  1. That's the beauty of discussion, it's also why holding a civil discussion on these matters is a good thing to do, if I'm wrong on the statement provided in the suggestion? It can be later used as evidence as to why these things work fine as they are. Simply put, I do believe adding that extra layer of warning on a business (Now knowing we can't do that on properties we'll leave them out) is helpful to all community members that have a current business or are looking to get into them.
  2. I completely agree, we're past the forum PM thing as it was found to be a problem reaching out in terms of communication. If we have a method in-game to write custom notifications to attach to a business? That's something that could be explored.
  3. For one second please don't think I'm discrediting your work within PM or the entire team for that matter, we as staff know how much work each sub-division do and I can openly say here that PM do a lot of work that goes unnoticed. If we can touch on this, if you're right in saying that properties are an automated system then we fall into loss at that point, when it comes to people requesting an area inactivity search or on a singular property these are where the points in question can be noted down. Surely an appeals process is a long-winded process, if we can stop it from getting to that point from a simple notification in-game? Not only would that then reduce the work-load for PM in a singular area.
  4. That still doesn't make sense, if the lease system already has the notification system in-place and PM have the ability to add notes to a property in which appear in a persons notifications box. Why isn't that being done? Completely surpassed me that they have the ability to do that now, so with your input I think we've struck gold in agreeing that instead of the forums, PM could place notes on the property like they do when revoking them to pre-warn the person that their property is up for review due to inactivity.
  5. Completely agree, we're more-so talking about properties owned in this case when it comes down to them being removed without prior warning. The lease system works great because yes you do get notifications when it's about to expire, however with properties you own like housing and businesses? The only notification you get is AFTER it's taken to appeal it. So what I'm saying is a better way is to put a formal warning on the property, a property strike as you were which enables the owner to be warned that their business or property is under review and if the performance/activity is not worked on or the property is not sold to the open market then PM may have to step in and do a manual revoke. Ultimately it's all about communication here. Edit - The best method would be to enable PM to put strikes on properties in-game that come up in the players notifications, as you rightfully said in-game is 100% of the playerbase when it comes to communicating with them.
  6. That's what we're saying here, there needs to be prior warning BEFORE the businesses or properties are revoked not after the fact.
  7. Perhaps it's the spam we as staff receive in our text-box as to why I miss the notification when logging in, any member of staff here I think you'd agree with what I said. The forums unfortunately does not hold 100% of the playerbase, I'll admit and identify that. The issue I'm looking to raise here is of two things, 1) Allowing prior warning that the property will be taken before it's removal and 2) Adding that layer of communication which works in favour of the 1st point. Ultimately I think making the notifications tab better in person is the better idea, although that's for leases. You don't get prior warning if your property will be taken, that's the point.
  8. I completely agree with you, business and property owners alike have a huge responsibility in keeping their businesses active, unfortunately in a lot of cases these properties or businesses fall into a period of inactivity. Does this take away the fact that PM should be handing out warnings to alert property owners that their asset is about to be taken away? No. That's the sole purpose of this rule change, not to discredit how much work PM already does, but a single forum PM or another layer of communication should be noted.
  9. Call me blind, I don't check them because I forget they even exist. The forums is an active hub of where the majority of the community reside, sure there are people that are active in-game without a forum account and perhaps that's where the in-game notification tab can be used as a secondary layer I completely agree. Nothing is hand-holding. It's providing the community with an extra layer of reassurance and security that their hard work and effort will not be simply be taken away when they move onto other projects, have other commitments that take them out of game to actively maintain a business. A business can take hours to open, the forums takes a couple of seconds to check, especially when you load them up you get a nice loud bleep along with the big red icon above your notifications tab, unfortunately the same can't be said for in-game.
  10. Again, this is called courtesy. People forget to make requests or even know they exist. People don’t even know the rule in question exists! This amendment is to allow property-management to execute a single command in-game and use that information to send a single pre-written forum PM to members of this community. I have personally had the luxury of being contacted on discord by members of PM when my lease was going to expire and it made me extremely happy to be informed as I for one don’t check the in-game /notifications. It’s all about offering that same treatment to the wider community and offering a level of courtesy because when you look at how much time, effort and even the methods of what you need to go through to advertise your business and money spent mapping it? I believe simply taking it without any prior communication from property-management is unacceptable.
  11. It’s called courtesy. We as staff are here for the community in various aspects. I disagree if you think sending a SINGLE forum PM is going to be too much of a workload for a member of property management, considering how much paperwork some of the other sub-teams have to go through as I can speak personally from my experience in IFM. It could even be a pre-written message, just need to fill in the name of the business or property in question.
  12. I'll make this short and sweet, inactivity can be a major problem when it comes to housing and businesses alike on the server. People withhold their properties from the open market for a various amount of reasons, be it a change in roleplay, not finding time to dedicate hours to an opening or loss of interest. The problem around the current rule of yoinking the property without any prior removal warning in which the leasing system does, is that you're immediately taking away peoples time, effort and both in-game money on something they worked hard to establish and only because the business or property has fallen on hard times due to one of the examples above. I believe the rule needs to be changed where the owner is notified by a member of PM to either push activity hard on the business or sell before it's taken away manually by the team. This gives a fair chance for the owner to make a decision if they can truly invest the time on continuing to manage and open the business or have it passed on to better hands. The current system demotivates people in terms of their time and energy when something they've built up is ultimately taken away and destroyed at the click of a button.

If enough interest is made for this game, could start a GTAW pro-clubs team.
  16. We are starting to receive an influx of reports on this thread. Can we please keep in mind to remain respectful to one and another despite the differ in opinions, discussion is great and what helps us achieve bigger things in this community but it still needs to uphold a standard.
  17. The one of very few factions I would constantly keep coming back to look at the screenshots. Extremely interesting concept and execution, should be very proud on how far you took this and how well it succeeded even until the end @DLimit. Good luck with whatever you do next.
