  1. What we really need, is consistency. A major issue is how most admins can interpret the rules, but an outlier could view them differently. It results in 10 admins telling you something is ok, only for an 11th to punish you for it, and any staff report you try to make will just get rejected after 2 months of waiting, and instantly locked so you can't even reply. While we're at it, more transparency would be nice. I saw an admin the other day tell someone who was banned for cheating, that they don't have to provide evidence to them. That's kinda fucked up tbh, there's a reason every respectable judicial system requires you face your accusers and defend yourself against evidence. What if the admin is wrong? What if there actually is a good explanation for it, but the user isn't given the chance to defend themselves? With an admin team as large as GTAW's is, you cannot just settle for pure discretion. There needs to be standards, there needs to be well communicated rules and punishments for both the players and the admins. I know rules can't ever be perfect, and discretion is an important tool admins need to be able to have for those situations that the rules didn't intend for, but none of that matters if the rules are so vapid and confusing that no one can agree on what they even mean. Hell, a lot of rules are simply too strict to be followed perfectly 100% of the time, and almost no one here does. I mean fuck, do some admins even RP on this server? Some feel so out of touch with how the community actually acts. I've got a list of great admins here, and almost all of them I met via roleplay. Finally, on the actual topic of punishments... If you can solve all of the above issues first, then you can get to dishing out punishments that are not only fair, but deter unwanted behavior. One nice thing I will say about how this community is set up, is how much room you get to redeem yourself. Nervous was right when he said people do change, people do improve, and people should be given additional chances. I'll agree, that more ajailing for some offenses, or temp bans would do a great job at deterring bullshit... but atm, the rules themselves are bullshit, and I already get pissed off when I'm given a warning for shit other admins said was ok. You start giving out harsher punishments, the rage is just going to scale with it.
  2. Q: Tell me you play GTAW without telling me you play GTAW A: Some people will defend doxxers, and make fun of you for complaining about getting doxxed Only on GTAW!
  3. Shit, sorry, my bad. I thought I could enjoy GTAW without getting doxxed or bullied. This community should replace its slogan, instead of heavy text-based RP, it should instead be "Get doxxed, fag"
  4. If you make too many posts in Suggestions, you'll get harassed, bullied, threatened, then doxxed. If you wear cat ears and listen to bongocats (channel 155), you'll get harassed, bullied, threatened, then doxxed. If you associate with anyone certain factions don't like, you'll be blacklisted, harassed, bullied, threatened, then doxxed. If you play an immature character and act immaturely, you'll get labeled a troll, no matter how seriously you play them the rest of the time. Then you'll get harassed, bullied, threatened, then doxxed. The majority of players don't follow the majority of rules, but will happily closely watch and report you for every little obscure rulebreak if you piss them off. If you make a report, there's an 80% chance you'll get in trouble too for some obscure or over-complicated rule that no one actually follows 100% of the time. You can get cleared by 99 admins for something, but get penalized by that 100th admin who interprets the rules differently. Staff appeal will be tossed. You'll get reported for not RPing an unrealistic glitch in physics that launches you really high in the air. Then, you'll get RPQM'd for RPing out single injury because its "unrealistic someone would get hurt this often." If you post a video of gameplay anywhere, you're just giving haters ammo to report you with, even if you were alone. The only way to enjoy this game is to find a small group of friends, because everyone else is just really angry you don't play the way they do, and will harass, bully, threaten, then dox you. Remember guys! 90% of the community is really friendly!

  6. My favorite feature here is the news, and synced face.
  7. Name: DruidGodess0742 Comment: Ohhh, we get a news story about some random dude in Paleto, but my friend Ellen who died doesn't even get a funeral? #justiceforhomelesschildren
  8. I could, but the scene I was trying to set up is ruined either way. The most likely scenario was it was some 7am dude sprinting around testing every car they come across hoping to find one unlocked and running so they can get somewhere faster or something. I dunno why they do it but there's a never ending supply of it, and its highly likely the report would drop binned with the guy simply saying he didn't see the /cim. The only real solution is a system in place to reduce this in the future, to enrich roleplay and help it feel more impactful.
  9. Alright calm down you two, especially @Jerm124. I know you're pissed you're muted, and I agree with you its not exactly fair, but you're barking up the wrong tree and you might get yourself banned with how you're talking about the literal owner of the server. I'm not sure if you were paying attention, but complaining about RageMP was not a rule until about 20 hours ago, BEFORE this post was made, BEFORE Jerm, Cindy, and plenty of others were muted. So, how do you expect us to follow rules that WEREN'T written? Now that they are, its easier to do so, but these unfair mutes persist. However, this thread isn't a ban/mute appeal, its about admin accountability in general, and I prefer we stay on topic. Adding in rule 12 to the discord server this morning was a step in the right direction, but the issues where people get muted without any warning, or explanation, is still prevalent.
  10. +1 on this tbh I'm not a fan of being able to TP around. I think the purpose for it is because people who crash or D/C in the middle of a road, or haven't been online in a while, can choose where they spawn, such as an airport to fit their IC story. But.... its abused all the time. I see people get banned frequently for abusing it to TP their characters around and escape encounters. Would it be possible to add a timer to this? Last time logged on under an hour? Can only spawn in last known location. Under 8hrs? House unlocked. Anything after, airport. You take care of that, and you can solve the fixveh abuse too.
  11. Honestly? That's a good start that Nervous added RageMP to the server rules. I highly appreciate that move, as it will help reduce misunderstandings in the future. I know Nervous is passionate about RageMP, from what I understand he's actively helped with its development, its a preferable to FiveM (the only GTA MP alternative) due to its familiarity with SAMP, and Nervous had some strong creative differences with FiveM's team besides. So, I can fully get behind why he's very defensive about it, hearing people trash something you've worked hard on is tough, especially when most complaints shared about it are something outside of Nervous' control. However, I think think leniency should be given to those who were banned/muted before the rule was formally added to the discord. Its not fair that people should be banned/muted for something they weren't even aware was against the rules. In addition, I'd like to repeat my original point, that there should be warnings and explanations given before indefinite mutes, as rarely do people receive either.
  12. Yeah but that's not the point GTAW isn't necessarily set in the GTAW universe, and a lot of things that happen in the campaign are actually banned here (such as cannibalism). GTA5 is heavy on the satire, and the hyperbolic or stereotyped nature of LA Culture. GTAW, however, is a much more grounded setting, with a more realistic city that doesn't allow literal smut in public, for the same reason its not allowed IRL. GTAW seeks to replicate a real American city as best as it can, limited only by the engine's limitations and some gameplay conveniences to make up for the fact people aren't online 24/7. That's why minors exist, that's why players play cops, and politicians, and that's why we have a full crime and justice system that'll impound your car for speeding or running lights. And that's why you can't be obscene in public, where both minors and simply those who dont wanna see it, exist. And before you say "Well minors shouldn't play this game, its 18+" No. The game is rating M, 17+ to PURCHASE, not to own. At least in America, things get a little more complicated with rating systems in other countries, but I don't wanna get into that whole spiel. A lot of people do not wanna see NSFW shit shoved in their face, both IRL, and IG, minors and adults. Hell, a lot of people haven't even played the campaign, they got this game just to RP here. So saying "yeah but the game is 18+" is not an excuse to be gross in public. This isn't an ERP server, or an ERP game, Rule 9 and 19 exist for a reason, and ads should not be an exception to them.
  13. I do that all the time, mostly cuz I've noticed that even if you repeat your /me describing your injuries, people still seem to miss it. Also doing a /createscene is a great idea, I'll start doing that. Kinda wish we could have it done automatically, like when we set shit on fire.
