  1. Exactly. Huge miscalculation by management. A lot of people made the assumption the players not playing on LS would simply play on LC and vice versa. But there a lot of people that got lost that weren't really invested in LC and didn't want to have to start over from scratch but stopped playing LS as well because it was getting like 100 players.
  2. But making the claim if you don't roleplay hating each other it isn't realistic is? When I say I've spent plenty of time in LA. I don't just mean one vacation. I've was there just in July and spend plenty of time there between work and vacations. You are speaking in stereotypes and generalizations based on just your own personal anecdotes. There aren't even any intense sports rivalries between NY or LA compared to like Yankees vs the Astros or Redsox or Giants/Cowboys. Most New Yorkers could careless about people from LA because they really aren't interacting with people from LA on a regular basis. And not saying that doesn't exist people from states disliking people from other states. Texans really don't like Californians if you said that you would not see me disagree. But the way you describe NY/LA is the way I see people talk about it on social media not the real world. Anyways we can just agree to disagree not sure why you got so defensive.
  3. Born and raised in NYC. Spent plenty of time in LA. This is not true at all, people from Coastal cities probably get along better than people in the rest of the country. What are you basing this off 90s rap beef?
  4. Only so much time in a day. The faction I'm in JSA things have slowed down a lot with people shifting GTA LC. We gotten even a few resignations from leadership already. I just don't see it happening a lot of people especially ones in legal factions were already spread thin.
  5. Los Santos is in the United States at least for continuity purposes. I am in the United States. My life experience is more relevant than anyone living outside this country because the purpose of this server is to try to roleplay an American lifestyle. And yes if you get caught committing a crime on parole you go back in. My point is that you are back out and way earlier than you would if you served your full sentence.
  6. I think if there are any plans for the LS server to thrive opening the LC one was not a good idea. One can't succeed without cannibalizing the playerbase of the other. I think LC is the future but I just don't see how the LS server bounces back.
  7. You could get released on parole, prisoners get released because of overcrowding in prisons, lenient prosecutors. No offense but do you live in the U.S my man. Because this is a big debate here progressive prosecutors being too lenient with repeat offenders including violent offenders constantly releasing them on the street.
  8. To your point about Greg Haskins I don't really agree. I think you have a false perception of American police, people like Greg Haskins exist IRL. Constantly in the system, constantly being released back out onto the streets a rap sheet as long as your arm, so if that ruins immersion your perception of what is realistic in the criminal system isn't reflective of what real life is. As for cops IA investigation I mean most of what you laid out seems like a continuity issue than a points or procedural issue. Maybe there needs to be a discussion about forcing characters to age themselves if they get sent to jail. And their are a lot of issues with how minor characters are handled even outside of the legal system.
  9. To play devils advocate the argument against longer prison times is at the end of the day its a game server you want people to play on it. If you make jail to punishing people will just check out if they are getting crazy Jail times. From a roleplay perspective I don't look at it in the way as these are IC bad guys and I should try to put them in jail for as long as a I possibly can at the end of the day its about the RP. People always underestimate the law of unintended consequences. It will just make people change their behavior but not in the way most people think. You aren't going to leverage IC jail time to get the desire results I just don't see people reacting it in the way people hope. Because if I know I'm about to go to jail for life, I am just going to speedaway from the pursuit or start bucking.
  10. I am a Appellate Judge at the moment. Closest thing we have to 3 strike is the 30 point system. Honestly I've been in JSA for about 2 years now, years of looking at IC criminal records on the MDC. If we gave out life sentences for every three serious felonies we would be CKing a lot of characters very frequently with life sentences. But there is probably an argument to be made a 3 strike law would deter felonious behavior but who knows. I think anything if you to tweak maybe reduce the amount of points needed for the mandatory life sentence but that would surely be subject of debate. I don't have any strong feelings on changing it from what it is now.
  11. I am on the side that we should treat this as an actual city. It just requires suspended too much disbelief to role play in an environment were you are in a city with sky scrapers but treat it like it only has a population of a couple of hundred. I think the best alternative I've heard to treating it like its full city is to treat it like if every character offline or online exist IG so I think that is around 100k. 100k makes sense for a city even that would be kind of low I can sort of wrap my head around that and you wouldn't feel too ridiculous role-playing that being the IG reality.
  12. I have one available. 600 Miles performance and Security package. Asking 90k.
  13. That is the problem. We have people whos probably still being supported by their parents or never even bought a used car themselves trying to pressure admins to push their understanding (or lack there of) of used cars onto the rest of the server. This is a common problem I see on a lot of RP servers. When you RP and emulate real life you also can emulate the problems with certain systems that also exist in real life. One example is the court system on here, if you do a full trial after being charged with a crime, calling witnesses it takes a long time IRL. That is still the case on the server and doesn't go away just because its RP. The problem comes in is players sees this issues and pressure admins to do something about it not understanding this is an issue IRL as well and just something you have to deal it.
  14. The reason it isn't worth it because how long is it going to take for that car to sell? If you come to me with a car I know I am not going to have an easy time selling either I'm not going to buy it or I'm going to offer you a price so low where the risk is worth it. I've had to take a loss on cars I've bought because they couldn't sell so I essentially had to give it away. I can't make money on a car I can't sell. If it was so easy to make the profit the person would of sold it themselves to a private buyer. Alright I've made my point its clear you aren't trying to respond to them. Again how does it help putting the vscrap price back to 50% when dealerships will justt raise their floor to 60 percent of the vehicle value and you still have the same issue. You haven't answered that and people like to oversimplify these issue they do it with the housing market as well. Just because its a video game doesn't mean supply and demand mechanics suddenly don't exist. Supply and demand isn't even that complicated. Any ways I'm done here.
  15. So they don't have choice to try to sell it privately themselves? And again the difference between GTAW and IRL Used cars is that there is an unlimited supply of any car you could want. That will always put downward pressure on prices especially if the demand for any one car continues to get saturated by new cars being added into the game. Its simple supply and demand my man. Low supply, high demand means high prices part of the reasons cars are so expensive IRL right now. Unlimited supply and low demand means super low prices. And if /vscrap goes to 50% all that is going to happen is dealers offer 60% of the car price oppose to 50% people are still going to complain. At a certain point people just got to accept the car market is what it is on the server and trying to intervene with the market will just create new issues.
  16. Threads like this is why I stopped running a car dealership in 2020. Because its so glaringly obvious a lot of people don't understand how used cars work and then people make complaints like this pressuring admins towards unneeded intervention. First Dealers have to make sure they make enough money to Cover the vehicle tax. Before the car sale tax I was able to to sell cars on tighter margins meaning I could offer more to sellers. I could offer up to 90k for a 100k car if I knew it would sell and that is a quick 10k profit. The tax killed that because players were complaining dealerships were making too much money. When in reality yeah we were making decent money but it took hours of being ingame everyday to buy and sell cars. Also the whole your car should be valued more because you put tens of thousands into it isn't how it works. Modifications will often cause cars to lose value because modifications are often personal and people have to pay to get them removed. Also the reason Dealers can do this is because when there is an overabundance of an item guess what happens? The price of that item goes down. The car market has changed A LOT since 2020. The car market is oversaturated meaning cars are much harder to sell nowadays. Back in 2020 there were certain models of cars that sold like hotcakes. Komodas were one, and I could make a lot of money buying Asteropes for 15k and selling it for 20k to newbies in large volumes because the populations was rapidly expanding. Now the money in cars seem to be in the higher end ones, I was able to run a dealership with most of my cars under the 100k mark now I couldn't see that working in todays climate. The car market is also a consequences of money being too available. Its hard to get top dollar for your car when people are selling the same car with 30%, 40%+ discounts because of how unvaluable money is. If I want to get rid of the car quick if I paid 150k for the car I'll sell it for 100k and take the loss because money is meaningless. So when you go to the dealership and wonder why you can't get the 140k your ask for that same car thats why. Lastly the variety of cars there is now its harder to sell any one car. Back in the today players were forced to a smaller selection of cars meaning the demand for anyone car was higher. Now that is not the case. The market is the market, getting admins to intervene only further distorts the market. I warned players pushing for this car tax the only thing that would do is make it so you get offered less for your cars. The people who had gripes with dealership didn't listen. Here is the result. People like to pick and chose when they want things on the server to emulate real life. The idea that if you bring a car to a used car dealer to sell and you not getting lowballed is not living in reality. They key thing your omitting is the supply of the 1960s car is what dictates its price. There is an unlimited supply of basically every car in this server. As long as there are an unlimited supply of cars from script dealerships expecting top dollar for any car in this server from a dealership is just unrealistic.
  17. I've said this on the SAAA thread but if you are in an American time zone like me it is nearly impossible to get fixed wing lessons all the teachers are European time-zone and usually only available very early in the morning U.S time. To me going to be honest doesn't seem like these new pilot jobs were well thought through. They created this job sky rocketing the demand for pilot license. But even I knew they did not have the instructors especially spread across multiple time-zones to cover the demand.
  18. I don't like the insinuating that legal rpers need to just shit their pants and just give everything up without resistant and not complain about it. At the end of the day you can't have everything be a 1 to 1 emulation of real life you have to design it in a way that is fun and balanced for players. Legal roleplayers being robbed several times a day is not conducive to people wanting to be legal rpers. And when that happens that when people start to complain its just a cops and robbers server.
  19. I can see what your saying from the videos you posted. Just seems like it requires a little more skill now.
  20. Buying Coil Taranis. 420-000. Preference on lower miles.
