  1. Banner ads and pop-ups on alcohol related searches would occasionally display the following image. ((Contact information is purposefully lacking.))
  2. I do it because I roleplay someone who has a strong distrust from the government but also try to do it in a way that makes it seem silly/nonsensical which shows my characters lack of tech understanding. Tends to comment with the same name as his personal email totally negating the point of using the VPN in the first place. I do agree that it's overused though, you'd need to make a pretty heinous comment to catch the governments attention.
  3. +SUPPORT Nothing but upsides to this one.
  4. WEBSITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION ((Everything below this point is only visible to those with Administrative rights on the website.))
  5. I appreciate you trying to dumb it down for us that haven't entered the realm of that RP at all, and things like 'little homie' could easily be misconstrued so I appreciate you going further into it and adding clarification for us that would otherwise not know better. (Nor should we* (*Your average civilian) be expected to, quite honestly.)
  6. Whey hey! Glad one of us is capable of reasonable conversation! E: Had a pleasant exchange of PMS, and we cleared our misunderstanding!
  7. Cheers, I won't delete my post because that leaves even more egg on my face, legitimately didn't catch and and have no problem with being corrected ?
  8. Hey man, absolutely no ill will, thank you for pointing that part out to me ? Wasn't there when I first looked at the report and I didn't catch it when I glanced over it before responding. No bad manners intended.
  9. What I would like to see overall from Gang roleplayers and people interacting with gangs is a margin of error where both parties could agree that the roleplay did not go down the way it was intended which leads to some unintended consequences for players OOC'ly. I'm sure there are /MANY/ scenarios where if they could void government involvement (Cops rolling up to a scene early) to better re-roleplay the scenario (because maybe a user didn't know how to /giveitem or wasn't sure the rules of a robbery and wanted to make sure everything was within limits before handing over their cash etc etc) that many users would prefer the slight inconvenience of a void to fully realize the potential of a roleplay. All in all I would like to see /ALL/ users, not just gang related, offer more compassion and understanding to the person playing the character. Wether it be from robberies not going the way people intended to Civs rudely leaving establishments after not being /IMMEDIATELY/ served. A bit more leniency of Common Courtesy across all users would go a very long way.
  10. Can you point to the part in the report that says the retracted? Because it isn't there. I see them saying that "We're not looking for punishment, we're just seeking that admins verify that there was reasonable excuse for them to act the way they did." which from the very limited view we have is quite frankly laughably abhorrent. Gunning down four sets of officers in broad daylight... the report is quite reasonably justified because without serious backup there is no reasonable outcome other than DM. Please please point out where in the report it says they retracted because AFAIK that does not exist and it would be an incredibly weird thing to lie about considering how public the information is. E: Thank you for pointing it out!
  11. +Support, CCTV is currently less than worthless as currently it serves only to confuse people and cause hubbub when people misuse it because of the confusion that surrounds it. I can understand needing the appropriate two-party consent for public interactions but I see absolutely no reason why a business should have to seek someones 'permission' to record them and it's completely ass backwards and defeats the point of them almost entirely. Also, no* CCTV in the world comes in HD 4k full color so the idea of using recording software/shadowplay to act as CCTV STILL doesn't close Power/Metagaming windows. The feature and the documentation that surrounds it is wholly insufficient and needs updating and changes. *high capacity, it's all grainy black and white footage for storage related reasons.
  12. This doesn't get my support because AFAIK that's already a violation of Common Courtesy and realistic portrayal and thus is already disallowed. I do not believe it needs to be any stricter than it already is.
  13. Maybe I've missed the function but can we please get the ability to post as a page you are an Admin/Superadmin for? I've had to create a second account to respond to comments as my business and would much prefer the ability to instead change who I am posting as. That being said though the website itself is working wonderfully!
  14. The main reason I use /would/ in my /me's, even unnecessarily is that it allows my actions to be conveyed without being 'set in stone' so to speak. /me would move towards the exit. and /me moves towards the exit. for example, while you can still definitely stop me from moving towards the exit, the top prompt is definitely more inviting of roleplay than the bottom. I don't look at it much differently than "Yes and" in Drama where you are always meant to "Yes and" the other person but in this case your "Yes and" is a natural invitation for someone to interject without feeling as if they are doing so in a disruptive manner. Moves towards the exit sounds like a definitive (which it of course is), as in it's being used to punctuate something and is not meant to be responded to it is simply meant to be read. Would move towards the exit implies that there is a window of opportunity for someone to interact with the action I wish to take. That being said I hadn't considered it being an issue of mixing third/first person as most people still correctly use it in third person.
  15. I mean, they're right. A ricer is someone who extensively and unnecessarily modifies their car to pretend they live in the Fast and Furious movies. (because why else would you try and turn a Dodge Neon into an aborted rally car?)
  16. Shameless self promotion because I would love to see more Passive RP opportunities around Blaine and Farming is easily the one I'd like to see the most.
  17. Short description: Re-enable the Rye recipe and tweak it to require Grain from the Farming job to brew. Detailed description: I see no reason why the Rye recipe should be disabled. When I first started at the /brewery job I was confused as to why that recipe was missing/inaccessible. As Rye is a grain based alcohol I believe we should re-enable the recipe and change its recipe to require Grain from the Farming job as it is will provide a few new avenues for Brewery and Distillery establishments as well as provide a whole new realm of RP as a whole in Player-to-Player Farming. Currently Farming is a script-only grind with little interactive value so giving Grain an additional value outside of the /sellgrain value at the wholesaler will allow players to create new jobs and experiences. Commands to add: N/A Items to add: Rye, Rye Recipe How would your suggestion improve the server? Currently there are very few active/passive RP opportunities like Farmer, Fisherman and the like as there is no intrinsic value to the items you gain from those jobs aside from the monetary gain at the wholesaler. This will provide people who wish to RP as a Farmer with more variation to their daily routines and will allow a break from the repetitive nature of the script job itself. Additional information: N/A
  18. Personally I think 5 days is too restrictive unless you have a very large and active faction. Offshoot factions with larger community focused goals, like churches for example, should be allowed to develop at a slower pace as naturally I believe the meaningful interactions they have that are worthy of showcasing can be further between, and the smaller day-to-day interactions tend to be better suited for personal character development rather than the development of the faction. Simply having screenies doing a drug deal and meeting up with your boss once every five days just for the sake of forum activity does not seem conducive to the depth of roleplay the server seeks to achieve. Especially as their interactions are more likely to be in other various OOC/IC avenues such as advertising on the IC section of forums. I think this is a multifacted problem that does not have one distinct answer, but I do also think there is room for change. Perhaps have a distinction between Active RP factions (such as gangs, and MCs.) vs Passive RP factions (such as non-gang/unaffiliated churches, Workers Unions etc..)?
  19. I agree, which is why I said in my other post that these script limitations and the knowledge of them plays into interactions, it's not a comment towards your statements or anything, to be clear.
  20. No no, don't get me wrong I agree that two swings to down someone is a bit much but also that being in the 'downed' state shouldn't be met with such a force in this scenario mainly because if someone were to try and "finish the job" so to speak it would be incredibly poor portrayal and isn't really an IC issue at that point (Can't speak to the scenario in specific as was not there but I'd imagine it highly unrealistic for someone to try and kill a downed officer with a melee weapon if other officers are in such a proximity where they could've responded in the way they did), but getting downed shouldn't be the end of the world especially for such a large presence of Emerg. One cop being "knocked unconcious" should still be met with a taser, the shooting was not justified (but still, again, unfortunately realistic.) The Cop was not in such a risk of dying to necessitate such an immediate use of force. Even knife wielding lunatics should not be shot, that is the point I'm attempting to make. If they (the offenders, not the Emerg.) fail to roleplay tasers that is not an IC issue.
  21. Forgive my ignorance as I am not a veteran, but I feel like going into a downed state isn't as deadly as the death state so someone would need to swing upon the downed body and at that point it would be poor portrayal, a taser response would've been more appropriate but I as well will concede that actions will be made in the heat of the moment and when dealing with the limitations of scripts there are going to be a lot of assumptions at play on both sides that will alter their decisions. That being said it seemed like a great large scale event that the server could benefit from more of and this one was a valuable learning experience for both players and staff/Emergency Services and hopefully it will be highlighted and used positively.
