  1. There haven't been any proper proposals at all. Only suggestions to adjust specific issues, none of which take the grand scheme into account. This basically pointless because that just leads to problems elsewhere. A complete reset is possible, though I can already tell you it is exceptionally unlikely to happen within the next few years. Even then, whats the point of a reset if you have no comprehensive plan to actually make changes? You'll just have the same problems all over again.
  2. A lot of things are offensive, but we're talking about IC actions here. You'll find that things like 'murder' being bad isn't a niche leftie position either. Yet, because we can all realize that this concerns fiction/storytelling/roleplaying, ordinary standards do not apply. Maybe you really really hate nazis IRL. Another person might really really hate gangs IRL because of some bad experience they had IRL. So should we just ban them both because you're mad at fictional portrayals? You do realize that Nazis are fictionalized pretty often, I hope. Basically any movie, book, comic, etc about World War 2 will refer to Nazism and their symbols. There's plenty about neo-nazis as well. You're welcome to cringe at those too, but does that really help us here? When you join the server, you're entering into the common agreement that we roleplay, and that we keep our personal feelings separate.
  3. People keep repeating this, but none of them offer a sliver of a solution for to the supposed problems with the economy. You can't just fix the economy. All you're doing is providing a brief glance at how you want a specific outcome of GTAW's economic system to look like, without looking at the entire picture. That's not a solution, its just fantasy.
  4. Where would you draw the line when banning roleplay that you find too offensive? Other people will find other things too offensive. Are we going to listen to all those people as well? What roleplay will be left once we banned everything that any random internet person finds offensive? The lines as they are drawn now are not perfect, in my view, but they're not unacceptable either. So why not just deal with it? After all, its only IC right? If you're suspecting that someone is self inserting or gives off hints of showing hatred OOCly, then we already have rules for this in place. Just report them.

    ISPs and you

My initial reaction to these concepts is always positive. Niche businesses should be supported and encouraged. When it comes to interacting, for the average business, there are some concerns. We can ignore some of the more obvious concerns like, it doesnt actually do anything, or it costs money for little in return. When you're concerned with generating roleplay, those are trivial. But what follows is more complex; What roleplay is this going to generate in the long run, interaction wise? What initiates roleplay between your businesses and their clients, after the roleplay setup is done? Can you, or someone else, sustain this sort of roleplay with zero script support in the future?
  6. A forum section to support the development of these concepts would help a lot. Not just for factions only.
  7. Apparently this is possible, but no idea how.
  8. Happy to follow this as well. We have properly established that some people aren't interested, fine. Now we need solutions and actions.
  9. What point are you trying to make? You found a video where teenagers are aggressive, so now we have to conclude that this is the standard?
  10. FM still has the ability to push things into the wrong direction. This means, in the right direction as well.
  11. I think this is very important to highlight. This is an area-specific issue. There's a reason why a certain type of player slowly edges towards roleplaying outside of the city, because it doesn't feel too far detached from reality out there.
  12. Thanks for this. We can talk all day, but actions are whats needed.
  13. What difference does it make if the moderation is IC or OOC. It doesn't matter what you get as content. This seems like obfuscation of the issue.
  14. Isn't this an IC issue though? Why does it require an OOC response.
  15. FB is full of posts in categories that I personally, or my character(s), aren't interested in. Are they annoying? Yes. Do I care? Not really. Move on or report if they're breaking rules.
  16. The list already exists with Property Management though. I'm just looking for ways to lower the barriers of entry for business roleplay.
  17. Are they playing the exact same type of character or do they just have the same face settings? Could be that they just know this one preset that works, and... why change a good formula?
