent AND invest any money in fancy or even decent cars, let alone hobbies or clothes. Local minimum wages are rarely much better. This helps illegal roleplayers too. The number 1 driver for antisocial and criminal behavior is low income. People become drug addicts to escape the dread of rent payments. Unions can also have an actual political reason to exist too. This doesn't make things any harder for new players, since they still get 200,000 dollars just for existing, which is enough to roleplay pretty much anything you want. It would open the job market for civilian roleplayers, and disincentivize stupid character concepts that involve grinding several jobs for no compelling IC reason. Like some characters in GTAW, I have worked 2+ full time jobs at the same time; I've never seen any player properly portray how dead inside you become. Additional information: i think removing unemployment checks would be cool too
