If the server wasn't set in the present, how would you like it to be?

Modern day is the best choice for a roleplay comunity since everyone is familiar with the present and you don't need a specific lore. But if you had to chose a specific time period for a roleplay server, not necesarily on GTA, what would it be and why? I think the 80's or the great depression would be fun, yet not having a cellphone would make things a bit harder. And current Los Santos isn't that far from a dystopian reality, so that'd be a nice choice too.

Well, even in our server, if we didn't have phones, we'd still find gangs at their blocks, MC's at their clubs, and clubbers at nightclubs, right?
