Minor adjustment to law enforcement /equipment pistol2

Detailed Description

As it stands, all of the handguns that law enforcement may equip, ranging from the regular Pistol, the Combat Pistol, the Heavy Pistol and all three of the modded handguns (SIG, MP9 and Glock) have a flashlight attachment on them, which may be normally toggled. The odd one out in the options though is the Pistol Mk2 (/equipment pistol2), this is the only handgun that seems to not have a flashlight attached to it, and there is no reason for such, as it is a functional possibility server-side: you may attach a Flashlight purchased to a Pistol Mk2 and it works just fine.

Permitting players to pick between equipping a handgun with or without a flashlight attached. Their use would vary by the type of work the character engages with, ranging from detectives in undercover work (no flashlight) to park rangers who may need to frequently light up areas where they utilize their firearms.

 

Relevant Commands/Items

A flashlight needs to be attached to the Pistol Mk2 that is equipped through the /equipment pistol2 command for law enforcement factions. Should be fairly easy to do, bringing it in line with all the other handguns. Additionally, players should be able to pick between a flashlight/no flashlight variant of all the handguns available (including server-side custom modded ones).

 

How will it benefit the server?
It would allow peace officers to utilize the Pistol Mk2 as an option from the wide variety of handguns, without being handicapped by missing the flashlight attachment that is found on the other pistols.

This. Please no. It's literally the ONLY weapon I can use undercover with no flashlight.

 

Alter the suggestion and ask for a Mk2 with a flashlight away from pistol2. Also wouldn't this be more of an internal faction suggestion that has to be pushed by leadership?

Must be the reason it was not added to the Mk2 prior to the transition to 1.1, however that has been ages ago, it's about time the Mk2 was brought up to date with the other handguns in the game.

This suggestion doesn't specifically revolve the Los Santos Police Department, however it is something that pertains to the game script, and as such can't be suggested "internally to faction command". The flashlight should be attached to the firearm by default, in case of the restrictions that are within PD (i.e only Detectives may use the Mk2 pistol), they may optionally suggest /this/ internally, opting to have their flashlights removed from the Mk2. The restrictions of one faction shouldn't affect others, similarly to the SIG, Glock or MP9, the Mk2 pistol is a viable alternative for a patrol sidearm.

Edited the initial suggestion, not sure if a separate Mk2 can be added in the /equipment menu, to contain the flashlight, while leaving the detective equipment as-is, with a Mk2 pistol (or potentially the addition of the custom ones with no flashlight).

It's been left alike with a reason. I'm not sure if /equipment varies from faction to faction (or if it can), but the Police Department has it this way so its detectives can use a pistol without a flashlight since flashlights used to be law enforcement only.

 

Perhaps the title of the suggestion is adjustment to Park Rangers /equipment pistol2 and not "law enforcement". It's mind boggling how one in the Police Department should go and make an internal suggestion yet suggesting something for 'law enforcement' between the 4 factions and ~500-550 overall members surrounding law enforcement factions requires no leadership nor LFM input. There's a specific way development works for legal factions and that is usually through a faction handler, since this change has no impact to the greater masses at all.

 

P.S. Unless things changed, it's been an LFM expectation that the Heavy Pistol is reserved to tactical teams and the MK II to detectives. This has been the case for both law enforcement factions who have such things. If you don't have neither, the expectation should be to ask in what capacity you can use them. The point I'm getting across is /equipment, much like mods, serve specific needs and purposes based on each faction and so far it's been centralized.
