The issue is man, when you're dealing drugs IRL, there's an abundance of customers. You don't have to look for people to sell to actively, as long as you got your shit, people will naturally follow, whether your primary demographic consists of junkies, psychonauts or stoners. 

 

In comparison to the actual market in GTA: World, you have to ACTIVELY go out and find clientele consistently. There are no actual consistent customers in this game, it's nigh impossible. You're right it doesn't make sense to scam people IRL, because guess what- Those customers are going to be back at some inevitability. Whether it's due to physical dependance on a substance or because somebody is trying to trip balls on a specific night. When you know, that in all likelihood, that customer is going to be a one and done deal, unless you're dealing in bulk with a supplier, yeah generally it makes a lot more sense to scam in that context.

It really doesn’t make sense though for our drug economy. Your consumer base is severely limited. Why? Because scamming is rampant. If you want repeat business, scamming them is not the way to go. If you want it to change, scamming them is not the way to go. It’s no surprise there is no consumer base for drugs. The reason they are one-and-done is that very issue.  We’re talking about players who aren’t going to willingly subject themselves to losing all the time. It’s a shitty mindset, but you know that’s how it is with a lot of players on this server. Realistic justification or not, scamming is counter productive to and detrimental to any sort of actual user base outside of normal illegal circles, your own gang members, etc.

No dude, it's just limited because getting your character high is extremely underwhelming to actually being high IRL. The amount of people that would willingly want to RP a person who abuses substances daily are very limited, and half the time are doing it for realistic portrayal of a very specific niche kind of character or for some kind of therapeutic value. 

 

That's why it's a one and done thing, because the grand majority of the time, it's a very underwhelming novelty that most people don't even know how to portray nor RP correctly.

You'll find a decent consumer base if you don't scam all of them. Yes, 80% will be throw-away characters that don't last passed a month, but that small 20% will always come back for more.

Also, don't expect people to return, everyday, if they're purchasing over 10 grams in one sitting. It's more of a two-times a week to weekly type of venture. Ten loyal consumers will make you rich without having to do anything, as holding and selling narcotics doesn't require any labour. It's similar to investing in stocks or real-estate, but with more risk knowing that you could get robbed or murder. In the end, you'll be making money if you play your cards right.

The consumer base is severally limited for the same reason GTAW clubs/bars make their money off of entry fees instead of liquor sales. People don't really know how to RP intoxicants/work them into their characters OR simply don't see the point in using them in RP at all. See the swarms of people who go clubbing/bar hopping for hours at a time only to drink one or two beers. Drugs for most of the servers population, including a lot of criminal RPers are sadly an incredibly occasional affair. That's why the consumer base is severally limited.

Nice attitude. If you read my previous posts, I said that I have no issue with taking whatever happens to my character including the negative. I've had several characters who use drugs and have gotten scammed. Not a big deal. It doesn't bother me at all. Simply pointing out the obvious and having a discussion.

Topic has been L&A'd for inactivity. Also, a new script in regards to drugs and whatnot has been recently issued!
