10.1) Mugging

10.1) Mugging

It is only permitted to /rob or /mug another player for the items they have on themselves at the current time, this does not require admin permission unless within a Restricted Crime Zone. Players may not rob/force other players to withdraw money from the bank or an ATM. Debit cards/credit cards also fall into this subject.

So I've a friend who was robbed outside of a casino for 1M+ in money and I think there should be some means of getting that money back. Seems silly I can camp outside casino's (apparently not against the rules) and just mug people walking out with loads of money in the first place. Let alone the fact that if, from my understanding, if I was robbed for let's say 1,000,000 after a successful day at the casino; there's nothing I can do to get that money back if they bank it.

I think there should be some possible means of getting back the money so robbers can't just jack thousands if not millions in cash and the only repercussion's is a PK, potentially a CK if you really wanted to spend the time on that. I think you should at the very least be able to force those who stole from you to withdraw from a bank or ATM and pay back what was stolen. Obviously they can just stash the money in a house or give it to a friend or whatever. It just seems incredibly cheesy you can rob someone of 1Mil and if they banked it, it's forever gone and no means of getting it back.

Would like people's thoughts on this or something similar. Or just any means of combatting this, whatever works.

Isn't there a rule that states the maximum is 25,000? Or was that only for scams.

75,000 for scams. I believe they got rid of the max for mugging/robbery.

But, I agree. I think its highly unrealistic for people to camp outside of casinos just to get easy money to begin with.

Not entirely true. People love to camp around bars, casinos, and strip clubs because there's a high likelihood you'll find a lot of cash in those places.

However, casinos general have way better security, and ATMs in the actual building, not outside of it. I think at high amounts you cash in a check, and not raw cash?

Although, the security tends to stop at the doors, with parking lot cameras mostly just trying to catch car accidents, not muggings.

Just as unrealistic as thinking you can walk out of a casino with a million dollars without hiring any security and arranging safe transport. We're talking about a million dollars, nothing is unrealistic if the winnings are a million dollars to be honest. This seems like a skill issue, dude should've been smarter. You'd spend maybe $20,000 for a quick trip to the bank paying for a 4man security team alongside a fully armored money transport truck.

This is definitely true.

I also heard that you could put your money in the bank while in the casino, correct me if I'm wrong. But you should be thinking smart if your walking out of the casino with a million bucks.

I'm hesitant to limit people taking advantage of unaware persons carrying large amounts of cash. Instead of a rule I'd apply IC pressure to casinos to provide ways to deposit the money into an account or a credit system instead of giving physical money.

Besides, walking out of a casino with a payout that massive is absurd. Even by the hyperinflation we have on the server, no Casino should be comfortable with letting people walk out with $1M in cold hard cash.

As much as I don't like robberies. I have to agree with others here. If you win too much, you are painting yourself a target. Irl some criminal groups or gangs even have observers in casinos or game rooms. They watch who wins and give tips to the robbers waiting outside. I reckon same thing happens here too. Not to mention that OCG or Gang ran game rooms may occasionally rob their customers. Especially if they aren't local. If someone wins too much, they should consider spending some extra money for guard escort or deposit.

Some casinos have internal policies to handle large amounts of money through checks and wire transfers after a threshold is met, both for the patron's safety and because of tax documentation/anti-money laundering regulations. Having the winnings deposited to your bank account should be a thing, as well as being able to withdraw from ATMs inside the casino.
