The criminal community threw an absolute tantrum over the idea. Now, keep in mind, this wasn't a blanket ban on ALL criminal activity for those three hours. Oh no, it was specifically just criminal activity against other characters/players. That was it. If you wanted to sell drugs? You could. If you wanted to move guns? Power to you. Stealing parked cars, breaking into homes, even posting up to guard your turf was a-okay. It was specifically three. measly. hours. that you had to wait before your new character could kill, or rob someone else. That's it. 

 

But, again, the criminal community couldn't stand that. People always talking about "tAkInG tHe L" insisted that any more rules were enforced against their criminal activities, the entire criminal community would leave GTAW.

 

What hurts most, is that it opened my eyes - these people couldn't wait even three hours without having to kill or rob someone. Three. Hours. They needed their fix of hunting down victims in a time frame shorter than three hours. It's no wonder the streets were almost completely empty of any civilian business/traffic by the time the GTAW staff decided to implement the crime-restricted zones.

Couldn't have said that better.

I'm all for 40 hours of development, 3x longer sentences, and forcing people to spend 25% of their time in TTCF.

Server's not ready for that.

by nature this setting of rp is literally second life/sims roleplay and people cant swallow that pill and attack people for rping the piece of that second life rp that they enjoy (gang rp is second life rp too, literally everything in this server is and thats the point of this normal life setting so if you're ragging on that then literally why even play it?)

 

the same people dont want a roleplay server, they want a cops and robbers server, evident in how they only argue in favor of things that involve shooting often and try and get rid of everything else that they dont like

 

half the arguments/opinionated takes i see around the community are based off of how someone wants things to be rather than how they actually are (literally can't say this enough times)

 

the same arguments want to take away things that are actually a thing irl and have no real impact other than making them cringe at it. only things that should be taken away is rape and pedo rp. the rest is kind of crazy to blow a gasket over. especially to treat another person like trash over (but i get it, everyone's gonna be toxic so just be toxic too, the mw2 method)

 

most people here are extremely narrowminded for seemingly no reason at all and its a super common trope on gta rp especially in comparison to other rp mediums like mmos, still trying to figure that one out but in reality dont care enough to come up with an answer. probably something to do with age

 

anyone under 18 should be permanently banned until able to prove they're 18+ this is no place for kids even if erp is banned.

 

there's no reason to keep erp but there's also no reason to ban it, sex is a pretty normal thing and so are sex fiends. just ban the people who don't respect privacy and do it where they're gonna get caught by people that dont wanna see it. your exhibition bs shouldn't have to interrupt people's time playing.

 

people should stop interjecting their personal OOC meme behavior into their IC characters unless playing nerdy/gamer characters who actually partake in that kind of behavior. tired of seeing gang members act like 4chan users, its not how people in the hood act.

 

normalize not roleplaying something if you don't know anything about it.

 

bring back taking multiple months to actually get anywhere in a gang and slow burn development of new characters in that life.

 

get rid of the people that are putting such a bad light on each side of the community with extremely low standards of roleplay and dm-centric mentalities

 

people that bring their ooc shittalking and trollish behavior into their characters to bait people and pretend like they're amazing top tier roleplayers are actually the reason why RP quality on GTA has gone so downhill over the last few years

 

for some reason people take the role in roleplay too serious. its not role playing its roleplaying. you're a person, not a piece of a faction or business' puzzle. flesh out your character more than their job/faction role and learn how to play a more authentic feeling human being instead of a video game trope.

 

development is not forum screenshots of you killing and/or drug-dealing, and neither of those 2 activities are character development on their own, they're a tool that leads to potential development that most people waste on not understanding the concept at all and instead let egostroking run rampant and ruin roleplay quality

 

concise /me's dont = rp quality.

 

overly detailed /me's don't = rp quality.

 

the funniest part about the bad lesbian erpers is that they're men that rp as lesbians because they're uncomfortable rping taking dick but they're comfortable erping another guy who also rps a lesbian for the same uncomfortability. if you'll erp with a man that rps a woman, rping taking a dick isnt much of a big deal at that point. the scary purple text isnt that big of a deal unless you make it weird via insecurity.

 

everyone argues for show don't tell but then can't understand basic emotion without being told

 

moderation of IC websites attached to gta world should be ICly moderated. people are capable of roleplaying it. stop making it ooc admin moderation and stop making it weirdly strict with no actual guideline. why can x person post z but y person cant, why is z deleted despite being a common thing on social media (i.e guns, risque photos, tame fights, vague death) none of that makes sense and breaks immersion when you run the risk of being accused of mixing/metagaming if you joke about mods deleting something icly since icly there's apparently no mods, which further makes absolutely no sense at all

 

this server has an extreme lack of authentic feeling characters and an extreme abundance of people that do nothing but search for a problem with other players rather than just being here to chill and enjoy some roleplay on a roleplay server

 

why do people act hard ooc when they're roleplaying on grand theft auto in 2022? stop it, you roleplay. you're the furthest thing from hard and you know it. none of us believe you. (exception being the few actual gangmembers that end up playing this stuff. you're valid, but you're still a roleplaying nerd like the rest of us so chill. nObOdY CaReS PeRrO)
