  1. Feature Showcase - Los Santos County Sheriff & Jail Showcase Overview The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department faction, in conjunction with the DoJ, LSPD, Faction Management Team & Mapper Team are proud to announce a rejuvenation of the server's Criminal Justice dynamic with both criminals & Law Enforcement alike. The upcoming update brings forth a host of new changes regarding the Judicial System & Law Enforcement process. Criminal roleplayers within the server will now face physical penalties for their actions, as well as pre-trial detention depending on particular circumstances. Law Enforcement Officers will now have to in-process arrestees at the newly-mapped Los Santos County Jail, operated by the Sheriff's Department. Commands /releaseme - Exit the jail permanently after your time is up /jailtime - Check how long remains before you can be free'd /jrequest - Request a deputy if any is available, offline guards will be notified on Discord through an IC notification channel /cellinfo - Prints information about the cell /jevent - Report an event to the guards, for example : /jevent You would notice a body left in a blood pool in front of cell A001. Guards will receive the event on Discord to notify them OOCly about the event that they would discover ingame. /onduty - Check how many guards are online /jlockdown - Open / close all doors of the current interior you're inside (guards only) /assigncell - Change the cell of an inmate (guards only) /release - Releases an inmate (guards only) /checktime - Check how long an inmate is jailed for (guards only) /showwristband - Show your wristband information to another player /setjailstatus - Set a special status written on the prisoner's wristband (guards only) Jail time will decrease 3x faster if you actively roleplay (This current value is temporary and might be modified in the future) How Arrest Works Former System: Arrest > Temporary Detention at Police Headquarters > Potential Court Case or Release New System: Investigation > Warrant > Arrest(starts with arrest if 'on-view') > Booking at County Jail > Detention > Bond Hearing > Due Process > Release or Sentencing/Conviction Expected features of the jail The Los Santos County Jail will provide an interesting roleplay dynamic for both Government & Criminal Roleplay. The circumstances of the jail allow for criminal gangs to manifest within the incarceration system, as sentenced inmates will be assigned to the jail to interact with pre-trial detainees. Features in development include: Bond System - allowing inmates to place surety/collateral to bonding companies in exchange for release from the county jail, on grounds they may loose assets or finances if they do not show up for court. Commissary / 'Books' - this serves as a means of both sustenance and institutional currency for inmates within the county jail. [In development] Weapon features - inmates are able to fashion weapons from items they find or create, to include shanks. Booking - inmates will have their arrest record & incarceration status on-file with server Law Enforcement entities. Conviction / Sentencing - inmates facing sentences may be assigned to the county jail for long durations of time. 'Prison Gangs' - long term inmates may be able to create gangs 'within the walls'. Phone System - inmates will be able to place calls from the jail. [In development] Other features to come. Full album : https://imgur.com/a/zSH60EK Additional Information Judicial Faction Los Santos County Sheriff's Department Special thanks to the Mapping Team for the hours and hours of hard work that they have dedicated to this. Not only in building, but research, discussion and reworking when it became apparent mid-mapping that things were not going to work as the floor plans dictated. As a server we are lucky to have people who will selflessly give up their own time to provide interesting and immersive features, from the Mapping Team right up to the administration team, past and present, who have worked to make this project what it is. Looking forward to our next grouping of projects, and working to manage such an amazing group of people.

  2. Los Santos County Sheriff's Department From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia County of Los Santos Sheriff's Department Patch Badge of the LSSD's sheriff Flag Common name Los Santos County Sheriff's Department Abbreviation LSSD Motto "A Tradition of Service" Jurisdictional structure Operations jurisdiction Los Santos County, San Andreas, United States General nature Local civilian police Website www.lssd.org The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department (LSSD), officially the County of Los Santos Sheriff's Department, is a police force serving Los Santos County, San Andreas. LSSD is the largest sheriff's department in the United States and the fourth largest local police agency in the United States, following the Liberty City Police Department (LCPD), the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and the Los Santos municipal Police Department (LSPD). LSSD has approximately 18,000 employees, 9,915 sworn deputies and 9,244 unsworn members. The department's three main responsibilities are to provide municipal police services within Los Santos County, courthouse security for the Superior Court of Los Santos County, and housing and transportation services of inmates within the county jail system. The LSSD provides municipal police services to the unincorporated communities and 42 of the 88 cities within Los Santos County. In addition to its primary responsibilities, LSSD contracts with the Los Santos Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Metrolink, provides law enforcement services to ten community colleges, and patrols county parks, golf courses, special event venues, lakes, hospitals, and county facilities. LSSD provides services, such as crime laboratories, homicide investigations, and academy training, to smaller law enforcement agencies within the county and across the State of San Andreas. History The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department was established in 1850 shortly after the Mexican-American War. After the founding of the independent San Andreas Republic and the voluntary annexation by the United States, law enforcement was subsumed under the Los Santos Rangers (which became the Los Santos Police Department) and the Los Santos Sheriff. In the early 1900s, the Sheriff's Department officially became an actual institution of permanent individuals rather than the Sheriff and his posse. It was not until 1930 when deputies formally adopted uniforms and jails were administered by the Sheriff's Department. During the 1930s, the Sheriff's Department assisted the Los Santos Police Department in the "red squad" era, notably attacking the Socialist Party of America and breaking up union-organized events. In 1947, the Sheriff's Department hired the first female Deputy Sheriff within the nation. The 1950s to the 1970s saw the most turbulent era of operation within the Sheriff's Department, especially during the infamous 1961 Davis Race Riots. The Sheriff's Department assisted the LSPD in quelling the large-scale civil unrest, but it was one of the most massive events of the era up until the 1992 Jim Queen riots. Former Sheriff Peter "Pico" Collins headed the department from 2009 until his downfall in 2017. During Collins' reign corruption was rampant and close-knit deputy gangs were prominent. Within the ranks of the county's finest were individuals keen to oppress less fortunate individuals in the county jail system and rural towns. Following whistle-blower tips, an ACLU lawsuit brought down the Sheriff after the FBI took interest as part of their public corruption mandate. Pico and his Undersheriff were both sentenced to federal prison. Following a brief hiatus mandated by the Federal Department of Justice, Patrick Machado won the seat as Los Santos County Sheriff after a special election was held. Almost immediately after swearing into office, Sheriff Machado ordered the re-opening of the Twin Towers Los Santos County Jail to massively aid the growing overcrowding issue of the region's detention facilities. Misconduct Throughout the existence of the Davis Sheriff's Station, a multitude of controversies sprouted under the tenure of Sheriff Joseph Cline and Captain Damian Suarez. A variety of brutality, fraud, and deputy gang scandals tarnished the name of the sheriff's station, resulting in demonstrations occurring right outside the facility. One of which being the Davis City Council accusing the Department's executives of conning the City of Davis for contract hours, fabricating statistics about said hours being fulfilled. As a result of the riots on the 30th of July, 2022, a deputy at the Davis Sheriff's Station stepped forward to speak out about the alleged brutality claims found at the patrol station on the aforementioned date. Deputy Sarah Ostrowski went on a local news network, whistleblowing the fact that the station was institutionally corrupt, and permeated by violent deputy gangs. What stands out from this complaint is that it was all done by a deputy who worked at the station for over half a decade. Contract law enforcement The LSSD has entered into contracts with the numerous cities to serve as their police department/law enforcement agency. The Davis Police Department served the City of Davis and its unincorporated areas from 1906 up until the 14th of May, 1998. The Davis Police Department was disbanded by the Davis City Council as a result of the skyrocketing homicide rates that were left unattended paired with the significant controversies with local communities, multiple police brutality claims, and scandals involving the Department's executives. The premises of the old Davis Police Station was subsequently converted into a youth activities center in an attempt to combat the elevated homicide count conducted by minors. This center was in use prior to it shutting down in early 2000 due to the lack of funding for the program. Shortly thereafter on the 17th of September, 2000, the Davis City Council contracted with the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department to become the main municipal law enforcement agency for the City of Davis. The whopping 22 million dollars per annum paid by the City of Davis to the LS County Sheriff's is utilized in providing a variety of specialized teams and highly trained patrol deputies to serve Davis and its unincorporated areas. The Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station has been in use since 1958 when it was first founded to provide law enforcement services to the Los Santos County. Along with its substation in Sandy Shores, the station provides law enforcement services to a vast geographical area, including but not limited to: Paleto Bay, Mount Chiliad, Mount Gordo, Grapeseed, Raton Canyon, Sandy Shores, Grand Senora Desert, Harmony, Tongva Hills, Banham Canyon, North Chumash, Pacific Bluffs, Vinewood Hills, Richman, Del Perro, Rockford Hills, Vespucci, Little Seoul, Downtown LS, and Vinewood. Rank structure Title Insignia Sheriff Undersheriff Assistant Sheriff Division Chief Area Commander Captain Lieutenant Sergeant Deputy Sheriff (Master FTO) Deputy Sheriff Bonus I, Bonus II Deputy Sheriff Deputy Sheriff Trainee (Non-sworn) The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department is a faction based off of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, that seeks to emulate the often-overlooked facets of American Law Enforcement. The primary emphasis in membership with this faction is character development through realistic roleplay & portrayal, with a high standard to ensure quality retention.

  3. Short description: A simple description for your vehicle. Detailed description: The same way you examine a person (ex: /examine Luka) except it can be used on a vehicle via the license plate (ex: /examine LAK325). After the command, you would get a text description of that character, but for the vehicle instead. You can write out your description for your car. Example: - /vattributes The car's front headlights appear to be smashed in and no light coming from them, the car's windows are down and the inside would smell of weed. /examine LAK325 The car's front headlights appear to be smashed in and no light coming from them, the car's windows are down and the inside would smell of weed. - Commands to add: /vehicle attributes (or /vattributes) [description] /vattributes clear /examine [license plate number] (I am not saying that the commands have to be exactly what is listed, if you have a better idea than an license plate number for identifying a vehicle, then that's awesome! Maybe there would be some issues with the license plate number being the command with distance, but then again in my own opinion, you'd have to be close enough to the vehicle to see the details on it, though different details can be seen from further away, like you could tell that a car's headlights were out from quite far away, but not that there's a scratch on the door.) Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? I think this would help a lot with immersiveness without having to put a ton of coding and implementing (simple commands, copied from an already existing idea instead of attempting to perfectly sync vehicles or more complicated ideas/though I do think adding an license plate number thing might be more than "simple"). I have often wanted to RP in a better way, for example... While my character was out driving around on a rough road, she busted her headlights. A police car rolls by, but doesn't pull her over nor even go in for a "check", they cannot tell if the headlights are out or not unless the driver does a /do within that time, but with this addition, they could make the choice to "check" the car and then pull them over. I think it would encourage some interaction... Character driving around with busted front headlights, this would be in the vehicles description, the police car can get within reasonable distance and use the command (/examine [license plate]) and see that the lights were out and therefore turn on their sirens and start RP from there. I have also noticed many people who RP on GTAW enjoy vehicles, customizing them to their liking. They could use this to help make their vehicle more their "own", such as art or special paint jobs, maybe even adding "The exhaust sounds like a straight pipe". This could even add to mechanic RP. A person uses /attributes [character] with tattoos and then describes it even though it is not truly shown on their character. The same with a vehicle's paint could be described, it could also say if the windows were rolled up, cracked or fully down. If the vehicle is rusted or beautifully waxed. Additional information: This is quite hard for me to post, I am very shy, I post this with all due respect, I would love to hear all of your input and thoughts on this idea, thank you. Edit: Wow, I'm surprised at all the responses my idea has sparked and let alone those that are supporting it, never thought it would be looked at; at all, thank you to everyone. (Sadly, I haven't received any updates for my idea though.)

  6. Short description: Offer color variants for cats, fix cat animations Detailed description: Hi, hello! Currently, we have one color variant when it comes to cats, and the only thing it can do is follow you, stay where it is, or morph into Satan's spawn. My guess is that the wrong animation is set behind the command! ? There are not many emotes that can be implemented, but we probably can fix the broken "sit" command or perhaps add the following or at least, one of: Sleeping cat #1 (idle tail) Sleeping cat #2 (w/ tail swing!) Cat loaf!!! As you can see in this screenshot, there are three cat color variants available in the vanilla game. I am not sure if it's a rage limitation (as I only could find one cat ped on the list within Rage MP's wiki, but a developer might be more knowledgable and can indeed offer the color variants!) - but we can only spawn one of them on the server right now. Items to add: Replace/add cat animations within the "pet commands" box (seen in the detailed description part), add color variants for cats How would your suggestion improve the server? Perhaps not a significant impact, but options are lovely Additional information:

  7. Hi! This is my new character Kaylee Hill, an LSPD academy student that's recently moved back to Los Santos from her beloved Ludendorff. Trying to follow in her brothers, Anthony Hill, foot-steps as a Law Enforcement Officer - this will be her origin story and continue throughout her career/role-play life! Tried to aim for something a little different as I'm not great at writing super long paragraphs. Hope you like it! Just a minor thing, certain things will be cut out as I don't want to potentially leak any LSPD things that may be against the rules. Call-signs, ranks and sensitive information will -never- be part of this. So any call-sign you see has been made up for the sake of the story. Everything during her LSPD career will be true-to-life to the RP that happened (I work off of screenshots and such to recreate the role-play) but certain aspects will change to protect the LSPD documentations that are not available to non-officers. Hope you understand! And just to confirm, I am going for a super cheesy / Max Payne comic panel kinda vibe so please expect some super corny lines, lmao!

  18. Always glad to see more white factions, it's one of the most unique faction concepts out there that remains consistently demonized due to out of whack OOC perceptions.
