Having worked with LSNN quite a long time ago, I have my own views about whether, during my time there, LSNN and LSFD were too closely aligned. I really do respect and like LSFD - they have so many wonderful, selfless, and hard working people - but I do know on one occasion that relationships were used to exert pressure on LSNN Editorial to withdraw a political story. To their credit, my Editors refused to withdraw despite that pressure. But the question was whether the relationship was such that it put LSNN in a position that it should not have been in. Of course, times have moved on and there is new editorial at LSNN, so my comment does not apply to them. And there are better places to find "evidence" (not that I necessarily agree this gets you over the bar):

  4. 1. In my first hour on the server - robbed (at night). 2. Kidnapped, robbed and stabbed walking out of a car dealership in Paleto Bay (during the day). 3. Kidnapped and robbed walking in Paleto Bay (at night). 4. Ran from someone trying to kidnap my character in Sandy Shores (at night, but very early evening). 5. Stopped running down at Vespucci because gang members down there kept trailing my character, cat calling, and getting hostile when she tried to ignore them (really didn't matter what time of day). 6. My friend and I were assaulted in Vespucci because he's a gay character (during the day). 7. My friend had to kill two guys in Vespucci who followed him and threatened him with a knife in a carpark (during the day). 8. My friend had to kill a guy and seriously wound the other because they jumped him near the Chumash convenience store (during the day). "Exaggerated"? What game are you playing? The homophobia and sexism portrayed in the game is remarkable for how open and publicly portrayed that it is. Characters will stop walking places if they don't feel safe - for example, my character no longer runs at Vespucci.
  5. Coco? Is that you? Hi, Lexi! ❤️
  6. This is a great guide overall, and this section has helped me to at least know where to start researching what my character would need for her 4x4 vehicle. Thank you.
  7. I understand. This is not something I do. Face tattoos? "Whuttup shawty?" "Digits?" "Where is owner of business?" N will interact with these people, but she's simply playing the odds based on her time working in Davis and other experiences. I suspect there's a few other civilian characters playing those very same odds.
  8. That's a good definition. But let's also apply it in the context of something you said earlier, and also from one civilian roleplayer's perspective. Because "natural" goes both ways. Earlier you said you wished that more civilians would RP with illegal RPers. I agree with that. But, since our characters are meant to develop and learn, the experiences our characters have will determine their subsequent behaviour. My question to you is this: why would a civilian character easily interact with the very same type of character who they've been robbed by multiple times in the past, or have witnessed entering clubs/bars/cafes/everywhere and engaging in random violence? It's a bit like not walking into a dark alleyway. You've assumed that a lot of civilian RPers don't readily interact with criminal RPers because we want to "control" our RP experience. The exact opposite is true - we roleplay with plenty of characters we OOC know are criminals, and those interactions develop over time. We just don't easily interact with an obvious type of criminal. When we do, we keep it light and at a surface level, because that makes narrative sense. I'm not sure if I stated that exactly as I mean, it but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
  9. Thanks to the people who replied to my question - I didn't know about the three strikes approach. But I did know that IFM does get rid of bad illegal factions, I've seen it happen a few times. The very simple point I was making about impact was that illegal RPers really do have the upper hand against a person who isn't playing a gun owning Jane Wick type character. It's about domination of RP and game experience, I've experienced one situation in this game where the actions of one illegal RPer took over my game-play for about two weeks, even having people in his faction RPly (not OOCly at all, which is nice) go out of their way to threaten, harass, follow, and abuse my character in the street. Sure he and they might think this is valid (and even fun) RP, and from a GTAW perspective, it is. But the actions were basically things that would get people banned from any other game - please do not take that as me saying he or they should have been banned from the server (Wow, I can't believe I even have to say that part in bold, but I'm sure someone will misinterpret what I'm actually saying here!) But it wasn't fun for me. It consumed my RP and meant that my plans were on hold until I took my own (legal, because that's what my character is) steps to fight back...and then someone ultimately dealt with the situation for me. That's what I'm talking about. That's the kind of impact an illegal faction can have on someone RPing going about minding their own business. And yes, legal players can also impact similarly on RP, it's just my experience so far has been illegal factions doing it. Including on smaller scales than the example I mentioned above. I'll add, also because people want to misinterpret everything, I know this doesn't represent every illegal faction.
  10. I'm not going to engage in the debate I'm seeing here, I've RPd with excellent criminal RPers and not so good ones - some of the not so good ones are now banned from the server, so maybe there's something to that. But, your comment stood out to me. I know you can't give out names, but for people like me who only RP civilian characters, I'm really interested to know how this works. Are punishments handed out? How widely are issues discussed - by this I mean is it limited to specific incidents, or are there themes discussed and agreed on? For example, I've seen less South City RPers coming to Sandy and Harmony trying to rob people than there were a couple of months ago, might this be a type of topic that could be discussed? Does RPQM get involved in the discussions? Some people have said this before, but I'll reiterate it: if I meet up with a poor civilian RPer, I can just move away and leave them to their thing. But if I meet a poor illegal RPer, there's a chance my RP experience is about to be impacted in some way, probably negatively. I just think it would be nice to know, with that in mind, what IFM and the faction leaders talk about. Thank you.
  11. Username: Animal Ark Gang Comment: This is a really well written article, by the way! The author quite obviously took the time to properly research and consider the law and the problems now being experienced in the area.
  12. Username: Animal Ark Gang Comment: Animal Ark is currently caring for a female fawn and male coyote pup; both were rescued by Dr. McKay and brought in by him to the clinic. Both had serious gunshot wounds and required surgical intervention. We really look forward to continuing our relationship with Dr. McKay. Good luck to all the ethical hunters. And for the small minority of unethical ones please, before you next hunt, understand the impact that a careless action can have on a living creature.

  15. Okay, so I won't lie and say that I'm much of a fan of the new menu/UI for clothing stores - mainly because the current lag is killing it for a few of us during peak hours - but I'm going to give two positives to the developers, that I think should be highlighted: 1. The button that lets me make my character stretch so that I can check that the torso is right, is just a great idea. Yes, I know I could already /anim for this, but a button I can click on, that is in the torso part of the menu already, is just an excellent little convenience. 2. I now no longer so easily mistakenly overwrite my old outfit with a new one by forgetting - as I would on the old UI - to select the outfit slot first, instead of hitting the purchase new outfit option first by accident. I did this so many times and I wonder how much time and in game currency I spent fixing my mistakes. So, thank you for those two great new additions.
  16. The game is effectively unplayable right now.
