This is because currently any development on the framework that's build in PHP is just a matter of postponing the problems with fixes. A fix for this problem is to rebuild the complete back-end structure in order to have a solid base to continue on. Stepping over to a framework like Laravel that gets updated and maintained occasionally is way more future proof and will ensure new updates are easier to deploy. Making a whole new platform is most likely one of the best options here. You just have to find a developer that's up for the task for something this big. + 1 on the idea.

Adding onto the idea of a banking interface. You could start tracking withdrawals, deposits. Having an actual card that you could use in businesses. With the new faction hoping to come up soon that will keep tabs on people finance it'll have a way more realistic aspect of financial role-play. Banker, accountant role-play. Crooked accountants that are able to launder dirty money through the books for illegal rp'ers. Endless possibilities for Legal and Illegal role players.
