The toggleable suggestion is a good idea, but with the current state of animations I don't think this would work. If typing, on one person's screen you'd be facing another way. For people driving past, you might not even be doing an animation at all. And what about if your character's already in an animation? Having to toggle it on and off every time is sure to get frustrating.

This is a fair point. Unless these mods are addons, these replacements will just replace each other.

I have exactly the same powers as a full officer so I can do exactly the same thing as they do, except I do it part time and for free (expenses covered of course).

I work in the risk and threat management, so I'm responsible for the lovely certifications (ISO27001 etc) and phishing people. I also work part time as a volunteer cop.

I like the idea of these public places being divvied up to the Government or someone who then leases them. We had an incident on the Yacht where someone's PF was revoked because it's /technically/ public property.

There is a significant difference between not having the manpower to conduct an investigation and the right people not being online due to real life commitments.

Except there are certain times where the detention of a suspect is necessary to secure and preserve evidence. In real life, those enquiries can be done within the 24/48 hour time limit. In this game, they cannot - people aren't online, for example.

I think the 72 hour hold is there to act as a way to investigate the crime while keeping the person of the streets. Due to timezones and play times, etc, if you're arrested on a Saturday night for example, you could be out committing crime again while your case is investigated by someone who plays 12 hours different from you. It's a fine line but I think one that's necessary, because otherwise we'd have no way to properly investigate high level offences.

Then the issue is resourcing. At any one time, sure we can have 10-15 officers on. But at that same time there's also a shooting in Forum Drive, two dead at Jamestown and an MVA over in Pillbox that needs a unit controlling traffic. This leaves only 4 or 5 officers for a pursuit.

So, the issue is - if you are flying through the city at 100, by the time the cop clocks you and accelerates up to 100mph, you'll be gone. There's no chance of finding you. On the off chance that a vehicle does catch up (say the Interceptor, which is only for certain units anyway), we can spin up a helicopter but that relies on pilots being online. HSU is a...touchy subject and is in the works.

That's because 90% of the vehicles on this server outrun cop cars. There is absolutely 0 point in chasing something that we cannot catch.

Sometimes I stay on patrol longer than I should just for a chance to shoot people in Forum Drive (don't tell anyone else that though!)

I think turning the warrant into a note and then having an administrator place it into the inventory of the property would be really cool.

Simple solution? The handling administrator sends a notification via the UCP to the offline player saying "** PROP ADDRESS ** You would notice the front door has been smashed in and the contents of the house would be untidy, as if it had been ransacked during a search." No need for any scripts.
