  1. I mean, obviously not university life, but my point is, out-of-classroom interactions. Dunno how the faction is set up, who's running point, how are the teachers acting obviously, but if experience has shown me anything, is that you can only expect so much from people to RP both a teacher and a student in a classroom setting. There is a whole lot of other stuff that can work with a school, and I'm not saying regular classroom sessions won't work. But I cannot see it happening for like, long hours. Not to mention that teachers need to also be able to RP knowing their shit to be teachers and that's the most difficult part
  2. The super secret ingredient that keeps ULSA going as a university, is the realization, understanding and acceptance that when your target group is probably OOC in a university, they wouldn't really be interested to log in for their fun and have to roleplay their IRL stresses. This is all about escapism after all. So ULSA states clearly that while yes, lectures do happen, yes, there is an academic year, but ultimately ULSA is a faction about university life, not university duties and stresses. Davis High should probably focus on that more and also, probably curb the violence. Though I have to say nothing of this surprises me in the slightest. It's good we didn't have a shooting in it already.
  3. My only regret is that I will sadly not have enough time before this gets locked to go through all 12 pages of this thread, copy and paste all the inexcusable hostility, sentence by sentence, in one post to showcase just how wrong it is to try and explain that if you're trying to use more words in a text based roleplay server there is an actual set of people that immediately consider that you're: a) Just here for the ERP b) a mallrat c) elitist d) and this gets the cake exclusively a legal roleplayer because the absolute chads that are our crime scene don't fall into "para RP" How many threads like this do we need to actually show and prove once and for all that you don't have one community in this game? That you have people who actively, constantly, without provocation believe that if you don't play "their" style of RP they will always look down on you and will consider and treat you like an NPC and flavour? You don't believe me? 12 pages. 12 pages in which the majority that criticises a style of emoting in a text based roleplay server simply show their colours. Just... JFC, if you can't event accept the fact that by being here you are no more privileged or entitled than the next person, and that the amount of respect you demand from your closest clique is the exact same amount of respect you are expected to give others, you should seriously reconsider why you're here for. And no, I'm not going to call out names, hit mentions or anything. If reading this reply angers you, it's a red flag to reconsider your attitude towards people that are here to have fun as well. And who have the exact same right in having that fun as you.
  4. I dunno man, I'm just quoting what the Panda said, in the server's announcements 🤷‍♂️
  5. Ι mean, this goes both ways Just because you don't understand that having a community of thousands, peaking at 850-900 players, that also generates thousands of $$$ doesn't have the same impact as a server with a max of 100 people, doesn't mean Management or RageMP's management doesn't. Case in point? - Banned RL brands - Official reason of Closure of LC We here are all players. We devote some hours into this game to have our fun and then log off and that's it. None of us here will ever be legally liable for ANY shit we do while playing in the server except in the most extreme cases. Want to ask Panda's opinion about HIS and his team's legal liability, for providing a platform and using R*'s assets? You'll discover a much different picture than what you have in mind.
  6. Want to be the ones who will test that theory? I don't The rules are not as shady or unenforceable as you think. The one thing that needs more clarification and you are right, is how vague the brawl rules are. The shooting rules are clear. And they are that way for a real reason. It was one of the original misgivings AGAINST having a high school in the first place. It's better to say "no bang bang in school, do it 2 blocks away" with an iron grip than face any consequences later. The sex rules are also clear. Rule 19. No minor characters and/or played shall engage in sexual or intimate roleplay. Should staff explain what they mean close interactions? Maybe. But since hand holding will be allowed, do we really need staff to waste time on defining what are the limits in emoting a make out session? If someone needs that, that's a hint right there it won't be an acceptable emote.
  7. I started on this server back in May '21. Still play the same two characters, created a year apart. With the longer living of the two, when I started, I used to call the police when I saw dead bodies to get someone there to address the situation and call someone to pick up the bodies. After the 2nd or 3rd body, when a cop in civies turned around, looked at the body, shrugged and said "yeah we'll get someone on it", I stopped. Why? Because calling someone for dead bodies basically affects two factors: - Yourself and the trauma of the moment which had diminishing returns the more it happens and - The IC groups who are in charge of collecting the dead bodies off the street (DMEC and I THINK Public Works?) When it's the 10th body I've witnessed, it doesn't affect me that much. My character has seen and been in shootings, he's seen university students get stabbed before his eyes, he's had his fair share of beat ups. He doesn't react like a fresh off the plane guy anymore. He had accepted the fact that Los Santos is a weird mix of luxury, high class and Third World narco-warlord conflicts all in one. That's the only explanation I can give myself to keep the illusion going. Stay in your lane, and you'll stay in the "sunny" side where no Assault Rifles come after you other than the occasional mugging or home burglary or invasion. The fact this is even a notion, is a talk for another time. Also, when it's 8am server time and there's no DMEC online to pick up the body I also straight up ignore it. Doesn't give me RP, doesn't give DMEC RP, doesn't give DMEC money.
  8. No. Not really. We DO understand what the OP means. And we also do know three things. One - that (some) roleplayers are little shits that like to push the limits and only know they went too far after they have gone too far Two - What DasFroggy said. Having a school in the server is an INVITATION to get a C&D By Rockstar, not for a "mass shooting incident" but for a school VDM troll video or a school DM troll video with an AK Three - it's no secret that there are bad actors between the GTA RP communities. As idiotic as it sounds, people actually take things so seriously they want to see a server closed. There won't be a need to engage in elaborate DDoS attacks again. They just need ONE person to get approved with ONE app, to get access to ONE gun, go crazy inside the school, upload the video and top off R*. That's it.
  9. The fact there is an actual argument that would conceivably try to present a school shooting as a "good" and acceptable scene of RP shows to me just how much of a disconnection exists in some of our players. The fact that there are suggested clarifications on how far sexual RP minors should be allowed to go, and Rule 19 isn't something that's simply understood and accepted, just shows how little regard people have for anything that is outside their own bubble of perception. The US, just last year alone experienced some of the worst tragedies in school shootings. And even though we as Roleplayers managed to inadvertently hold a 2nd Amendment barbecue mere weeks after one such tragedy, NOBODY BUT TROLLS had ever considered to request to RP a school shooting before. Nobody. It's an open wound over yonder across the Atlantic and I cannot believe that I read the slightest inkling of suggestion that good RP would come out of it. There is ONLY one good thing that will come out of this. People WILL break this rule. Management WILL be merciless with these rule breakers and as a side effect, the playerbase will go through a minor purge of people who actually believe that's it's acceptable in any level to portray a school shooting. In 2023. As if having them IRL is. It enough.
  10. Username: NikTheGreeek Comment: You have a rough road ahead to amend the damage caused to the Democrats' reputation, Senator Jones. This resignation is a first step towards the right direction. It is my hope that in the future, the Democratic Party will be filled with individuals of strong moral integrity so that their good work is not fouled by flaws of character like the ones demonstrated by the former "Senator". It's not difficult to listen to the people and come up with legislation that will be considered "good" and "progressive", especially in a state as diverse and troubled as San Andreas. The difficult part is finding the people of strong moral fiber to do so, not just to garner support but because they feel the need to change in their very core. And the former "Senator" was not such a person. Good luck.
  11. Username: NikTheGreek Comment: I would much prefer to get out of retirement and reach out to the Democrats to take up the burden myself, rather than let The Democratic Party repeat the same mistake of letting in a guy like Giraldi.
  12. Username: NikTheGreek Comment: I was very content to watch from the sidelines during this drama, up until now. But now you decided to use handpicked data to make yourself seem more important than you were. The trick with data is that few people know how to read past them, but a lot of people get wow'd by pretty charts. For the benefit of those few people of San Andreas that actually do read things, they need to see what kind of misinformation you are spreading. Let's start with your attendance chart. Yes - it shows how many sessions people have been in. However, it doesn't show times that these sessions were carried out. Or, even better, time slots. Perhaps Goodwater, Jones and Shepherd have been to 100% of the sessions that took part after a certain time, while you, Rossi and Bradenburg have been to all sessions (mostly). Without this information, it is incomplete. Maybe you're right, but you're not showing it. It's deceitful. Further, it doesn't show another piece of critical data: Average length of session duration with you there, and without you there. If on average a session lasts an hour or more longer with you there, then were you really constructive to that session, or were you simply there to waste taxpayer money by wasting people's time? More: Resolutions (and their average time) proposed by the Democrats, split into those you voted for, and against and if they passed or failed. Resolutions (and their average time) proposed by the Republicans, split into those you voted for, and against and if they passed or failed. These two will give an indicator on your behaviour while in these august chambers - Did you antagonize people just to antagonize and delay and draw a session onward, with no real requirement? Or was there -constructive- reason to keep talking? If the Appropriations Hearing I once attended with you (thankfully, it was my last one. I wouldn't be able to stomach another with you in it) is any example, you delayed a pretty much standardised process that has ESTABLISHED audit checks that could have answered all your questions, "just because". You delayed our Law Enforcement's funding for weeks, because you wanted to know beforehand how the money will be spent, rather than use the established auditing procedure and investigate either past spendings, or investigate where the money will be spent. Yes, you were there. Yes, you were speaking. No, you were not contributing or representing the People's best interests and Yes, YOU were wasting taxpayer money. Proposals: Showing how many were submitted again, means little. It just means you wrote a lot of words. How many of the 11 you submitted were accepted? How many of Rossi's 13? How many of Jones' 3? What's your ACCEPTANCE RATE? This would lend credence to your ability to CONVINCE the Senate as a legislator, which is you know ... Kind of the KEY METRIC on whether you're a good politician or not. And finally, your accusation about salaries... Do senators make $400,000 / month, or UP TO $400,000 / month? Have senators Jones and Shepherd been collecting their FULL Salary, or have they been receiving a portion of it just like any other official who is not around 100% of his expected time? It's easy to work a crowd, and create sentiment to build the image of a loyal and hard working politician. It's harder to actually be a loyal and hard working politician. Hopefully, your time away from the Senate will give you time to consider all of these but I have a nagging feeling that you're a lost cause.
  13. No, no thank you. MDC already shows all of a person's properties and registered vehicles, which is already too much information that would NORMALLY require a warrant to get. Employment history or current employer has no job being on an AVERAGE COP'S Mobile Data Computer. Like all those before me said... That's somethint you should need a warrant for.
  14. To my knowledge you cannot have two business scripts in one property. So while in SOME cases this may help, it doesn't cover the initial request of having a staff member of a business being able to give access to it. Like for example, in a hotel. You want your staff to be on the business script and get paid, but you don't want your guests to get paid. It would be nice to be able to use a command like this. Keys are shown in /tenants anyway

    Income Tax

Not all legal factions are tax exempt. GOVERNMENT legal factions are tax exempt, which means SAGOV, LSGOV, JSA, LEOs and ULSA. People forget that more legal factions exist, and they pay a whopping 12% income tax compares to the 5% you just pointed out. Sure the tax exempt ones are just more numerous, but as it has already been said, there is a cap on how much they make
  16. I strongly advocate against using anything other than drugs in any way to change mechanics. Like buffs or nerfs. Hunger and thirst as RP prompts to remind you to RP drinking or eating something (if it's not disruptive to the scene) with zero mechanics modifiers- yes. This promotes RP. But just this
  17. If only we all had scripts in our houses to cook... Shops to sell groceries to be used for said cooking... But ultimately, what I said above is my stance.
  18. The only hunger / thirst system that was not punishing is the one in Valheim where you don't lose benefits of you're hungry, you just don't gain anything. If there was just a counter that sends a message to you, "you are thirsty" or "you are hungry" and had absolutely zero mechanics effect, meaning no health loss, no disadvantage, no nothing then it's something I'd support as it's just a vehicle for more RP. Taxes are already a thing. A measly 5% on all income if you're on "welfare" (the 500/800 per hour) or a buffy 12% if you're in a non tax exempt faction. Fuel is also already a thing. They're just low enough because the lowest denominator - the jobless person that gets 500/hr - must be able to make ends meet. As long as the money sink is feasible, rather than realistic, stuff like clothes, higher taxes, more expensive fuel, maybe even BILLS for your properties that scale up based on their market value are stuff I'd be willing to pay for. But. As long as the 500/hr player can still make ends meet, even if they're forced to live in a poor area.
  19. Waiting to see if the previous buyer wants it once we meet. If the sale doesn't go through, I'll notify here

  21. Wolfsbane 2010 sold. Just the Camper left.
  22. Imho, the amount "earned" should not be calculated based on a grinder's income. Grinders are always going to grind, no matter what you do. They'll do it when "nobody is looking", when other players might emote even when nobody is around. Income should be calculated with the player with the right mindset in mind, not the grinder, because otherwise you just punish the non-grinding players further. That aside, I'm sure that if "road time" was somehow implemented and translated into profit (maybe at the end of your "trucking shift", you get an amount based on time spent driving up to a certain maximum / day), it will allow the reduction of prices for crates' cost and payouts, while leaving components / crate the same, or mostly the same. This would help both the store owners, who would pay less to get resupplied, and the truckers who would now have an incentive to take longer, out-of-city jobs, due to the longer road time involved. Overall the income MIGHT be able to be tweaked to stay the same / hour, with incentives given to -drive- rather than spam Y. Yes, this would allow people to make a lot more money, though the current "demand" can barely support the current supply, let alone allowing more crates in vehicles. Also, the Y spammers will always be an issue with the current system.
  23. +1. This should be a setting in pmanager. "Allow tenants to give out keys" same as construction rights and so on
