Make masks cheaper

It's not even that much if you don't have to buy a new one every day. There are so many items that have unrealistic prices, it's just what it is.

Solution? Separate the masks to hide your name from the normal masks.

 

This feels like an ideal compromise - keep masks that hide your identity at 5k, but make aesthetic masks more affordable.

I disagree with the seperating them part. Why should I have to rely on a money barrier to keep people from metagaming my face through a mask?

Honestly, masks shouldn't be an IC item. Just being honest. The only reason they exist is so you have to pay to hide your name. Hiding your name to prevent metagaming, shouldn't require an IC item, that costs the equivalent of a 1 hour shift. It shouldn't be taken IC because you're literally paying for an IC item to "unlock" a command used for OOC purposes.

Hell no. Masks have been priced like since near the start for a reason — way too many people go around non-RP robbing people, and the price is supposed to act like a deterrence, in a way. It makes you question whether it's worth buying it at all.

 

If it was cheap, too many people would buy masks and go out robbing because it's not going to net them much loss. The price has not changed in years, and shouldn't change. If anything it should be more expensive — what possible reason could you have for having a mask other than to hide your name? Usually it's for concealment for the obvious reasons.

Just move the masks that don't cover your face to clothing store or barbershop whichever is applicable. Had to pay five grand for a decent ear piece from the mask store.

I agree with this at least. The whole clothing/mask systm needs redoing because some of the "masks" are earpieces or hats that are already available in the clothes store. We should be allowed to toggle those earpieces using a command, same way we have the /gloves system.

No thankyou, there's enough half-assed robberies as it is without introducing more masks to the server. The pricing of the masks was very careful and deliberate, if anything I might argue for them being a bit more, or give each mask so many uses before it's unusable.
