  1. I feel like many roleplayers don't have a basic understanding of how Americans are nowadays, especially Californians. I'm not trying to say "Amerika so badd omg" but a lot of Californians could really walk by someone's dead body and go "Oh, that sucks I guess". So it always baffles me how people get so butthurt over those freaky and weird characters doing some stupid shit like it's not just another day in the city of dreams.
  2. Ruth Dzeng: Hey hey hey, welcome to ERPo-Flash! Say, did y'all lose items yesterday too? Ruth Dzeng: Yeah, when the /pinv was cleared there I was DMing people... Well, if we're getting specific, I was blastin' a half-inbred redneck I found wedged in the gutter canal. Ruth Dzeng: Yeah, yeah, I know I shouldn't have... After all, I heard breaking rules zaps out all the enjoyment from the game. But hey, it kills the cockroaches too, so ya know... You DM some, you ajail some. Ruth Dzeng: Anyway, what was I... Right, the items disappearing. Apparently, some gonk from Davis went on a /breakin spree. Heard the crowbars were knockin' doors outta frames. The LSPD says the theft led to a hundred and twenty mill in damages all in all. The real tragedy though? I cannot stomach stopping an ERP session... Johnny: 120 million GTAW-dollars?! Hot damn. And just to get your hands on a bunch of sex toys. Johnny: Ya got some sex issues, V. PRESS (B) TO CONTINUE.
  3. Good morning, Los Santos! Yesterday's body count lottery rounded up to a solid 'n' sturdy thirty! Ten outta Davis, thanks to unabated OOC beef. One officer down, so I guess you're all screwed, 'cause the LSPD will not let THAT go. Got another shootout in Rockford Hills. Netbangers at it again, poking holes in the Facebrowser servers! While over in Pillbox Hill, Staff Team's scraping VDM victims off the pavement. Aaaand in Rancho... Well, Rancho is still Rancho. This has been your man Stan, join me for another day in our City of sexual Dreams!
  4. I had to huff massive amounts of copium as I wrote this but I'm going to say it how it is. This post is not a political statement or an attempt to stir up the pot and offend anyone. How I see the USA is based off news and experiences from Americans (or just overall people who live there) who I talked to. Modern America is not really nice nowadays, especially the large cities like LA. It's completely normal that this city we're roleplaying in is a crime riddled shithole. Following stoic philosophy, you should not be worried and pissed over stuff you have no control over. This server is probably not going to change and the only way to enjoy it as a civilian roleplayer is to be mentally prepared for the occasional bad shit happening. Whether it's getting jumped and robbed or witnessing some horrendous shit. I understand why civilians are pissed, it is difficult to roleplay someone who isn't desensitized to crime and a softie in a place where you constantly stumble upon various levels of crime, including the most vile and violent shit imaginable. But, it is what it is. Gotta do what you gotta do. I wish we were roleplaying in a version of America where people are not this desensitized, unfortunately when you want realism... you get realism. Crazy, right? You want less crazy shit? Go roleplay in the county. I totally recommend it. After all this is a game and maybe a good way to go about it is to not overthink stuff that much.
  5. Haven't used that term in a BRICK, but anyways, it was used mainly for just shit roleplayers. How do I deal with them? I avoid them. Sometimes I report them if what they do is particularly bad or hinders the experience of myself and others. Other than that as I said, I ignore them, avoid them, don't care. They have a certain vibe that they themselves like, and so do other people like them. They are free people and free characters who can do whatever they want in their groups. They are like a small group of popular kids at high school. And just like a group of popular kids at a school, they really ain't shit. Ain't shit to worry about or talk about, until they break rules or mess with my experience.
  6. Yeah I want to be a goth mommy gf with colorful contacts and severe mental issues, please Nervous.
  7. I do not want to call a fraction of the upper class society on this server cunts, but for the most part, yeah, they are asswipes and they probably self insert their feelings into the game, I cannot confirm that though. I just have intuition, you see? Anyways, my main character is trans, and I am trans myself, so I can properly portray her and I'm gonna be real with you here. Never have I had any issue with actual quality factions on this server. The bikers, organized crime, certain gangs have all treated her as just another character without unnecessary comments, hate and uncomfortable discussions. This is because I surround myself with quality players instead of hanging out at what you mentioned - high end parties and what not. I am not trying to give you shit here for going to these parties though, please don't get me wrong. I feel for you not being able to properly portray a character without prejudice, because being a transfem in real life, I came across people like that. And whilst they're not always dangerous or a pain in the ass to deal with (can be ignored), the fact that they just exist and you being you is some kind of problem to them is making me feel sad for their sorry lives. But this isn't about me and my real life experiences, just putting it out there that yeah, I understand you, friend. But where I am going with this? Basically this server has had a long term issue on both sides here. A part of the high end party scene has always been a bunch of stuck up cunts and roleplaying with them has been about as exciting as sliding your balls across a mile of broken glass. But then also, and this is coming from a member of the alphabet mafia... the way the LGBTQ+ whatever else there is now community has been portrayed by many players has been utterly disrespectful, unrealistic, fetishized and disgusting. I saw it all, from women who have been on HRT for 6 years who were still able to get fully erect and ejaculate to 19 inch futanaris, the shit people have roleplayed on this server has probably given me PTSD. And it's not just trans people, it's also gays who have been portrayed as overly flamboyant, annoying male bimbos. It's also lesbians being portrayed as boring thots, who sometimes happen to have unrealistic strength and the personalities of alpha males. Everyone who is queer has had a fair share of shit portrayal on this server. Unfortunately this behavior is therefore realistic. There is a SMALL annoying portion of the LGBTQ+ community who is giving me and other queer people a bad rep IRL. And just like that, there are characters who are getting hate even though they are not the same fetishized, weird characters that people are used to on this server. They're just people living normal lives, doing normal shit without spitting into everyone's face as they yell something like "I'M FUCKING GAYYYYYYYY!". To avoid this, I suggest you simply surround yourself with better communities, you can even take this IC because why would you go to the same spots you've been to now if they were harassing you? It would not make sense. Find places that are normal, not even LGBT friendly or accepting, but places which have normal roleplayers who have a little bit of brain inside of their head. It's sounds ridiculous but I swear "onna dead homies cuh" if you find the right places and the right people to play with, you will not get any of this treatment. It's amazing how many bikers, for example, are the chillest and most lovable characters on this server. I've never seen a quality MC faction kick a Player out of their establishment because they "looked like a fuckin' fag" or something along those lines. And I am not just saying MCs are the good guys here, there are a lot of good players in this community. You just happened to find yourself under an apple tree with all the rotten, disgusting apples. Walk on over a few minutes and you'll find the good stuff though! To summarize, I don't want to put it this way because this is pretty much what I stand against now - dividing the community. We should be sticking together and chilling. But unfortunately, since you mentioned only being here for a few months, as a Player who joined in 2018 the best advice I can give you is that some people are just not worth wasting your time on, and some places are not worth going to on the map. Because roleplaying there is like getting immediate stage 4 cancer. Good luck on your journey.
  8. I will say it again despite it being already said before, because I want to emphasize how important this is to me. Way harsher punishments for people, especially ones who behave erratically and are full on guilty and/or admitting fault. Scratch the admin jail, start banning people with a strike system. Exactly what someone said before me in one of the first pages but this is extremely important. We've been extremely sick and tired, as players who abide by the rules, of others being able to goof around with little to no consequence. You start putting out harsher punishments and more people will be comfortable going out of their comfort zone, I know this sounds like an oxymoron but you know what I mean, yeah? Also, I would love to see more projects opening up. Such as corporate offices, start-ups, stuff like that. Everything done with admin team funding and stuff, so that we can actually roleplay these environments and have good vibes without really focusing that much on making our money and therefore a profit. Something like Aurum Energy - fucking beautiful, I wish I saw more of these. Or that ISP company someone had. Other than that, I'd love to see more people stepping away from strict around-the-business gaming on this server. Businesses are not the only place where you can roleplay, the streets are there, same with the beach, parks, the nature and a lot more. Support the server economy, especially good ideas but also let's not make the streets of Los Santos feel so empty. I know this is a lot to ask for, but more traffic as well. I'd love to see a change of mindset in people when it comes to driving on this server. We should be striving to make this map feel as realistic as possible, and traffic will most certainly make it more immersive. I'm not saying we should lower down the speed limits since 60MPH in GTAV feels like 30-ish IRL but yeah, I would love to see more people just chill when they drive instead of blasting through intersections as they get from business to business to do fuck all. The last two points are more community based, I know, but that's what I would love to see anyways. I think that we can all get along and maybe not love, but respect each other in this community and that if we actually listen to each other's points and have civilized conversations we can come to some good conclusions and come up with decent ideas. And that, is something I also want to see. A little late, but happy 2023 to everyone 🙂

    Tomboy

enough with the femboys, about time a tomboy popped up in here 🔥🔥
  10. I recommend using AntiMicro for now, but +1 Steam Big Picture also works but I hate how fucky it is. Also doesn't work for Epic Games users.
  11. We are just lazy, or we simply love the idea of roleplaying as cute, skinny Asian women with drug addictions. Welcome to modern America, riddled with insecurities, with people faker than the shit my dad said about coming back with the milk. Everyone is riddled with insecurities thanks to social media, so people take out loans for stupidly overpriced surgeries and apply make up products using spatulas. There, the supermodel phenomenon explained. Sure it's over-exaggerated on this server but it's a fucking game. Let's not get philosophical here though, it's fine. Not really that big of an issue. Sure, we could use some more fat motherfuckers but... that's not going to happen and you know it. Fat characters are somewhat possible to RP now thanks to modded clothes, but for some people that is not enough. But to hit the actual topic and not where we slightly derailed - yeah, using the same face is a thing for some people but it is fine so long as the new character has a new identity and personality. If you're going to play with the same people, changing things up a little bit could be nice common courtesy but if you don't, I'll roll with it anyways.
  12. As long as it is constructive criticism that aims to explain to a fellow roleplayer what and how they could potentially improve, yes. If being a shithead should be going out of your way to ruin people's roleplay because you think they deserve it based on whatever is in your head, then no. Criticism and freedom of speech is something I'll always be behind, long as like I said, you're doing it in good faith to either help someone or to bring up how their behavior might be harmful for our community. I mean hell, in this thread we've already criticized plenty, from roleplayers to staff being too lenient with their punishment and wasting their precious time on trying to set straight grown ass people who act like a bunch of retarded middle schoolers. It's been pretty civil and maybe even productive.
  13. Never been punished besides one singular warning for some dumb shit I did, drove off a cliff with my truck as a shortcut and someone snitched on me. I thought they wouldn't see. That was back in the mining job days, everyone was tired and everyone did whatever they could to make it go faster. They ended up removing the job some time down the line. I got warned for that, because I explained myself to an admin and was being respectful. I think I deserved at least 30 minutes of ajail for that, yet I didn't get anything. Not to complain here, also this situation didn't necessarily involve other people, other than ruining someone else's immersion which is still valid and punishable - and people forget that. My point here is that, yes, punishments are way too light. It contributes to people being shitheads. The days of GTA World being open to noobs and willing to teach them should have ended years ago. We do not have enough staff, patience and will to teach everyone new how to behave. Not even mentioning teaching to roleplay because you should be able to roleplay when you join. Staff and management, this has been said many times. We do not intend to tell you how to do your job. But for the love of god please clench your teeth, fists and asses sometimes and slap people with the punishments they should realistically get. If someone hates it? Then they probably deserve it. Me personally, I can say I almost never got punished on GTA World. I don't care if I'll face 2 hours of AJ for something instead of 30 minutes.
  14. I was about to say that Instead of scripting in 0.1 decimal amounts of drugs, which would take time, we could just inflate the weight of drugs how we inflated money. One GTAW dollar is around $10 to $20 American. We could change laws so that 1-5 grams of a drug on you would be "traceable amounts" instead of full blown possession. Then I realized how fucking dumb it sounds even for a roleplay server so yeah, I'm on board with just implementing the 0.1 thingie.
  15. I do not think there is a need for this, Players should know better than to press Y and gun it down the road. If you want to flee from LEOs I thought it was common courtesy to roleplay it out first, but apparently it isn't. I think that instead of a timer, there should be a rule breach punishment issued to those who gun it first and think later. This can be classified as common courtesy or stretched out into powergaming, as in real life, turning the engine on, switching the car back into drive or first and then running takes those few seconds.
  16. It's a free country we're roleplaying in. If you suspect someone of committing a crime then call the cops, they're there for a reason. If you want to roleplay a Karen and get in someone's face over wearing a mask then once again, free country, you do you. Don't take it OOC. People do wear masks IRL even in extreme heat because they have reasons. Shitty air, insecurities or dislike towards one's facial features (examples: transfem people hiding their facial hair shadow, people with acne, people with other severe skin problems etc.) and such. They don't get cops called on themselves or people approaching them to ask questions as long as they do not conduct any suspicious operations in an area. If someone's masked and a troll, report them. If someone's masked and not doing shit, then act in character. Either leave them be, confront them, call the cops on them if they're sus, or get out of the area because you're scared they might do something bad. There is no need to moderate this OOC, there is already a rule regarding this stating masks should be used in realistic scenarios. Your character simply wanting to wear a mask is realistic. You can't do shit about it, it's a valid reason.
  17. These are my rules which I swear by and will abide by until I die. 1. Never refer to my character as myself. I will also never refer to any other character using words such as "you", "yours" etc. Characters are characters and should be separated from the Player behind them. This is a great way to separate and immerse yourself and avoid subconscious metagaming etc. 2. Avoid using "would" in narrative chats. Something either is there, happens, or not. There are times when the usage of it is warranted, for example: when attempting something and asking in /do if something "would" be possible to accomplish. It is also great common courtesy and allows for fair and fun roleplay. 3. I keep my actions in narrative chats (/me, /do etc.) rather short, concise and simple if they are directed towards another character or have chances of impacting them in any way. When roleplaying actions which do not have that big of an impact, I let myself go sometimes and go into more details. Roleplay is a dynamic gamemode and so I think unnecessarily long actions can sometimes piss people off when you're just trying to get something sorted. For example, myself punching someone would just be /me throws a right hook at Smith, aiming for their jaw. But, myself producing my wallet could be as long as /me reaches into the rear pocket on her shorts, pulling out a small carbon fiber wallet. I find that those details, as provided in the above /me, can help everyone else understand what kind of character I am playing and what their over all vibe is. What I've noticed on GTAW is that people tend to avoid using /do unless it's absolutely necessary. I do not know if this is strictly an English roleplay scene thing, as us Polish, we use /do practically everywhere we go to describe stuff, but over here on GTAW it is different. Regarding what I've said above, I believe /me is a chat to describe actions and nothing else. Therefore, I will usually only describe actions of my character there. Anything like describing certain visual traits, items on the character's body and such should be, in my opinion, done via /do. For example, I will personally rarely use "/me is..." or "/me has..." and will instead use /do to describe my character's traits, visual appearance and such. These are rules I abide by because that's how I was taught to RP. I am not an elitist and I think that you can feel free to use "/me is" and "/me has" as much as you want. I know I certainly won't and that's okay. We all come from different roleplay backgrounds and my background has happened to teach me that /do is a valuable command and that using "/me is..." or "/me has..." is stupid since you have /do for that. Honestly, I stand by that but like I said, I won't hate on it and gatekeep "proper" roleplay. In the end, I think that as long as your actions are clear, concise, understandable and not basically powergaming... you're good. Just don't hit me with that "/me searches x's body thoroughly" or "/me runs a metal detector across x's body", don't be a lazy fuck is what I'm saying.
  18. I don't know what it is with people NOT wanting their place to look ordinary or like shit, the amount of businesses I've been to which looked somewhat ordinary can be counted using fingers on the hand of a blind lumberjack. Everything is really boujee, I find myself out of place not just as a criminal but also as a civilian punk/goth character who would never in their right mind step foot into some Starbucks looking ass business and pay $20 for a coffee. Los Angeles is not all boujee and classy everywhere you go, there are terrible, shitty businesses running for years because people don't have better choices. Running an even somewhat mediocre looking business somewhere else than Vinewood will not ruin your reputation, you will be fucking praised for finally giving the majority of a server a place to hang out in. Many of us are tired of clubs, pubs and cafes that look too classy for our characters to even enter.
  19. Wrong place to post, this should go into the support section. Try this: Windows Key > Search for Services > Open Services > Locate Rockstar Games Service or something along those lines, will have Rockstar in the name > Change it's startup so that it is automatic > Close the dialog box and click Restart this service in the upper left corner > Restart your computer for good measure
  20. Whole heartedly agree and wish Continuity/Management would take this into consideration and write up a proper lore of some kind.
  21. Personally I found enjoyment in roleplay again when I took my sorry ass out of the city, Los Santos is just boring at this point. We need to organize more massive hubs of roleplay and rely less on vehicles and more on interaction between characters on foot. Vehicles should be there to assist us. This goes back to my point of: just because that's real America, it doesn't have to be our America. If everyone in real life America drives everywhere on a daily, maybe we shouldn't do it on our server because we're once again, in a game? I feel like if we relied less on vehicles and more on personal interactions and walking around in roleplay hubs, we'd eliminate most of the shitty roleplay that occurs within the server. A majority of those low level crimes that occur in rather open areas would be witnessed, reported to either the law or admins, and therefore taken care of. I will not be a gaming Karen and say that the quality went down. People who reminisce about 2020 and early 2021 are right in some capacity, though they fail to notice how we had shitty script jobs that everyone used to grind and how you could literally get kidnapped by a limousine in the middle of the street and nobody would give a single fuck about it. It was deemed okay because a lack of Player presence meant that you were able to do whatever the hell you wanted. Good thing that we can now for example hear gunshots outside when we're in interiors, or that we have commands to roleplay through doors more or less, but I think the interior meta and a lack of outside hubs, activities and the extremely low punishments people receive are in the end one of the biggest reasons why some folk do not even bother anymore. They simply cannot find that much to do in the city. You cannot realistically roleplay a teenager with no car because of the interior meta and a lack of people outside during most hours, the map is simply too large to accompany 700 players and have some kind of widespread community. This problem has been plaguing GTA World since forever and I would suggest that the Continuity team steps in, comes up with some ideas with our help and that we finally solve this mess. Not much is explained about Los Santos. Should we roleplay it as this crime infested shit hole, or should we roleplay it as a rather safe tourist city with lots of networking possibilities, though one which will show its' dark side once you get caught lacking? I have been saying this forever and I think that it is an issue related to the topic of this discussion - not being shitheads to each other. We need to work together, stop this illegal vs. legal bullshit and we can genuinely get this thing going. I am tired of being a pessimistic dickhead, honestly. I just want good for our community and for this server. I've been playing here since 2018, I love it here, I think that this server has potential. Doesn't matter what I said in the past. I think that ever since our new developers have joined, they have added a massive amount of great features that have greatly improved our server. A lot of play to win mechanics and grinding has been eliminated or replaced by better options. All we need now is to, as a community, shake hands and stop going for excuses. That this is the internet, or that gamers are Karens, or that roleplayers are all losers who just want to log into their interior to ERP. If you think about it for a second you will understand that it's okay to care about this server for your own and the communities' benefit, instead of constantly bitching about it and having those pointless discussion threads that do not achieve anything. Don't wanna be a pretentious idiot neither, I genuinely think that we can all get along.
  22. Okay, enough gangs. Not trying to silence anyone or be rude here, but holy shit you guys just filled up 2-3 pages. Let's get back on topic, thanks.
  23. Yeah let's not derail into illegal vs legal because this isn't about that, like I said you don't need to be neither to fuck with someone's fun and development. That's just what this thread is about so yeah guys, let's keep it going nice and civil. We've gotten over the gangs topic et cetera, let's actually get down to the core of the issue - people doing stuff that can be done but shouldn't necessarily be done, because despite it being realistic it might not be friendly in the context of enjoying the game. I like it how people brought up that we all have different ideas about what fun and enjoyment of roleplay is. I think that we should get a better, more standardized lore/continuity subforum or something along those lines so that people can know what to expect and what to roleplay. I think that the beginner guides, the tutorial and such should focus on having that mentality, of being there to tell a story and interact with others, not mess with them for a laugh and fuck with their development. Or to cause others inconvenience. There should be very clear messages out there, stating that this gamemode is not competitive and that treating it as such will get you into trouble. I think this gamemode can be enjoyable to everyone if we have some compromises, this thread is just about getting along. Like I said many times, we can all roleplay in ways to fulfill each other's "careers" so to say, as characters. Long story short, some shit people get into is deserved. Point is try to not make it happen in the first place. As the instigator and as the one who gets dragged into it.
  24. Gonna rename this to "Let's not be shitheads to each other" cause I think it will fit more with the current vibe of our discussion. Also basically sums up whatever we wrote here. Shit happens, just don't be a shithead and make people miserable.
  25. The point remains, just because it happens doesn't mean it should. If someone looking like your typical white 9-5 worker walks down the street next to the beach you ain't gonna press his flannel shirt wearing ass about any gang shit, it is rather obvious from a far that he is walking to work or from work. Or getting groceries, or just there on a walk. Common sense, that I agree with and that is what I want. If someone looks sus on your block, stands somewhere for too long, peeks around alleyways or circles around, sure push his ass right there in the street - you have IC justification and to me that's completely fine. Gangs are gangs, they are not the smartest organizations and I agree with that. Just be reasonable as to how you roleplay it. But since we are a roleplay server which is already dealing with way too much violence even for USA standards, we should be very considerate about these actions. If possible we should avoid bullshit, not censor criminal roleplay. I do not understand censorship of the majority of things on this server, besides the pedo shit. If someone agrees you should be able to roleplay, but anyways. Agreed,
