Disallow robberies outside / infront of casions

Recommended Posts

-1 There was a similar suggestion for open businesses and problems of people causing trouble but was met with the IC issue thing.

For anyone dumb enough to rob someone right outside the casino door- have CCTV perhaps. Or a guy on the door watching the carpark/where ever the entrance is. If there is a change be it through a person guarding or CCTV that someone can get caught for doing illegal things it's a preventative method.

That being said if it's -right- outside a door some common sense would probably go a long way from the criminal end. Around the corner / follow the person to a dark/quite spot is smarter ic/ooc perspective.

I'd figure a bunch of people who make their entire net worth doing nothing but gambling would understand the idea of "risk".

But maybe not.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. If you want to make money safely, work at some steady-job that deposits it into your bank account. You want to make huge amounts of liquid cash in minutes/hours? Accept that other people are going to want to take it from you and either hire security or pack heat.

Do what people IRL do. Leave in groups, avoid dark parking lots, and stash your cash as soon as you can.

Big -1. Genuinely a very poor idea.

I work in a Casino in real life, in the management actually. Let me give you an insight of what kinda services we have for our high end customers:

  • Securities walk them to their vehicles.
  • Usually a private car takes them home. Tinted windows.
  • For the biggest players, our security will even escort them to their housing.
  • We make sure to get our hired securities trained in martial arts and self defense. Some have licensed fire arms who are getting paid bonuses and extras all the time.
  • We have a guard post outside at entrance for the compound. Entrance to the compound is funneled through there.
  • We have a tower which has posted guards with RIFLES, that overlooks the entire parking lot and can see the exits.
  • Two armed guards with shotguns are posted at the entrance to the building. Two extra unarmed inside by the detector.
  • Our Cash-desk either has a bullet-proof glass window or reinforced metal bars. Our safe is a metal walk in box inside concrete building surrounded by thick walls. You can lock yourself in with ease and I can bet all my life's savings that nobody could get inside even if they knew the code.
  • Everywhere has panic buttons. Every room, every department.
  • Surveillance all around the compound, constantly. We have a huge department dedicated to it as well. They constantly, actively watch and communicate with others.

Now, I've been to casinos in game. I've been working with some of them as well. None of the casinos in game can live up to the real life counterparts. That's because we're roleplaying and this is a game. If you post a guard on a tower with a rifle, I can guarantee you someone will try to rob them. Powergaming is a joke to some people in this server. Therefore, it's not feasible to do some of these in the server. However that shouldn't stop casinos from providing some of these security details for their customers. It should not be enforced by a rule, it should be a norm for the casinos in game.

This. -1.

I’d say no? You shouldn’t have to be protected oocly by the rules for something that can be avoided icly. Get casinos to perhaps up their security or have facilities in place where you can make deposits after huge earnings.
